Bradley’s POV. I removed the bandage from my chest to show my injury to Johnny. "Do you think Luna Maurice will lie just to cover me up?" I asked with a mocking smile on my lips. Johnny was speechless when he saw the fresh wound on my chest. That's why I smiled secretly. I saw this coming, that's why I made a way. When Leila turned around to go down the stairs, I re-opened my wound while Zeke was watching. I don't need to hide from my brother. In fact, Zeke knows everything... Including my suspicions while I was in Paragon City. "Bradley, you don't need to show your injury. Johnny is just wondering, since you are not in your bed." Leila quickly took the medical kit from Zeke and started applying ointment to my wound before wrapping it in a bandage. "It's amazing... if I hadn't seen your wound, I wouldn't have believed that you had an injury," Johnny uttered in his deep voice. I sneered and shrugged. "I'm the alpha, so do you think I'll let someone see me vulnerable?" "Alpha or not, you need to stay in your room," Leila stated while frowning. "I will once he leaves..." I answered. Then I focused my gaze on Johnny. "You should leave now. Aside from the fact that I need to rest, you are also needed at the pack-house. Aunt Maurice can't handle everything on her own." "About Leila's abductors-" "-You don't need to worry about that... Right now, you need to focus on the rogues in the forest. I already command everyone for a cleaning up-" "Cleaning up? Are you sure the Sapphire pack can handle the rogues?" Johnny asked in doubt. "I made some arrangements. Luna Maurice already knew what to do. She will tell you everything." After saying this, I stood up, a sign that the conversation was over. "I'll show you the way out," Zeke said quickly. Like me, he stood up and reached for his little arm for Johnny to show him the way out. "Thank you for the fruit..." I said. Leila said nothing because I pulled her to the kitchen. "What was that?" Leila asked when we got to the kitchen. I let her go and went to the fridge as if nothing had happened and heard. "Except fruits. What other foods do you like to eat?" Leila's frown won't go away while her gaze follows me. " I know what you did back there... Bradley. You are being mean to the man who saved me." "What are you talking about? Leila, as your man, I thank him for saving you..." I reasoned while taking out the milk. I poured it into the glass and handed it to Leila with a smile. “Really? You didn't even give us a chance to talk...” Leila complained with wide eyes as she accepted the glass of milk. "Because you have nothing to talk about. Also, he is needed in the pack house." I answered seriously. "By this time, the Sapphire pack is preparing to clear the forest. So Johnny's present is much more needed there than here." Leila stared at me with guilt on her face. “Did you give the order to wipe out all the rogues in the forest because of what happened to me? Bradley, that's very absurd.” I couldn't help but cringe at this comment. “Leila, do you know how dangerous rogues are? They don't know the words mercy...” I paused and signed. “The reason my father got ill is that of the injury he sustained when he saved his pack from the rogues who attacked the city... That attack killed ten pack members. Two of them were women.” Leila's face was indescribable because she had already heard this story. "I know rogues are cruel, but killing everyone? What if someone living there is living a peaceful life?" she still reasoned. 'She is indeed my little Leila... I uttered to myself. "I gave the order to kill those who will fight and arrest those who surrender." I saw Leila's face light up, so I continued preparing food. "Where is Zeke?" Leila asked, while watching me. "Running... When Zeke discovered he is the reason you fought without shifting, he becomes devastated. That's why, from that moment, your little brother started his training," I said and put down the plate of corn soup and mashed potatoes. "Is this edible?" Leila asked, but she had already started taking a bite. Since Leila doesn't remember everything, I try my best to give her some ideas. "So, is my father alive?" Leila asked when we talked about Arnold while looking at the family album. [The sound of an approaching car made me frown.] "Are you expecting something?" I asked, but I immediately took it back. Except for Johnny, no one dares to come to my house. "Who do you think that is? Perhaps one of Sapphire's members... What if something happened?" Leila immediately felt apprehensive. She closed the album and hurriedly stood up to greet the 'visitor'. When the car entered the gate, I already knew who this 'visitor' was, and that's why I immediately felt annoyed. So instead of following Leila, I went into my room to take a shower. "Damn, it looks like I pierce myself more than I should be..." I murmured when I saw my chest wound in the mirror. As the water runs through my body, my blood mixes with it, but I don't care, since my heart is already healed. After showering, I called Luna Maurice to check the pack's status. Then I called Arnold to tell him about Leila. "I can't go back... During my search, I found some news regarding the Paragon pack." Arnold responded seriously when I said that he could come back. "What news? Are they scheming something against Sapphire?" I asked right away. "As of now, I can't give you a proper answer. But if this is true- then you and Leila need to leave the city..." Arnold retorted with firmness. Meanwhile, Leila was standing at the entrance, waiting for the driver to get out of the car. "Eunice..." she whispered with indifference. Eunice closes the door of her car while her glare is focused on Leila. "What are you-" Leila couldn't continue with her question when Eunice's palm landed on her cheek. "You! Bradley suffers again because of you! When will you stop bringing bad luck to Bradley?! Or will you wait for him to die before you disappear!" Eunice roared while pointing her finger at Leila.
