People can be like stars. They can shine in their own time and in their own individual ways. The waiting game and the hopes of the child is that she couldn't wait to grow up and be able to do everything she yearns to do. “The stars. I love the stars.” The child sang with her own tune. “Look, it twinkles. Someday I will be like them.” She kept on admiring the stars as her hands were propped on the window. She continued to stare at the night sky above her. The woman can only smile. She thought she's too young to understand. To be one of the stars simply meant to be different for someone who already had grown. It means you consider yourself leaving the world to be finally be one of those stars. She looked at it too. She went closer to the child and followed the same gesture the kid is doing. She propped her hands too and stared at the sky. She gave her a glance, tilting her head she tried to see, to observe the child's face. For the young child to be one of the stars simply means that she adored the shine stars possessed that she wanted to be just like them, to shine possessing the light of her own. “I cannot wait to grow up.” She child spoke again. The woman turned her head with a curious look in her gaze. “Why?” She asked. “Because I want to do the things that I want.” The child answered. The woman admired how the child look determined that she'll be able to do it. “May I know what are those things that you want to do?” The child then stopped looking at what's above her. She pouted and leaned her head on the wooden window instead. "It's okay if you don't want to share.” She stared at the child before looking at the stars. “It'll be great if the sky surprised us with a shooting star tonight.” The woman commented. Another beamed of spark passed the child's eyes because what the woman spoke caught her attention. “Do you think a shooting star will be present tonight?” The curiosity peaked and anotither hopeful wonder came into her as she asked the woman. The woman simply smiled before she opened her mouth for a reply. “Let's just hope for the best, okay?” She answered still having the smile on her face. She was once just like the child too. Every evening she will opened one of the windows on their house and stared at the open skyline just to see the stars but most especially the moon. Every night she'll wish upon a star too. She'll wish that she'll grow up fast to be able to do e everything her heart wanted. Just like the child she loved the sight of seeing the sky filled with a lof of stars. She loved seeing them flickered, twinkled, and shine bright illuminating the dark night. She grew up and found out that what she wished to be wasn't able to accomplish all those wished her heart desired. And for her it's okay because she still has the time her in the world for her to find joy in her every tomorrows. The woman knows she's still growing too and that she still hasn't stop growing through the years. She'll be able to do the things she wanted to do and it's only all about the perfect timing. During the evenings of her affinity towards the stars and the moon. She too wished to be one of the stars. She too longed to be with them. And now that dream is still present, it never left. Most believe that when one dies they'll go to heaven some of them in hell. The woman smiled inwardly at the thought that came in her mind because for her the stars spoked about her yearning to be with her family. It's her loved ones. The stars were her guides that pushed her to find her way out, whenever she was in her melancholic spirit. She treated the stars as her family it brought her comfort in those days of pure darkness where she felt that she was put upon in such desolate cold place alone with herself in the silence of the night. The night sky provided her with a lovely view and a lovely feeling. She checked the child again. She saw how her lids wanted to close so bad. The woman knew that it's time for the child to sleep. “It's time for bed time, Rina.”, She gentle touched the child's shoulder to tap it for a bit. The child slowly turned her head towards her and yawned. “But I wanted to wait for the shooting star.” The woman could not stop herself to smile at her. "We can wait for it to come tomorrow.” “But what if it doesn't come tomorrow?” The woman smiled. “If wouldn't come then you have to whisper your wishes to the twinkling stars instead. But you have to be careful of wishing upon a star.” She warned. “You only have to wish the one that your heart wants the most.” “But you say shooting stars delivered wishes fast than wishing on a star.” The child answered. “I know. I'll tell you another one. Do you know that stars delivered wishes during the times one needs it the most. It will come properly if you say your wish and forget about it.” “Why should one forget about it? ” “It's because it perfectly works out that way. When we desperately want something we will cling into that wish too and become desperate. We will grow too focus on that one thing that we will forget about the rest of the ones that we have around us. So go and make a wish to the stars because they'll give it to you when you least expect it.” The woman was also reminded of her days. She hoped that the child will follow this one. Another curious look from the child passed her face before she opened her mouth looking like in shock. “Because it will become a surprise!” The child answered. The woman moved her head to give the child a pat on her head. "Don't we love it when we get surprised?” The child made a few nods, looking like she understood what the woman talked about. "Let's close the window and we'll go to bed. I'll prepare you a glass of milk to make you feel even more better before we'll tucked you up your bed? Do you like that?” She said while helping the kid go down the chair she was standing on. The child made a nod before she raised both of her arms almost telling the woman she wanted to be carried. The woman smiled before she carried the child in her arms.
