Early in the morning, Leila woke up to the aroma of coffee. “Hmm...you got up early,” she mumbled while keeping her eyes closed. “I promised you last night that I would fix the problems in the pack house... However, I don’t want you to wake up without me by your side,” Bradley responded as he placed the cup of coffee on the side table and joined Leila on the bed. Leila leaned over to hug Bradley. “I wish I could go with you, but since the trouble started with me, it’s better not to.” Bradley kisses Leila’s forehead. “Everything that happened is not your fault... The problem has been there for a long time; it has not been given attention. But don’t worry, since I am in charge of everything, I will ensure all the problems will be fixed.” Leila left the lean and stared at Bradley. “Please check your temperament... Remember that they are your pack, not your enemy...” Since she knows Bradley’s patience wears out, she fears that the conversation with Bradley will end up in a worse situation. “The problem with Sapphire does not come from the pack members; they remain loyal to me. However, the Council-they are a different matter. They cause the disturbances in our city because they never recognize the power of the alpha nor the Luna.” Bradley explained, reached for the cup, and handed it to Leila. “Thank you.” Leila accepted the cup and signed. “... Just promise me you will get back here unharmed.” “Ha Ha Ha, is that really for them or me?” Bradley giggled and stood up. “Anyway, if you get bored and want to have fun, call me first... I want to know what you will do or where you’re going. It would be better if you could wait here at home.” Leila nodded while pouting. She would not leave the house unaccompanied, and Bradley knew this. “By the way, some of my trusted people are rooming in the vicinity; that’s why you’re protected here, but in case there’s a problem, call me right away,” Bradley instructed before leaning down to kiss Leila again. Leila and Bradley have discussed this, and both agreed that she needs protection. That’s why the latter called his trusted subordinate and introduced Leila. “Be good...” Bradley said, before leaving the room. “Is this my future life with him? Well, if it is, then I will accept it with all my heart... It’s a good feeling that someone is doing all the trouble to ensure my safety,” Leila uttered with a broad smile and sipped her coffee. After finishing the coffee, Leila got up and took a shower. Since she would remain in the house for the whole day, she baked cookies. But in the middle of it, the guard entered to inform her they would go to the back of the house to check the forest. At lunchtime, Leila received a call from Bradley, asking about her condition and what she was doing. “I’m dying of boredom...” Leila responded with a joke. “How about you? How was your mission?” “Well, talking to a bunch of idiots is not a tough job; that’s why I also called to tell you that Aunt Maurice and I will be late... So don’t wait for us for dinner,” Bradley responded. “Okay, how about Zeke?” Leila felt sad, but she didn’t show it. She knows everyone will be busy and understands because it’s for her and her baby. [Leila hears a loud crash at the other end.] “Zeke will be home soon. Anyway, I need to go... See you later.” Bradley responded. “Wait! What was-“ BEEP... BEEP... Leila did not finish her remarks, because Bradley had already hung up. “What was that? Is there a problem at the Sapphire house?” she mumbled as she frowned. “No... I shouldn’t be thinking negatively.” To free her mind from worries, Leila distracts herself by watching a movie that works. Her attention was only pulled from the TV when she heard a car- it was Zeke, who had come from school. “Join me... Bradley and mom will be late tonight,” Leila smiled. “I know... Big Brother called me, asking to buy you some healthy food,” Zeke responded as he put down a paper bag. “Eat this one... I don’t want my niece to be stupid, just like her mother.” after this, Zeke turned around and went upstairs. “Where are you going? Let’s eat together...” Leila called. Since she arrived, she has been used to Zeke’s strange treatment. “Change clothes,” Zeke responded without looking back. Leila smiled while shaking her head... “Why do I find my little brother amusing? Gosh... he’s so cute,” she murmured while taking out the food he had brought for her. Leila was about to eat when she heard a crash from outside. “What was that?” She murmured, turning off the TV to listen to her surroundings. “AWW-OHH!!!” Leila shivered to hear the howling from outside; the spoon she held dropped and fell to the floor. “There is an intruder!” Leila murmured after a few seconds of delay. Carried by intense fear, Leila’s mind became blank. “Stupid Leila! Pull yourself up!” Zeke’s voice brought Leila back to her senses. “We need to get out of here!” Zeke added with calmness. My little brother... I can see the fear in his eyes, but he is trying his best to calm down for me! Leila mumbled to her mind. Because of this, she took a deep breath and nodded. “Don’t worry, Bradley.“ “-That howling is from Big Brother’s pack... It means we must leave the house,” Zeke interrupted Leila’s other remarks, ... because they can’t defeat the intruder! [A crash is heard outside the house again.] “Let me call Bradley.“ “We have little time! Call him later!” Zeke quickly replied and tugged Leila away, leaving behind the sound of their argument. “Zeke, where are we going? Our enemy is outside! If we go out, they will catch us easily...” Leila’s reasoning, but she follows her little brother’s steps. “We don’t need to go out and fight them to escape...” Zeke answered, and opened the door to the stockroom. “This is a secret passage out of the house; if we use this, we will not encounter the enemy.” Zeke and Leila used the secret tunnel to escape; while walking, the latter tried to call Bradley, but there was no answer, so Leila felt worried. “Zeke, we have to go to the pack house. I have a bad feeling...” Leila remarked as her heartbeat was deafening with intense worry.
