Kassie was staring at the calendar while Inna was helping her fold the washed clothes. Inna noticed this and she was currently looking at her, confused and dazed. Inna looked at her then to the calendar Kassie is staring at.
What might she be thinking that she had been looking at the calendar and the time since yesterday?
“Is it an anniversary?” Inna speculated and Kassie immediately came back to her senses.
“N-No.”
Come to think of it. Kassie had no idea when she had an official relationship with Jacob. She had no idea with their anniversary or the number of year they are in relationship-
‘Oh, I think we’re running a year in a relationship’
“Are you worried about something?” Inna asked again. She is starting to worry about Kassie.
She beamed. “A death anniversary actually.”
“Oh my gosh. I’m sorry.”
“It’s fine.” She showed a smile while thinking about what Jacob might be doing now.
She was referring to Jacob’s ex-fiance's death anniversary as well as his unborn child. She could not stay still thinking about how he would be doing now, especially that tomorrow will be a depressing day for him.
She wanted to contact him but she is feeling restless and anxious about knowing what could be his reaction. Kassie knows that he might not be over with it but she is willing to wait for him because she knows how pain locks your heart when you lose someone you deeply love.
“You need to rest, Kassie.” Inna reminded because she can see that Kassie is always distracted.
“No no, I’m fine.”
Inna took her hand and held it.
“Please rest. The madam has been using you all these past weeks. Just obey me this time okay?” She beamed.
“Even in this little way, I can help you.”
Kassie wasn’t able to speak and just found herself smiling because she knows she cannot resist Inna’s request.
“Alright and please don’t exhaust yourself too. You have a lovely baby inside you.”
Inna let out a small laugh. “It will be fine. I will ask Aiya to help me with this. Go to bed.”
“Thank you, Inna.”
She can’t just rest. She wanted to know what Jacob was doing.
She was about to change her maid uniform to pajamas when she got a glimpse of her phone and saw missed calls and messages. So then she took it with a plan on calling him but then as she started reading the messages, she thought that she didn't need to call him.
‘Seems like you’re busy, cheri.’
‘I miss you.’
‘I wanted to see you but you’re not picking up.’
‘Do you know what day tomorrow is? As soon as I saw the date, you were the one who came to my mind first.’
‘I was thinking if you’ll get mad at me if I am thinking about them.’
‘I didn’t come to work today, cheri.’
She was mad.
She was mad not because of Jacob but to the fact that she didn’t get the chance to pick up his calls because she was so focused on the madam. And now she is thinking that she was so selfish of the thought that she is always thinking about herself and did not think about how Jacob feels.
She had a lot of confidence that Jacob would be hers but she never thought about considering his feelings especially when she just left him without a proper talk.
She dropped her body on the bed and sighed while staring at the ceiling.
Now she misses him. She wanted to see him but she needs to wait for at least a day or two to see him again.
She was in the middle of falling asleep when her phone rang and then she was shocked to see Jacob’s name on her screen so that is why she directly answered the call.
“Cheri?” she asked, her heart beating.
“I am on my way there. Prepare a good tea to see me.”
She instantly got up. Her eyes were wide because of the sudden announcement.
“W-What do you mean?”
“I will be paying a visit to my dear mother, cheri, to make a mess.”
She instantly got worried but when she heard the last words, her lips crept up.
“Oh, that is new. What do you plan?”
“Hmm, just wanna scare her a bit?”
“That’s interesting. I will be waiting.”
“Yes.”
Kassie directly hangs up and excitedly goes out her room to prepare for a tea to serve.
“The madam and the master is so furious now”
“Huh? Why? What happened?”
“I heard her talking about young master Jacob. He went to the company disguised as young master Jaco and bullied Mrs. Salvatoria and her daughter.”
Kassie laughed secretly from their gossip.
‘Really? Jacob did that to those two?’
“Young master Jacob is here! Young master Jacob is here!” Shana announced and Kassie was the first one to move to prepare snacks.
“I’ll serve the snacks.” She volunteered as she went to the living room with the snacks until she saw Jacob looking at the family picture where the married couple and his younger brother were painted.
“My little brother… you aren’t happy.” Jacob turned his head to his parents.
“I’ve heard that you’ve made a mess in my sister in-law’s school? I was so triggered that you are now taking action to make my little brother’s life miserable just how you did to me.”
Kassandra placed the snacks on the table and she stopped when she heard him talk again.
“How beautiful she is to be just a servant.” He chuckled before looking straight at his father.
There was a smile on Kassie’s lip when she was going back to the kitchen. She was also eavesdropping on how he threatened his parents before leaving.
She directly ran to the back door of the mansion as she directed to the back gate where she would be waiting for Jacob.
She remained standing there until she saw Jacob’s car approaching in her direction. When the car stopped in front of her, Jacob then got out of the car and took steps towards her and then he wrapped his arms around her.
Kassandra suddenly chuckled because she just recalled Jacob’s threat to his parents a while ago.
“If it was my first time hearing such a threat that I would tremble in fear,” she commented “But then now, I find it funny.” She chuckled again.
“You’re such a tease.” Jacob chuckled and kissed her forehead. “And Dad is such a good actor. I wanted to laugh.”
Kassandra pinched his waist and looked at his eyes.
“Just like you, man. Like father, like son.”
Jacob laughed before kissing her lips.
“I really want to spend the night with you, cheri.”
“You know you can’t today.”
“Yeah that is why I wanted to tell you that I’m visiting Jaco and his wife.”
She nodded. “Got it.”
“Would you allow me to drink and get drunk?”
Kassandra touched his face.
“I’ll let you do what you want today and tomorrow.”
She saw the sadness in his eyes while he was staring at her. He then touched her forehead to hers.
“Just tomorrow, cheri. One last time”
She nodded. “I love you.”
He kissed her forehead before hugging her tight.
