Wearing her usual yellow greenish outfit, she had a square neck yellow green crop top matched with a white high waist pants. She had silver with green diamond earrings and a silver necklace. She walks with her white high heels down the corridor to the cafeteria of the publishing company.
She looked around to find Mr. Frendo as she saw him standing in a corner while waving. She smiled and walked towards him.
“Hi.” She greeted him.
“Hello.” He beamed, shyly. “Y-You look beautiful.”
“You look good too, Mage.”
They then settled down.
“I am sorry if I invited you to the company’s café instead of some prestigious restaurants.”
“It’s okay. I am okay with anything. Besides, I also have something to do here so it is better to have a talk here. Moreover, this company’s cafeteria is really good.”
He smiled. “Thank you for your kindness.”
“You’re too formal for a friend, Mage.”
“Ah, haha. I am just a bit awkward because there are so many eyes gazing towards us.” He scratched the back of his head.
“It’s okay. Just focus on asking me questions.”
“A-Alright. I will start asking questions. But let us order something first.”
“Okay.”
On the other hand, Jacob was busy checking on something while talking to a stakeholder. He has been busy since the dinner party. Adding more writers and more genres of books had become a large success but also his work was tripled. He is not the only one that is busy but his assistant and secretary as well. And because of this, they are hiring another secretary.
“Excuse me, sir.”
He looked at his secretary.
“The applicants are now complete. We must begin the interview.”
He immediately stood up and fixed his necktie before following his secretary.
They got inside the interview room and started it right away. Mr. Des Fluers was only reading the resume of each one of the applicants and asked them a few questions. Sometimes it was personal but sometimes it was normal. It looked like a simple interview that you don’t need to worry about. That is why the interview did not take long. But of course, since this is the first time that the CEO of the company interviewed the applicants himself, no one can deny how intimidating it is inside the interview room.
As time goes on, the room becomes gloomy and dark because the CEO seems bored and the handsomeness of the CEO becomes vibrant, making the female employees do their best to be hired in order to work under him. Since then, that publishing company had a lot to brag about, especially that the CEO is young, single, handsome and rich.
After an hour and half, Jacob went outside the interview room, sighing in relief that the interview had finally come to an end. But then, the door opened only for him to see a familiar beautiful woman waiting outside, surprising him a bit and realized what she had said last night.
As soon as their eyes met, Kassandra beamed. “Hi, cheri.”
And with that, his lips directly curved sideways as he took steps towards her, spreading his arms like he was summoning her to come to him. Kassandra laughed at that rare sight and took steps towards her as she wrapped her arms around him.
“I almost did not recognize you. You look so beautiful, cheri.” He commented.
Kassandra scoffs. “Do you want to know how you looked a while ago?”
Jacob instantly shook his head. “No. I bet you will say that I look like a tree again.”
She laughed and loosened the hug to look at him.
“That’s not it. This time, you look like a father who longed for his daughter for a long time.” She chuckled.
“Really? Do I look bad?”
“No. no. You’re handsome no matter what you do.”
They were laughing while everyone who saw them stopped to glance, even some applicants who were still there watching how the gloomy environment had become chilly.
Seeing the handsome stone cold CEO laughing with a gorgeous and rich-looking woman, they have thought of something really a bit impossible. To those who had not seen them in the dinner party back then, they would really think that the stone cold CEO fell in love and the only one who can make him relax, laugh, and bloomy is only that woman.
Kassandra and Jacob had to leave the company for some purpose. That is why Jacob’s assistant was left as the authorized person. Now, they are headed to a tailor shop because of the upcoming event they need to attend on Monday.
After going to that shop, they went to a restaurant for their late lunch.
“I wanted to stay normal in the wedding but my designer is just so so.” Kassandra spoke.
“I wonder how Harlorn looks when he sees me at his wedding. The last time we talked, he told me not to attend his wedding.”
Jacob got confused.
“You talked to him?”
“Yes.”
“Alone?”
She hummed. “Uh huh? That was last week. We coincidentally met in the mall and told me that he checked their wedding rings.
Of course, he doesn't want me to attend.”
“Why is that?”
She shrugged. “You can say he is still sorry to me? He was thinking that I might not have been over him and that he doesn’t want to feel bad on his wedding day.”
Jacob did not speak and Kassandra noticed it. What this silence means is that he is confused and that he wanted to ask something but chose to not speak.
“Aren’t you gonna ask me what actually happened between me and Harlorn?”
Kassandra saw how his hands stilled, making her smirk.
“I… I am not going to ask since it’s within you and him. But if you don’t mind, you can tell me.”
She laughed at his obvious reply.
“Hmmm.” Kassandra stopped slicing her food and stared at him with a smile on her lips.
“Harlorn and I dated for about three years. I met him in college and he is one of the richest students in the university. But the reason why our relationship ended was that I found him cheating on me with my half sister. And because Romania wanted to hurt me so bad, she didn’t give up on him. It is not just because she wanted to hurt me but also because Harlorn is a big time.” She showed three fingers like the sign of ‘ok’.
“You know what does big time mean?”
Jacob did not speak.
“It means he got money. Who doesn’t want to get married to a rich man?” She shrugged.
“And because Harlorn is also a fool. He chose Romania because she is the legitimate daughter. End of the story.” She made a small laugh in the end before continuing her journey in eating. But she also noticed that Jacob had become silent. Does he not remember that they talked about this before? Well, maybe he doesn't remember it because they were drunk.
“I’m sorry if I talked about another man on our date.” She apologized and took a sip of the wine beside her.
“Anyways, if you think that I got to be with you because of your money, think about how much money I make for me to stay with you.
I admit that I had no pride in myself before, but of all the things I have faced this past few years, I have come to value myself more and that I need to love who I am and what I have. And that I need to work hard for myself so I can get what I want. Life is so simple to imagine right? Yesterday was like we’re within the boundaries of our family and now we were both disowned.” She chuckled.
On the other hand, Jacob was actually not thinking of anything she assumed. He was just happy deep within his soul that this woman never gets tired of speaking to him although he doesn’t really know what to react or how to reply.
He was so happy that she speaks whatever is on her mind and whatever she thinks of what he thinks. On the back of his head, he sighs in relief with a heavenly smile on his lips and says.
This woman should be mine, alone.
