Chapter 55 Epilogue

He was about to kiss her when he stopped. "Just a minute." He reached for his cellphone and called Marvin.
“Come back after two hours. And when you unlock the door, leave our dinner at the door as well. Take a vacation. I will send you your bonus tomorrow.”
"What are we going to do in two hours?" she wondered.
"We'll make up for the lost time," he said and kissed her lightly.
"Sir, that is not included in my job description as a masseuse"
“That’s okay. That is included in your job description as my girlfriend.”
CAMERON’S MOTHER was sitting next to Love, sniffling as they watched the choir performance of the young students of the School for the Blind. They would sing at Cameron and Love's upcoming church wedding.
"Maybe now Mama will allow them to sing at our wedding," Cameron whispered to her as held her hand. A wedding ring now on her ring finger.
It wasn’t easy getting Cameron’s mother’s approval. She had a very high standard when it came to the woman she wanted for her son to marry. But when Love graduated from college with her degree in Education, he immediately took her away to elope so his mother wouldn't have any choice but to agree to their wedding.
Now every step for their church wedding needed to have his mother’s approval. Mrs. Duarte declared she would not allow the Blind Children’s Choir to sing at their wedding until she is impressed. That's why
Love let the children perform in front of Cameron’s mother to show their impressive talents. They were her students after all and she was proud of them.
"They were like angels," Cameron's mom said and wiped the corner of her eyes. “I am sure many will be touched by their talent. It's a good thing you chose them and not a sexy singer who has an expensive talent fee. How much will they be paid?”
"It was a gift for our wedding, Ma," Love answered. The kids there loved her dearly.
"It does not matter. I will just donate to this school,” he said and went on to talk to the school director and Bham who also happened to be there to watch the students perform.
"Finally, my mother got impressed,” Cameron said with a sigh. "How many meetings have I canceled for her?"
Cameron had been busier these days. His new projects now involved providing training and employment to people with disabilities. His first project, call center agents who are visually impaired people, had been successful. Now other companies were following suit but Cameron also wanted to ensure that people with disabilities were treated fairly.
Love, on the other hand, was now a full-fledged teacher for persons with disabilities and special children. She was treating them like her own children as if they were hers and Cameron’s kids.
“So, are we still on with our plans to go to Guimaras?” he asked. Cameron. "Let’s go and visit your dad."
Her father had a good life in the province now. He managed to saved money and bought his own farm and built his own house. Kulas was also planning on putting up his own parlor one of these days. Every two months he offers free services to people with disabilities.
"I'll ask my doctor first if it's possible for me to travel."
“Why? Are you sick?"
His mother approached them. “Love, your designer called me. Why the need to re-fit your gown? Aren't you on a diet? You can't gain weight for your wedding. It’s practically next month.”
She gave them a sheepish smile. “It needs to be refitted, Ma. And it may be difficult for me to go on a diet now that you’re going to be a grandmother.”
“What?! I'm going to be a father?!” Cameron said with so much excitement.
Love nodded. “Yes. It's been three months already. I just didn't notice because I was so busy…”
Cameron was about to hug him when his mother hugged Love first. “Oh, I don’t really care if your wedding gown won’t fit you anymore, hija. I’m going to be a grandmother!” She took out her cellphone. “Wait. Let's call your dad and tell him to come here. I’ll order Jollibee to treat these kids here. I will tease my amigas who still don’t have grandchildren yet and make them jealous.” Then his mother just laughed out loud.
Cameron hugged Love and kissed him on the lips. “Thank you! You make me so happy. Are you happy to be with me as well?”
"Of course. Without you, my life might have been different. I might have known how to love and be loved in return.”
"And I'm the happiest man in the world because you love me and I'll be a daddy soon."
Not long after, they could hear the voices of the choir once again. They were singing for her because of the good news she just announced. And she knew her child would be born into that world full of people who love him.
