Eunice's palm landed on Leila's cheek again. This time it was stronger; that is why the latter's face turned.
"You already have Johnny! You said he is kind and caring? So you shouldn't come back! You should stay with him and let Bradley live his life away from you!" Eunice screamed furiously.
Shock overcame Leila. That's why she didn't react; the only thing she did was caress her hurt cheek.
"If I were you, I would stay far away... Away from the people because your presence is a misfortune!" Eunice kept going, not yet satisfied, she raised her hand again, but this time, it didn't land on Leila's cheek.
"What do you think you're doing?" Bradley's crisp voice echoed throughout the household. "Who the hell are you to hurt, my woman?"
"Ugh!" Eunice whimpered in pain when Bradley released her hand violently. With the strength of Bradley's push, she lost her balance and fell to the floor.
"Are you okay? Why did you let her hit you? What if she did worse? You just stay standing while accepting her attack?" Bradley murmured while looking at Leila's cheek.
Eunice is standing, regardless of the pain from the fall. "Bradley... I thought your-"
"You thought I was dying; that's why you dare to attack Leila!" Bradley retorted with indifference. " I already warned you last night... I don't care if you came from the Paragon pack-"
"Bradley, you still side with her?! You almost died because of her! Your status as the alpha of the Sapphire pack is being jeopardized, and yet, here you are, still protecting that girl!" Eunice exclaimed in disbelief.
"She is not just a girl! Leila is my mate, the future Luna of Sapphire pack, and the mother of my offspring! So yes! I will jeopardize everything for her, and when I say everything-it means everything! So get out of here before my patience runs out!" Bradley responded while clenching his fists tightly.
Eunice could not believe what she heard, yet she did not give up. " Bradley, I know you better than you know yourself. I know the Sapphire pack is the most important to you. That's why once all the problems brought by that woman rose, I'm sure you will choose power instead of her, and once it happened- I'm just here... waiting for you." She affirmed with confidence.
"Bradley..." Leila murmured with a trembling voice. She doesn't know why, but she worries about what Eunice said.
"Shh... Don't listen to her. Eunice's crazy and childish. All her world is empty and irrelevant." Bradley affirmed, put his arm around Leila, and led her inside the house.
Sitting on the couch, Bradley's gaze did not leave Leila, while there was doubt there.
"Stop gazing at me... I know I'm useless-"
"That's what I'm wondering about. You're stronger than Eunice; you can keep up with me in speed and fighting, so why do you become vulnerable?" Bradley asked her, while frowning.
"Your joking, right? Although I can fight, I can still distinguish between good and knows." Leila replied in disbelief.
"I'm not joking..." Bradley remains serious. "Since when did you shift into your wolf?"
Leila shook her head quickly. "I haven't tried yet. I'm afraid of having a problem with my pregnancy," she responded with confusion.
“That's absurd! Who told you that?” Bradley asked, took Leila by the hand, and pulled her outside the house.
"What are you doing?" Leila asked with concern.
Bradley replied, his voice full of determination, "I need to see it for myself..." as he turned to face Leila.
"See what?"
"I need to see your wolf, so change..."
Leila's eyes widened, unable to believe what Bradley was making her do. "Are you sure it's safe for the baby?" she asked again.
"Of course... So go," Bradley assured.
With this assurance from Bradley, Leila changed into her wolf, but after a few minutes passed, nothing had changed.
"Don't tell me; you also forgot about changing into your wolf?" Bradley frowned as he stared at Leila.
"Bradley... What should I do? My wolf is not answering me... I think she is gone!" Leila roared as her eyes widened in terror. 'Why did I forget? Since Johnny saved me, I did not communicate with my wolf.
"Hey, don't panic... Let's go back inside. I'll call Arnold and ask him about your condition." Bradley immediately approached Leila to comfort her.
"Maybe my wolf is sulking? Maybe this is her revenge since I forgot her..." Leila murmured as she thought of a reason.
"I think that is not the reason. When you fall off the cliff, your injured is severe... Maybe that is why your wolf is not showing up," Bradley shared his thought to calm Leila down.
After entering the house, Bradley hurriedly called Arnold, but he was out of reach.
"I'll try to call her later..."
"Bradley, what will happen to our baby and me if I lost my wolf?"
"Leila, don't overthink... nothing will happen to you and our baby. The only problem I see is- you become fragile and vulnerable."
Leila's heartbeat was like a drum due to worry. "You need to tell me all the threats I need to avoid... Since I can't fight back, I need to be careful."
Bradley has no choice but to tell Leila everything, including Arnold's news earlier.
"What? Why? But our baby-"
"Our baby will be the ruler... So the other pack is already making a way to prevent this from happening," Bradley explained, while comforting Leila.
"They are inhuman!!" Leila cried and complained. With the impending danger- now is the crucial time she needed her wolf.
"Hey, you need to calm down. To you, it's uncertain. I only told you this because I want you to be careful... As much as possible, trust no one except me, Aunt Maurice, Arnold, and Zeke..."
That night, when Luna Maurice came, they talked about the problem with Leila.
"This is bad... The council wants to talk to Leila," Luna Maurice retorted.
"On what reason?" Bradley asked while crossing his arms.
"About Adam. They wanted to release Adam since Leila is fine..."
Bradley's smile was terrifying. "Regarding my condition... They know my life is at risk, right?"
"Yes, Johnny told them you are still not well."
"Very well... I want to stay like that. Don't tell anyone I've recovered," Bradley commanded while looking at everyone.
"What is your plan?" Leila asked; her hunch was not good at Bradley's apparent calmness.
"Nothing. I'm just planning to clean my territory..." After this remark, Bradley entered his room.
