Because the Des Fluers family hasn't reunited for years, Kassandra let them be in one place for long. She could hear the loud laughter of these people in the library of the mansion and it made her so happy. She had a smile on her lips when she walked to Prun’s room, Jacob’s younger brother’s wife.
“You’re back, Kassie!” Prun cheered when she saw her coming.
“So how are they?” She added.
Kassandra sat on an extra chair near the crib where their toddler named ‘Ceil’ was.
“They are having fun.” She replied, smiling as she let Ceil hold her forefinger with his tiny hand.
Her heart instantly softened when Ceil held it and laughed like he won a trophy.
“I’m so happy to see Jaco having fun with his complete family. I am so grateful to you, Kassie.”
Kassandra started tickling Ceil’s waist.
“No biggie. I am also glad that I’ve helped this harmonious family and stopped Dregion’s crimes.” She replied and then giggled because of Ceil cuteness.
“Ceil is so lively and cute. I hope he can be friends with my future children.”
Prun chuckled, “Jacob really likes you, Kassie. I know he will treat you right in the future! And when you get pregnant, I can guarantee you that if you ask for mangoes, he will fly to another country just to buy it.”
Prun was laughing while saying this and was also imagining it. “When I was pregnant, I didn’t ask for anything but I requested my husband to cook and do everything for me. I also cry when someone eats what he made for me.”
Prun started telling her about her experiences in her pregnancy and she also listened out of interest because Prun is really talkative and she could also learn what it takes to be pregnant. Until then, when the dinner came and everyone was on the dining table, Kassandra felt nauseous for a while but she acted normal.
“I really hope that you will get married soon, Jacob and Kassandra.” The madam smiled and looked at Kassandra who’s listless.
“Oh dear, are you okay?” she directly asked after seeing Kassandra’s pale cheeks.
Kassandra made a sly smile to show that she feels comfortable.
“I- I’m alright, mama.”
“Okay, tell us when you feel uncomfortable.” The madam replied, worry is written on her face.
She just smiled and then felt Jacob’s hand on her thigh.
“Are you really okay?” he asked.
She made a small smile to not make him worry.
“I’m really fine.”
They started to eat and Kassandra just went along with the conversation of the family until then, at her fifth attempt to eat, she couldn’t make it anymore and ran off to the kitchen sink to vomit everything she ate.
She couldn’t feel her body because she felt weak and her head was spinning. She was so dazed that she didn't even recognize Jacob holding her and was asking if she was fine. So then, a glass of water was handed to her as she took a small sip.
She felt her body being lifted and then after some second, Jacob’s face appeared in her eyes. She was put in a cushion and her body was covered. And then she felt her hand being held tight and Jacob’s voice covered her ears.
“Cheri! Are you okay?”
She wanted to speak but she doesn't know if she can be heard. That is why she moved her head up before she felt sleepy and everything went black.
The next time Kassandra’s consciousness went back, she saw a familiar room, feeling normal. She moved her arms to test if she could move. So then, she slowly sits down only to see Jacob sleeping by her side with the dextrose hanging on the other side.
She directly remembered what happened last night and suspected what could be the result.
“Hey,” she started shaking Jacob’s body to wake him up.
Jacob, who was awake the whole night, opened his eyes and got up after seeing her.
“Are you feeling well? Is there anything that makes you feel uncomfortable?” Jacob touched her cheeks and forehead.
“I’m okay. Am I preggy?” she directly asked because that was only what she could think of, after recalling what happened.
“Yes,” Jacob answered and wrapped his arms around her. “We’re gonna be parents, cheri. I am so happy.”
Kassandra could not contain the happiness she felt although she had already thought about being pregnant. She was surprised when she did not need to but still, the excitement of having a cute little being made by her and Jacob is overflowing with emotion.
“What a crybaby,” she cries while wiping the tears falling from her eyes.
Jacob kissed her forehead, also crying. “I wanted to tease you for seeing you cry for the first time but the situation…” he laughed. “why are we crying haha…”
Without knowing, Kassandra is also laughing. “Yeah, it is so early in the morning and your eye bags are showing” she mocked, pointing out Jacob’s eye bags.
“You passed out last night, how can I sleep soundly?” Jacob
“Well, I’m sorry about that. I don’t know that I am actually having our child”
“What should we name it?”
“Are you that excited to think of a name already? We don’t even know its gender.”
“Yeah I am really excited.”
Kassandra chuckles, “If it’s a girl, I’ll name it Braelliana, my mother’s name.”
Jacob held her hand, “if it’s a boy, he will be Roence, from my father’s name.”
Their foreheads touched. “There will be no hard feelings huh?” Kassandra chuckled.
“Yeah, that is why we should just hope that it will be twins. If not, we could make another one.”
They both chuckled, both happy and content.
