“EAT THIS PRAWN,” Yaya Rosa offered as they were having dinner. "Eron told me to cook your favorite."
Love just looked at the prawns cooked in garlic sauce but she had no appetite. Eron has not come home or even called for two days now. 
"Yaya, did he say where he was going?”
"No. But, as far as I know, he has something important to do. Maybe he went to Hong Kong with his parents.”
“He went to Hong Kong. And I wasn’t able to ask him for something to bring back as a gift for me,” Kulas said regretfully, as he enjoyed sucking on the prawn’s head.
She gave him a warning look. She already refused anything that Eron offered to buy for her. He had helped them so much already and she didn’t want to abuse his generosity.
Kulas gave her a peace sign. "Just one Mickey Mouse headband would be nice…"
Love took a prawn on her plate but she didn’t even touch it. There were just too many things that were running in her head. 
"He must be with Janice Bernardo, Yaya. Was she his former girlfriend?”
The nanny’s expression turned sour. “That little bitch? Out of all of Eron’s exes, she’s the last person that I would want Eron to marry. She thinks too highly of herself too much. She was only able to come near to Eron after her plastic surgery. That woman was really ugly when she was a kid. After her surgery, she started acting like she was the only beautiful person in the world when she flirted with Eron. I don’t know what Eron’s mother found likable about her.”
"There's nothing we can do if Eron wants her."
Janice was undeniably rich and beautiful. How could she compete with her?
She wasn’t really expecting Eron to like her. She did not want such a complication. She just wanted for him to meet a kind woman who could make him happy because he deserved it. That would reassure her even when she was not part of his life anymore.
“What? I'll send Cameron to a mental institution if he ever takes that woman again. You’re lucky Janice wasn’t able to touch even the tip of your finger. The woman Eron went out with after he and Janice broke up almost went bald because of her. She almost went to jail if her parents didn’t pay that woman not to pursue the charges. She was really sick in the head.”
“Let her try hurting my sister. I will make her bald,” Kulas threatened.
“Just eat your food there. We still have work tomorrow,” Love said.
In order not to be bored at home, they asked their neighbors to do their manicures and pedicures and gave them massages. She didn’t want her skills to get rusty. Plus, she wasn’t used to not earning money, especially since she had been working since she was young. She would get crazy if she didn't do anything.
They heard a car horn. “Oh! That must be Eron. Stay here and continue your dinner,” Yaya Rosa said and hurried to the gate.
"I'll also see if he brought back something for me,” Kulas said.
She stopped him. “Just eat your food, Kulas.”
She didn’t want to peek at Eron because Janice might be with him. If that woman was really here, she would lock herself in her room. She didn’t want any trouble. She didn’t want to embarrass Eron so she would just keep her distance and stay clear of her as much as possible.
She heard Eron’s footsteps and her nervousness increased. Yes, she could recognize her footsteps now. 
He touched her shoulder. “Love, it’s Eron.”
"Where have you been?" she couldn't help asking. "We're all worried here.”
"Apologies. I had to pick someone up. It was a surprise for you.”
"Who?" she asked. If that surprise turned out to be Janice or any other woman, she would definitely give him a surprise kick.
"My child… Love?"
She almost lost herself when she heard that voice. "D-Dad?" Joy replaced the sadness she had been feeling inside. "Dad!"
She stood up and faced her father. She couldn't stop crying when her father walked to her and hugged her.
Her father was crying too. 
“My child, please forgive me. I never wanted to leave you. You and Kulas. I just didn’t have any choice. I needed to hide. I didn't know that the people who were after me would turn to you. Oh, my poor daughter. I became a bad father to you,” he lamented in between those tears.
“Forget it, Dad. You’re safe, that’s what’s important to me. They will never harass us again,” she said.
“Please thank Eron...I mean, Mitos. He’s the one who helped us.”
Her father hugged Eron. “Thank you so much for helping my daughter. I thought you had forgotten about us completely. I don't know how I will be able to pay you for everything you did to me and my daughter.”
“It's nothing, Mang Baste. You are like a family to me. I will do anything for Love,” Eron said and wiped away her tears. “Now you don’t have to worry about your father anymore. He’ll be with you from now on.”
“Yes. Thank you.” She thought he was in Hong Kong with another woman. Turned out he had the best gift for her in his return. 
Mang Baste was in awe when he was brought to the guest house. “This is such a magnificent room. Mitos is really big time now.”
“His friend owned this. We are just staying here for a while,” she said as she waited for what her father would say about Mitos. Whether he knew Eron was just pretending to be Mitos or not because it was Eron himself who fetched him from Guimaras.
"By the way, Love, why are you blind?" her father asked and sat beside her on the bed. “I was shocked when I was told that you were blind. What happened?”
