The next day, Doula took in a deep breath as she wore her dress. “I pray for a good time as I begin work.” She said to herself. She walked to the shoe she had prepared the last night. Walking out of the room, she brought out the fruit wine she had bought the day before and poured a little into a glass cup. “This is beautiful.” She said looking at the bottle. Minutes later, she was prepared to go to the company, so she took up her bag, which matched what she was wearing. She stepped out of the house with a smile on her face. Minutes later, she was in the company and was greeted by the receptionist who gave her a badge. “Here is your badge.” The receptionist said. “Thank you,” Doula said taking the badge from the receptionist. “May I go?” “Yes, you may.” The receptionist said. “Your office number is on the badge.” “Alright, thank you,” Doula said checking the number on her badge. Walking away from the receptionist, Doula looked at the number on each door. “Get you, room number six.” She said looking at the number on her badge. She thought about how she would open the door as she didn't collect the key from the receptionist. “Am I to walk back to her?” Doula asked herself. A man walked to the door next to her and took off his badge. He took the tag that was in the badge, inserted it into the door and it opened up. Doula looked at her badge and sighed. “That might be the way to enter.” She said. Taking off her badge, she took the tag that was in it and inserted it. The door opened and this made her smile. “Which means, this mustn't be misplaced.” She said taking back the tag. Immediately she took it, the door closed, making her nervous. “I will try it again.” She said and inserted the tag. The door opened immediately and she sighed, breathing hard. “That was so close.” She said calming her nerves. She walked to the only chair in the room and sat. She didn't know what she was to do as she was just beginning. She heard a slight know on her door and looked up. “You may come in.” She said looking at the young man who had a perfect dress on. “Good morning, sir.” She said looking at the man. “I heard you are the new accountant.” He said and Doula nodded. “Well, I am Dose, Mr. Dala's assistant.” “May I know who this Mr. Dala is?” Doula asked. “Oh, my bad.” Dose said. “Mr. Dala is the accounting head.” “The head of the department?” Doula asked and he nodded. Immediately, Doula jumped to her feet in respect of the man who stood in front. “Do not worry.” Dose said with a smile. “But do not fall in love with him.” “Why do you assume that?” Doula asked. “He is a dashing young man who invests a lot in property whereas he doesn't like female colleagues around him.” Dose said. “Alright, let's go to the point,” Doula said, not wanting to know more about whoever he was. “Why are you here?” “Oh, good.” Dose said. “I came here to guide you in all you will do here.” “Alright,” Doula said opening the system that was in front of her. “What's the password?” “The name on your badge.” Dose said. “Alright.” She said and inputted the name on her badge. The system lit up immediately after she was done inputting its password. “I mustn't misplace this.” She said, holding her badge. “You can't.” Dose said. “Why? Do you believe so much in me?” Doula asked and he looked up and smiled. “You will need to submit back the badge before leaving.” He said and she nodded. “Alright, then tell me how I will identify my key without knowing my number?” Doula asked. “It has been documented ever since they approved you working here.” He said and she nodded. He turned to look at the laptop and began telling her basic things which would be required of her to do of which she nodded. Minutes later, he was done telling her all she needed to do. He pulled out a chair from a hidden corner and sat. He began to tell her some important things about the company. Midway, he cracked some jokes. Doula looked at him as he left her office. “I am beginning to like his personality.” She said, shaking her head. How would she like someone's personality when she just met him? Touching her laptop, she began by opening the files each using the same password. “I forgot to tell you this.” She heard someone say and looked up. “Mr. Dose!” She called. Dose looked at her and shook his head. “Do not call me mister.” He said and she looked up. “I guess I am just a few years older than you.” “Alright, Dose.” She said. “Anyway, I just want to remind you that our meetings are held every Saturday.” He said. “Alright, sir.” She said as he walked out of the office. Taking in a smile, she returned her gaze to the laptop in front of her. “This.” She said. Hours later, she switched off her laptop and sighed. Her phone began to ring and she answered the call. “Hello, uncle.” She said. “Congratulations on your first day at work.” He said and she smiled. “Thank you, uncle.” She said. “Moreover, how do you cope with your son.” “I may have to give the company over to you.” Her uncle said. “What?” She asked. “I can't accept it. What if your son gets infuriated.” “Indeed.” Her uncle said with a smirk. “He wants nothing to do with the company, and I guess his girlfriend is pregnant.” Doula took in a deep breath. “You can make him regret.” She said. “How?” He asked. “If the lady claims really to be pregnant then remove all your support from him.” She said.
