Chapter 37 You can do it

“ATE LOVE, wake up now! Come on, the sun’s been up for hours,” Kulas said and tried to remove the blanket that was covering Love.
She tightened her grip on the blanket. “I don’t want to get up. I don’t feel well.”
“You can't have breakfast, Ate. Don't tell me I would have to pull you by your feet to drag you out?”
She removed the blanket. “Can I just eat here? I'm not in the mood to leave the room.”
The truth was that she just didn’t want to face Eron after what happened last night. Why did he have to kiss her? Was it because he wanted to kiss her? Or he just did that to shut her up and would stop arguing with him? Or maybe to teach her a lesson?
But whatever the reason, she just didn’t want to see him for now. What the heck would she say to the man who just kissed her suddenly?
“Oh, wow! Are you a señorita now, Ate? Fine! I will tell you about Kuya Mitos.”
Maybe Yaya Rosa would understand what she was going through. She hoped it would be okay to just send her food to her room.
"Love, your breakfast is here," she heard Yaya Rosa say.
"Yaya, come in.” She removed her blanket.
"Breakfast in bed!" But instead of Yaya Rosa, it was Eron who entered her room. He laid the breakfast tray in front of her. “I think taking a bath at the pool last night did not do you good.” He took her hand and placed a rosal flower there. "Flowers for you."
She could not answer immediately when she smelled the flower. Eron was in front of her now. The man who kissed her last night. The man she had been fantasizing about for days. She was not ready just yet.
“Thank you! Is this my breakfast?” she asked in confusion.
"Silly!" He laughed and sat beside her on the bed. “I want to apologize for being crass last night. I should have trusted you. I just want to protect you.”
"I-I understand." He was too close. She remembered that last night, their wet bodies were touching each other. Ah, hell. It was too early for her imagination to run wild like this. So she just focused on the scent of the flower. "Smells good!"
"It's not as beautiful as a rose or other flowers but I'm sure you'll appreciate its wonderful scent."
Even with the flowers, he was still considerate of what she would appreciate as someone who couldn’t see.
She was lucky to have a man like him who appreciated her.
"You should have accompanied it with a sampaguita necklace and ylang-ylang for added effect,” Kulas teased who was standing by the door.
"Kulas…" she warned but her cousin and Yaya Rosa stayed guarding at the door.
"Yaya, don’t you have anything to take care of?” Eron asked.
“There is. I will watch over you. Who knows what will happen if we leave you alone here.” Yaya Rosa put her arm over Kulas’s shoulders. “Go on. Just continue with that breakfast in bed thing. You needed to make it up to Love.”
Eron stirred the milk. “I will not be overprotective from now on. I will trust your judgment. So I’m gonna stay by your side to make sure you’re safe.”
"Thank you!"
He didn’t feed her anymore and just watched over her while she was eating. It wasn’t making her feel choked anymore.
Yaya Rosa leaned against the door frame. “I remember that Love loves buko salad, right? Why don't you pick coconut from the trees, just like the way you did when you and Love were still kids?”
“I’ll…climb a tree?” Eron uttered in disbelief.
Love just stared at them. She doesn’t remember Mitos climbing coconut trees for her. He only went up to the roof of the house to get coconuts but not really on the tree itself.
Yaya Rosa gave him a thumbs up. "You can do it."
“SERVES YOU RIGHT for being a glutton,” Love teased her cousin as Kulas once again ran towards the bathroom. It was almost two in the afternoon and she and Yaya Rosa were cleaning the kitchen.
Kulas ate almost half of the buko salad Yaya Rosa made because it was delicious.
“I’ll look after the amount of food he’ll take next time since his stomach seemed a little sensitive,” Yaya Rosa said while wiping the plates.
“Please excuse us. It’s been a long time since we ate well. We became a little greedy for food, especially Kulas. His family could hardly eat anything in the province before he came to Manila.”
That’s the reason why Love just let her cousin eat anything he wanted. Not to mention that Yaya Rosa’s cooking was really superb so even Love enjoyed eating anything the old lady offers. She feels at home here because of Yaya Rosa. She could be herself whenever the nanny was around.
