Chapter 115

Three days after the attack on the Sapphire house by the various packs, nothing was heard anywhere in the city, but Leila did not give up hope.
Despite this, nearly half of the members of the Sapphire pack are taken captive and injured, so Leila does everything she can to assist them.
As she had done earlier today, Leila went to the enclosure where the members were being held captive while carrying a first aid kit in each of her arms. She muttered, “Let me in... I need to see my pack!” as she stared intently at the guard that was assigned to the Paragon pack. “I need to see my pack!”
The security guard scowled, but ultimately complied and opened the door to the confinement area. Upon arrival, Leila went straight to her cell after entering the building. This is the second cage that she investigated, but she could not locate Bradley in any of them.
During her search, Leila came across Ava, who, like the other people she had seen, was injured and weak. Concerned, she rushes to treat her.
“Ava... This is Leila speaking... Are you okay?” She murmured in the background as she attended to the sounds.
Ava let out a rumble before opening both of her eyes. You... “What exactly are you doing in this place? How can you—”
“Because Alpha Connor wants me, and because of that, I struck a deal to come in here...” Leila muttered something under her breath as she looked outside to confirm that a member of the Paragon pack was not nearby.
Ava flinched as the alcohol applied to her wounds, but she did not express any displeasure. “Why are you trying to help me out? You are aware of what my brother did to you...”
Leila cracked a grin as she started applying a bandage to the wound. “The mistake made by your brother is not your fault... One more thing, now more than ever, we are going to need each other. We need to put our differences aside and work together if we are going to be successful in overcoming this crisis.”
Ava casts a guilty look in Leila’s direction but does not explain why. “You are correct. What about Bradley, the Alpha? Did you find him?”
Leila gave a little shake of the head. “Not yet. This place is the second one I’ve been to, but I still haven’t seen him... I’m afraid that the alphas are still torturing him...” she said and sat up after finishing Ava’s treatment.
“Thank you,” Ava murmured and leaned against the wall. “Alpha Bradley is tough; that’s why you don’t need to concern about him. Also, I can sense his presence...”
Leila sat up straighter. “Can you determine where Bradley is? I want to see him and make sure he is well.” Her voice was pleading while her eyes were clouded with deep concern. Because the truth is behind her calmness. Fear and anxiety pervaded Leila’s every waking moment.
“I can’t... I can only get a vague sense that he is still alive, but I do not know where he is.” Ava gave a response that contained apologies on both sides. “By the way, do you know anything about Beta Johnny and Luna Maurice?” “Have you heard anything about them?”
Don’t be alarmed; I overheard Alpha Connor having a phone conversation with my mother... “They are in complete agreement about everything,” Leila said in response. She cannot elaborate on other matters because she is not familiar with the specifics of the conversation.
“At the very least, there is some encouraging information...” Ava uttered and signed.
“Hey! You’ve been trapped inside of that shack for far too long! The security officer screamed, showing no emotion. I’m not on your side, so you shouldn’t put your faith in chance!”
Leila let out a sigh as she supported Ava’s weight on her shoulder. Following this remark, Leila pushed herself to her feet and exited the holding cell. “Take care of yourself and make sure your strength comes back...”
“Huh! It is unnecessary for her to regain her strength because the Sapphire pack will serve as an underling to the Paragon pack!” The guard made an insulting remark as he followed Leila around on foot.
“Leila—patience... Ignore this cretin because he cannot provide you with any value.” She mumbled as she tried her best to ignore the security guard.
However, the guard did not stop the vehicle. He persisted in speaking about unpleasant topics throughout the conversation.
Because of this, Leila became irate and let go of the rope. The guard took a direct hit to the face from the medical kit that she was holding when it suddenly flew out of her hands. “—The Sapphire Pack will not be groveling before you! There is no way that Bradley Silva can be defeated! And there is no way I will ever agree to be Luna in your pack!” She let out a ferocious roar.
The guard was so startled that he could not respond. As he continued to look at Leila, his eyes remained wide open.
“Now! Do not be a coward and vent your frustrations to me if you have a problem with the fact that I will be your next Luna. Instead, voice your objection to Alpha Connor by going to him! If you can do that, I will be eternally grateful to you!” A retort was exchanged between Leila and the guard before she marched out of the cage and away from the area.
After coming up empty-handed in her search for Bradley, Leila went back to the pack house to have a conversation with Alpha Connor.
“What exactly do you need this time around?” Alpha Connor inquired without turning his head to look at Leila.
“Bradley. I would like to see Bradley, so please take me to him right away!” While Leila was intently watching what Alpha Connor was doing, she fired back with a retort. He is occupied with studying a blueprint at the moment.
“I will bring you to him in the future; however, not right now...” Alpha Connor insisted, “I have guests coming, so return to your room and do not roam around.”
“Since the very beginning, you have not been telling the truth to me! You assured me you would set the member of the Sapphire pack free, but you never did! They are left in the cage without receiving the care!” Leila let out an angry roar as she realized her mistake.
While Alpha Connor was lowering the blueprint, he squeezed his eyes shut tight. “The member of the Sapphire pack that has been held captive will be freed as soon as your mother, Luna Maurice, arrives—which is in a few minutes from now.”
Leila came to a halt and fixed her gaze on Alpha Connor, attempting to determine whether he was telling the truth or whether he was making up an excuse to get her to leave.
“I’m not making this up. Since you already know, I was having a conversation with your mother—”
“Will you give me permission to speak to my mother?” Leila inquired with some reluctance.
“Of course, Luna Maurice and I already had a deal in place before we started working together. In order to protect the Sapphire pack, she consented to my conditions.” Alpha Connor made this assertion.
Leila did not give a hoot about what Alpha Connor had to say because she was already aware of the fact that her mother was on her way to the pack house. She bolted from the building and dashed to the entrance, where she waited for her mother.
They have already devised a strategy to prevail over the Paragon pack... Leila’s mutterings were filled with joy and anticipation.
Leila’s heart was pounding in anticipation as two cars entered the compound where the Sapphire pack was staying. The wait had not been long enough.
