“WHEN I WAS on the island and was stranded after a shipwreck, you’re the only thing I had in my mind. I realized all my mistakes. You were there when I needed you but I have forgotten you. I am so sorry, Love.” Love was not saying anything as she listened to Mitos’ confession. They were at a restaurant not far from the School for the Blind. She felt numb as Mitos’ words just went past her ears. She already heard everything before because Eron had told her about it before. "It's good that you’re awake now and that you’re fine,” she said. He had been comatose for several days because his head was struck with something as he was trying to escape the sinking ship. He nearly died. She was happy seeing him but her heart was mourning. Cameron was very angry with her. She wasn’t even given the chance to explain and she was afraid he would never listen to anything she would say to him again. “I wanted to see you immediately when I woke up. I asked Cameron’s cousin Shei to look for you. But she told me you are already married. I felt so down. I feel like I have no more hope in you. It turned out that Sir Cameron was just trying to keep us away from each other. If it had not been for someone who told me where to find you, I would never find the truth.” "Eron is a good person," she defended him. “He did pretend to be you, but he just wanted to protect me. He thought I was blind. He thought it would hurt me even more if I found out that you were in a coma. That I might lose hope. He loves me but I only hurt him in return.” She believes Cameron loves her. She felt his sincerity. He made her feel special though she had a disability. It was a rarity for men to do that. But everything changed when he found out that she could see. "Love?" Mitos laughed and drank his wine. "What love? He’s a playboy, Love. He’s an expert when it comes to women. I’m sure he was enjoying playing with you. Playing with us. He was just embarrassed that you discovered his game early on.” She gave him a sharp look. “Eron is not a bad guy. He didn't play with me either. He had saved me several times. He showed me nothing but kindness. What right do you have to tell me that while you turned your back on me when I needed you? Even if he was just playing with me, no one else could do what he did to help my family. He paid off her father’s debt. He protected me against my father’s debtors at the club where they took me when I couldn’t pay them the right amount they demanded from me. He brought my father back to me. So don't you dare speak badly about Eron in front of me.” Mitos was surprised. He probably thought she would just accept everything he threw at Eron. “I am already here. Whatever Sir Cameron has done for you, I will pay for it. How much does your father owe him? I have money now. I can now keep my promises to you.” "Thank you but it's not necessary," she said and stood up. "I can pay off my family's debt on my own." "Why don't you let me do that for you, Love?" he asked as he held her hand to keep her from leaving. She touched her forehead. “Mitos, I’m not feeling well. I want to rest so please let me go now. Let's just talk next time. I think you also needed to rest.” He blocked her path. “You don't seem happy to see me, Love. You’ve been waiting for me for a long time…” “I’m still confused about what’s happening, Mitos. Can we just talk about this some other time? I hope you understand. I just want a little consideration from you. Please." He was taken aback. He had never raised her voice on him before because she had always been the calm one. She just follows whatever he wants to do. But it was different now. She was able to live on her own without Mitos. But what she couldn’t do now was to live without Eron. She was on the verge of tears when she left the restaurant. What she did to Eron, she couldn’t make it right again. She pretended to protect herself, but she only hurt the man she loved in the end.
