Chapter 31 How did you know what my size is?

"Do not worry. I will take care of your cousin,” ‘Mitos’ said.
They took the path at the back of the house where there was a stair that led them directly to the beach.
“There is a stair here and it has ten steps. Then about fifty steps and we’ll be at the beach.”
She closed her eyes and let her lead her. He let her sit on the bamboo bench. "Is the sun setting now?"
"Yes," he said and did not let go of her hand. “The sun is red-orange so the water looks like gold. Even the clouds are like gold. I hope you can see what I see.”
She chose to close her eyes. She didn’t want his effort in describing the sunset to go to waste. So even though she couldn't see the sunset at that moment, she felt like she was still ‘watching’ it because of him. She didn't think he would bother himself in describing the sunset.
“There! The sun is going down too fast,” he said. “The sky is also getting darker now. Don’t be sad, okay? You’ll see this again tomorrow.”
“Do you remember you used to complain when I asked you to describe the sunset from another country? You said the sunset was just the same. Then when I asked you to describe the places you've been to, you always say that you'll just send me a postcard. You seem to have changed suddenly.”
He couldn’t answer. He probably didn’t expect she would say those things. Mitos has no patience in describing things for her. He said there were more important things to tell than describing the places he had been to. And that she could just look at the pictures he would send if she really wanted to see it.
“I can tell you everything now. My description may not be as good as those in the pictures, but I'll tell you about my experiences in my favorite places.”
"Thank you." She was really impressed with his dedication. She was excited to listen to his stories when she suddenly remembered something. "Why did Yaya Rosa call you Eron earlier?"
"Oh, that?" He stretched out both his arms and placed them on the bamboo he was leaning on so she could not see his face. But she could feel that he was a little agitated. “That's what my boss calls me. He said he didn't like ‘Mitos’ so he changed my name. Everyone else has stuck to calling me Eron. So I hope you will also get used to it.”
She swung her legs loosely. “Is that so? Eron. Is it okay if I just call you Eron as well? I thought maybe you prefer to be called Eron now. Maybe you have a lot of bad memories when people call you by your original name. And that’s why it was okay for you to change your name.”
“Mitos or Eron, I don’t really mind whatever you call me. Feel free to call me whatever name you want.”
“I'll just call you Eron then. Eron.”
It seemed to breathe a sigh of relief when she called him Eron. She was also comfortable calling him by his real name.
"What’s your friend’s name? The one who owned this resort and that condo?” she asked as they headed back to the resthouse.
"Cam… Cam!" he said and nodded. “His name is Cam. Yaya Rosa raised him. Unfortunately, he’s in Argentina right now.”
"Was it really okay for him that we slept in his condo and even taking a vacation here?”
"Yes. It was better than leaving his properties unused.”
She squeezed his hand. "Thank you!"
“Don't think too much of it. Also, I think it would be better to check on the clothes I bought earlier for you and Kulas.”
She stopped walking. “You bought us clothes? But…”
“That's why I didn't take you shopping with me. I knew you would object. Just let me do this for you, okay? It's just a few dresses anyway, for you to have something to wear here on the beach. You’ll be here for a month. Just think of it as my ‘take home’ gift for you.”
She just shook her head. She owed him more now. "How did you know what my size is?"
“I estimated your size. It's quite easy."
“You never went shopping with me before. Now you’re an expert in women's sizes? You seem to be so used to giving gifts to women.”
“Because it's part of my job. My boss takes me sometimes when he’s shopping for a gift for his girlfriend.
Don't get mad, okay?” he explained.
“And don’t be too defensive. I’m just asking.”
A warning that she should not fall in love with him. She saw he was a playboy. She would only have her heart broken into shreds.
