“SERVES YOU RIGHT for being a glutton,” Love teased her cousin as Kulas once again ran towards the bathroom. It was almost two in the afternoon and she and Yaya Rosa were cleaning the kitchen.
Kulas ate almost half of the buko salad Yaya Rosa made because it was delicious. 
“I’ll look after the amount of food he’ll take next time since his stomach seemed a little sensitive,” Yaya Rosa said while wiping the plates.
“Please excuse us. It’s been a long time since we ate well. We became a little greedy for food, especially Kulas. His family could hardly eat anything in the province before he came to Manila.”
That’s the reason why Love just let her cousin eat anything he wanted. Not to mention that Yaya Rosa’s cooking was really superb so even Love enjoyed eating anything the old lady offers. She feels at home here because of Yaya Rosa. She could be herself whenever the nanny was around.
She was also comfortable with Eron. Earlier while they were eating, he was very attentive to her. And she has never gotten that much attention from a man like him. Despite her perceived disability, he did not treat her any differently. She felt like wanting to trust him. There was just something holding her back.
And maybe because she was not ready just yet.
"That’s why you should eat more while you’re here.” Yaya Rosa squeezed Love’s arm. “Eron’s type of woman was never skinny. He wants those who look healthy.”
“There you go again, Yaya Rosa. You’re teasing us again.”
“I just think Eron will change for the better because of you. I was really happy when he climbed a coconut tree for you,” she said with a giggle.
Love couldn’t bring herself to laugh with the nanny. “Is Eron really okay? He might have hurt himself somewhere along the way.”
Yaya Rosa wiped her hands and took Love by her own hand. “Come. Let’s go and take a peek at what my charge is doing now.”
“B-But he could be sleeping. He’s not wearing any clothes when he’s sleeping.”
"As if you haven't seen any part of his body," Yaya Rosa said and continued to walk past the living room.
“Plus, have you forgotten you’re blind, Love? You can’t see anything.”
That’s just it. Because even a blind person’s non-existence eyes would have a field day when seeing Eron’s naked body.
Yaya Rosa knocked on the door of Eron's room. "Eron, are you awake?"
"Yaya, come in,” Eron’s voice was weak. 
He was lying on his bed when Yaya Rosa opened the door. Hardly moving. He was just left by the door and examined it. Love stayed by the door to watch him from there. He was not wearing anything on top and only a blanket was covering his waist.
"Are you hurting anywhere?" Yaya Rosa asked.
“My whole body was aching, Yaya Rosa. It’s bothering me so I can barely sleep. Rock climbing was really different from climbing a coconut tree.”
Yaya Rosa shook her head as she lifted Eron's arm. “Oh no! You are no longer flawless, Eron. You also have scratches here. Wait here, I'll be right back, okay?”
"I'll give Eron a massage, Yaya Rosa," she said as soon as the nanny went out the door.
"Good. Because you’re the reason why my charge got scratches on his skin and why his whole body hurting now.”
“You’re the one who told him to climb because that’s what Mitos had been doing. I never said anything about that,” Love reasoned out. 
"Ah, yes. Then…It was all his fault because he wanted to show off,” the nanny blamed Eron in the end.
But Love ended up blaming herself when she entered the room with Yaya Rosa’s guidance. Eron looked like he was more tired now that she could see him up close. He looked like he wanted to sleep but his body aching was bothering him.
“Eron, Love will give you a massage. She will take care of you,” said Yaya Rosa and made her stand next to the bed. The nanny handed over the massage oil to her and quickly left the room. 
Eron tilted his head at her. “If this is a bother to you, you can just take a rest, Love. I’ll be fine.”
“Yaya Rosa said you’re dying of pain. Besides, giving a massage is my day job. This is just payment for making you climb up that tree.” She climbed on the bed. 
“My body didn't hurt because I climbed the tree. My condition now was probably due to too much heat or maybe something I have eaten…”
She pressed a palm against his back. “I may not see anything, but at least I’m thinking. It’s not that easy to climb a tree especially if you’re not used to it.”
He moaned. She wasn’t sure if he got hurt even more or was it because he finally felt better. “Maybe I'm just getting older. I'm sorry if I'm not that good at climbing trees compared to when we were younger. I may not be able to do much for you now compared to what I was able to do for you before. I may have forgotten a lot of things now. I am sorry, Love. I wish I could be a better Mitos for you.”
She smiled sadly. “You were different then and you are different now. I would appreciate it more if you just do whatever you can. You don't have to force yourself to like the Mitos before.”
She couldn’t help feeling guilty. Eron didn't have to do this for her. Who was she in his life anyway?
“I will do everything to make you happy, Love. Are you happy when you’re with me?”
"Of course." In fact, she was happier every time she’s with him. She never realized that it was still possible for her to smile and laugh, that she still has the right to be happy again after all the things that she had been through. Everything happened because of Eron.
"Me too. I’m also happy when I’m with you,” he said and closed his eyes.
And soon enough, he was sleeping soundly. She just finished giving him a massage before she kissed him on his cheek. 
"Thank you for changing my life," she said and left him in his room. 
If only she could stay by his side for the rest of their lives.
