Kassandra was tired when she entered the maid quarters. She then saw Inna there. Luckily, she had convinced Jacob to let her go before the madam’s vacation ended.
She could only sigh when she remembers what she did to convince Jacob within two days so she can do what she wants.
She smiled at Inna. “Hi, I’m back~”
“Kassie! You’re finally back!” Inna cheerfully greeted her.
“Have you had a good time?” She was smiling while asking that and she is also fixing the clothes to the bed.
Kassie showed a smile, feeling like a problem was out of her body. She started undressing her clothes and Inna immediately noticed red marks in some part of her body.
“Oh my god, what happened to your body, Kassie?”
Kassie smiled. “My boyfriend was a hungry wolf when we met after a month and a half. I barely managed to convince him to let me go.” She is now remembering how she was nagged by Jacob when she told him about working as a maid in his former home.
“Your boyfriend sure is a dog. Are you okay about this? Won’t it ruin your beautiful skin?”
“I’m alright. I like how we make love and how he leaves marks as if I am his only love. These are just red now because it is still fresh. After a week, everything will be back to how it is.”
“That’s a relief then.”
Inna didn’t speak anymore while Kassie was wearing her maid uniform.
“Uhmm…”
Kassie’s eyes searched for Inna. She seems to have something to say but she is doubting it.
“Do you have something to say?”
Kassie immediately noticed how Inna’s body flinched and trembled all of a sudden. She directly draws closer as she holds her two hands.
“Are you okay? Tell me what the problem is. I am here. I am your roommate and I am your friend. Trust me.”
Since when Kassie had worked in the Des Fluers mansion, she still could not figure out why the madam had been making Inna visit her in the night when a doctor is present. She had already investigated the doctor and it was a gynecologist. She was thinking if the madam is pregnant but she could not spot any pregnancy sign. She is also thinking if it was Inna but what is the connection?
“I… I’m fine, y-you don’t need to w-worry…
“Is this related to the madam?”
Kassandra felt the stilling of her body.
“Tell me what is really going on with you and the madam. I will do my utmost to help you, Inna.”
Inna’s tears slowly came out her eyes as she gained courage to speak.
“A-Are you some undercover agent? P-Please… Please… help me…”
Kassie felt a sudden obligation to not take this supposed statement for granted with how Inna spoke. And she is a bit nervous about what Inna is going to say.
“Alright. I am not an undercover agent but I can help you if you tell me the story.” Kassie started caressing her back.
“Relax first. Relax. No one will be listening. There are only the two of us.”
She continued caressing her back as she hugged her to calm her down. She is thinking about what it might be. She had a clue but she cannot guarantee it with strong evidence. And it seems like Inna is the one who will help her know the truth.
“I… I’m pregnant, Kassie…”
Her eyes circled.
“I am three months pregnant with the master’s child.”
Her whole body froze. This is it. This is the feeling she expected. It is something that shocked her to death.
Inna tightened her hug to Kassie.
“But we didn’t do anything. I… I have never even talked to the master in my five years working here. I … I don’t know… I don’t know how it happened! I just woke up and the madam is telling me that I will bear the master’s child!”
Kassie’s brows furrowed. How is that possible? This is so suspicious and… this is a crime. How did Inna get pregnant if she hadn’t been touched by the master--- unless…
She tightened her grip on her clothes.
“It’s alright. It’s alright. Thank you for saying this.”
This is so much information to get. Just what is the madam’s plan to go through all these? Is she targeting the Des Fluers’ properties??
Kassie asked her everything Inna knew that day until the evening came, so she went out the Des Fluers’ gate and looked for a car.
She went inside the car and instantly let out a heavy sigh after settling down. She leaned her back to her seat.
“I still can’t believe what I just discovered, Jacob.”
“What is it?”
She turned her eyes to Jacob.
“I was so shocked that I couldn’t breathe. How much more are you going to be in trouble your whole life?”
He was not able to speak for a second.
“Tell me.” He requested. His voice is calm.
Kassandra grabbed his hand to hold it.
“I will put it in the simplest way so you won't be too shocked.”
She paused within three seconds before speaking again.
“It is still unknown if the fake madam is aiming for your family’s wealth or not but she had picked a beautiful maid in the household to be performed with intracytoplasmic sperm injection or known as ICSI.
ICSI is a specialized form of In Vitro Fertilization that involves the injection of a single sperm to a mature egg to create an offspring. The fake madam has been trying it on some women until it worked with one of the maids in the household named Inna. In short, you are having an illegitimate sibling in the womb of that maid and it will be used by the fake madam against the Des Fleurs.”
She looked at expressionless look on his face but she could feel the trembling and freezing of his hand.
“And the worst part about this is that papa doesn’t know about this.”
Kassandra saw the dropping of Jacob’s tears from his eyes and she immediately pulled him to her as she wrapped her arms around him.
“I know that you are not sad about having a sibling but you are sad about how your father has suffered from all of this mess.”
Jacob wrapped his arms around her and held her tight.
“I will do my best to uncover this mystery, Jacob so we can finally end this suffering to your family and that you will all be finally reunited.”
