Chapter 34 I feel guilty

LOVE WAS IN THE hidden part of the verandah watching Eron take a bath in the swimming pool. He was wearing just black swimming trunks, splurging himself in the water. That's what greeted her when she woke up this morning.
She likes this morning.
He truly was a blessing to womankind. Lean muscles. Tanned skin, making him look more masculine in her eyes. She kinda felt a little jealous of the water running down his body. She had seen his body when she gave him a massage at the clinic, but it was still different when she could see him, his body, in broad daylight.
If it was a sin to see his body, then she was fine sinning this way. She would gladly accept the punishment.
She hugged the nearby post. “Looks good to hug him. I can imagine melting in his arms if he ever wraps me again in his embrace like before.”
She never fantasized about Mitos like this. What was with this man waking up her inner lustful desires?
“He has a nice body, right? Hot, the women call it.”
“Yes,” she replied. She bit her lower lip when Eron got up from the pool.
“Wipe your drool. You don’t want Eron to see you like that.”
She touched the side of her lips. Was it that obvious how much she was lusting over Eron’s body? “There was no drool…” She was stunned when she recognized that voice. Slowly, she turned to the person who just spoke to her. "Y-Yaya Rosa.”
The old woman crossed her arms over her chest as she looked at Love with a raised eyebrow. “Hmmm…does that mean you could see Eron’s…body?”
Busted! She was caught right-handed. “Ahm…” She couldn’t speak right to explain herself. So she just lowered her head in shame. How she wished there was a tsunami and washed her away right that moment. She couldn’t face the old nanny anymore. “I admit, Yaya Rosa.”
"You mean you're not blind?"
She nodded and raised her head a little. “But I am not a bad person. I didn’t have any intention of fooling anyone.”
Yaya Rosa turned around and went back inside the house. “You don’t have to explain anything. I just wanted to confirm my suspicions about you. Whether you could see or not. You may be good at pretending but I'm smarter. My mother’s a blind person.”
Lovellia’s shoulders dropped. She was busted. There was nothing she could hide from the older woman. "I'm so sorry."
The old woman took out an egg from the refrigerator. "Why are you apologizing?"
“I lied to you. It's only natural that you will get angry at me.”
Yaya Rosa broke the egg and smiled. "Do I look angry?"
The old lady might be smiling, but Love knows she doesn’t trust her anymore. “Yaya, I'm not a bad person.
I just had no other choice because I needed to protect myself. Some bad people were after me. They wanted me to pay off my father's debt with my body. I can't do that. I don’t want to do that.”
"But they still took you?"
It seemed like Eron or Marvin had already told the old lady about what happened to her. “Yes. I'm not lying about my life being in danger. My father owes money to a syndicate. They didn't take me right away.
I have a hunch that the syndicate has a problem with money so they forced me to work for them to make me pay them immediately. If I didn’t pretend to be blind, I know something worse could have happened to me.”
“And you still pretended to be blind in front of Eron even after he had saved you. Why didn’t you just tell him the truth?”
She took a deep breath. “I didn’t know who he was. I didn’t know his intentions with me. All I know is that he pretended to be my ex-boyfriend Mitos and I am very grateful to him. So I hope you will understand what I did.”
Yaya Rosa took both Love’s hands. “I understand you, Love. It’s good that you didn’t trust Eron at first.
I love him to bits as his nanny, but he was such a womanizer and I can’t deny that. If he knew you’re not blind, you would probably be pregnant by now.”
Her eyes widened. "What?"
“That boy just had so many women. Girlfriends here and there. His parents were just lucky he has not impregnated any of his women yet. Be thankful that he has not come after you. Remember to always lock your door at night.”
She shook her head. “He’s not that kind of man. He respects me.” He just holds her hands, that’s all. Yaya Rosa should have been worried about her charge. Because Love might do something to him that would make anyone throw her off the ocean.
Yaya Rosa fried the rice. "That’s good to hear. You look kind and a decent young child. Not like the other women Eron brought here. They were not even ashamed to undress. Always all over each other’s bodies. I always feel like having a heart attack whenever he brings a woman here.”
She might have a heart attack herself if she ever sees him do that to another woman. No wonder he would sometimes not be able to answer back whenever she gives out a remark about him being a playboy.
She just wasn’t sure whether to be happy about him being a womanizer or not. Coz he never did anything to her to make her feel he was a real playboy. Should she be jealous of other women?
"Who is Eron really?" she asked. She had been intrigued by the man who saved her for quite some time already. "I don't know anything about him except that he pretended to be Mitos." And she was sure that although he had a connection with Mitos, he did not fully know Mitos or the details of her and her ex-bf’s relationship.
“His name is Cameron Duarte. Their family owns banks.”
Her eyes almost popped out in shock. "Banks?" His wealth was staggering then. "Then it means he owned this resthouse and the condo unit we stayed in Manila."
“And he owned a lot more houses, here in the Philippines and abroad. If he hadn't been in an accident, he might not have come home yet.” Yaya Rosa motioned her to follow the old nanny. She pulled out photo albums from a drawer under the TV and gave it to Love. “His pictures were there. Go back to your room first before looking at it to avoid him catching you not…being you. He’ll be out of the pool any time now to have his breakfast. I’ll tell you stories about him next time.”
"A-are you going to tell him what you found out about me?” she asked worriedly and hugged the album tightly. She had to prepare herself then.
Yaya Rosa waved her hand dismissively. “No, of course not! It was him who was more pretentious anyway.”
“I feel guilty. He had been good to me. I might have been bothering him too much.”
“It’s nothing. Don’t worry about it. Just let him take care of you because you needed it. Women had spoiled that young man too much anyway. It would be good for him to be more responsible with women from now on. You can just tell him the truth when the right time comes.”
She hugged the old nanny. “Thank you, Yaya Rosa!"
She remembered her mother who had always been by her side even when she did something silly. She finally had another person who knew the truth about her, someone she could trust. Her burden of guilt was lessened
a little bit now that she didn’t have to pretend in front of Yaya Rosa.
“But can you tell me what you know about Mitos?"
The nanny tapped her back. “It's up to Eron when to tell you the truth. When he’s ready, he’ll tell you everything.”
