Bradley POV. [His Day...]
“This is bad... It seems I underestimated the council too much,” I mumbled after I ended the call with Johnny. In the few days I stayed home, I did not stop my investigation. The night I went to the pack house, I planned to kill Adam. But I was too late because he was dead when I went to his cage.
“Looks like the Head Council will never stop until he sees my wrath. How dare he use this trick on me!” I roared while my grip on the steering wheel tightened.
A few minutes later, I reached the pack house, and Johnny immediately greeted me with a folder containing the information he had gathered.
“Is this complete?” I asked him to keep walking.
“Yeah... It looks like half of the Sapphire City is owned by the Head Council,” Johnny uttered with a sneer as he followed my path.
“Huh! The Land of the Secret Society was transferred to his name last week... Perhaps this is the reason he is forcing me to release Adam- he got the payment,” I uttered while glittering my teeth.
“Exactly... But I’m wondering why did Adam end up dead?”
I turned to Johnny. “You’ll find out later...”
Together we entered the pack house where the council and the officials of the Sapphire pack were waiting.
“Finally! The powerful alpha of the Sapphire pack shows up!” The Council head mockingly commented.
“Something is off... The last time we talked, he almost peed in fear of me.” I murmured to myself. I looked at everyone in the room; they were all bowing.
“I’ve been busy these past few days, thanks to you...” I responded with the corner of my lips twisting with a smirk. “Besides your illegal deals with other packs, I also had to identify your assets, which is overwhelming... Imagine owning half of the city. That’s a remarkable achievement!”
“Ha Ha Ha! And what’s surprising about my possessions? Even if I own the entire city, it’s not surprising because my ancestors were rich!” the head council responded without concern or embarrassment.
“Your right... Thanks to your clan, you became the Head Council of Sapphire.” I agreed and dropped the folder on the table, walking to the seat of the Head Council.
“Enough! The entire pack has removed you from your position as the alpha of the Sapphire pack!” Ava asserted while glaring at me with her clenched fist.
“Really? On what basis? And how can you remove me as the alpha of the pack?” I murmured with curiosity.
“You exalt yourself. That’s why you thought you couldn’t be removed from your position... However, all the members of the Sapphire pack here agreed to remove you from your position!” the Head Council explained while his hands were spread wide.
I lowered my head and closed my eyes... I stayed in that position for a few minutes, so everyone thought I had lost hope. I am running a few minutes late; my previous meeting was over.
“Looks like Bradley Silva has nothing to say... start denouncing him!” the head council roared.
Ava stood up and glared at Bradley and said, “... I, Ava of the Sapphire pack, denounce you, Bradley Silva, as my Alpha!”
Except for Johnny, everyone in the room did what Ava did.
“Now, the powerful Alpha Bradley Silva is completely powerless!” the council head declared with a broad smile on his face.
“Ha Ha Ha!” I couldn’t stop laughing loudly while keeping my head down.
“You think this is funny? Now that you are no longer our Alpha, I can avenge my brother! You will pay to kill him!” Ava roared and rushed to attack.
But Ava’s claws stopped in midair. The anger in her eyes was replaced by surprise and fear. “You-“
“So, what do you think? Did I lose my power over you? Did your renouncing work out?” I asked and lifted my eyes, staring directly at Ava with my fire-colored eyes.
“Bradley Silva owned the pack...” For the first time, Johnny spoke up. He walked over and stood behind me. “-when I said owned, it means he is the Sapphire pack. The power you got when you became a member came directly from him. The mark on your forehead is a sign of your loyalty to him... so you can’t denounce him just like that.”
“Beta Johnny, thank you for explaining the situation.” I sneered at him before facing everyone. “If you want to leave the Sapphire pack-come forward.”
Stunned by the events, the head council widened his eyes while staring at me. “You! Other alphas don’t have powers like yours, so how are you different?”
“Do I need to answer your question?” I responded with indifference as I walked towards the head council. “I promised to my beloved I would talk to my pack calmly, but I did not promise that I would not use force against you.” After this remark, my fingers wrapped around the neck of the head council. “-How dare you play tricks on me! Killing Adam to get his land and destroy the trust of my pack? Huh! Do you think I don’t know your tricks?”
“Alpha Bradley! That is absurd! My father can’t do that!” Samantha uttered while holding my arm. Worry was reflected in her eyes when she saw her father running out of air.
I glanced at Samantha and smirked. “But he did. Regardless, you know he’s capable of doing evil.”
Samantha didn’t know how to answer that, so she just begged. “My father is a human... So please, Alpha.”
I release the head council not because of Samantha’s request. I released him because I saw Ava approaching.
“You! Did you kill my brother?!”
“Ava! Let my father go!” Samantha roared when Ava held the head council’s arm so tightly that her nails almost sank into his flesh.
“Don’t interfere here!” Ava shook Samantha. “You said you would keep him safe for his land!”
There was no reason for me to watch the end of their story; that’s why I turned around and faced the other pack members. “Everyone may leave. I don’t want a member who doesn’t trust and believe in me!”
Everyone is silent...
“To all who want to leave, you can come to my office...” I added before facing Johnny. “Come with me. Luna Maurice and I need to talk to you about something important.”
