Chapter 29

Doula called the number Kailua had given her and smiled when she saw that it was ringing.
 "Kailua, pick up." She said.
The call was answered by Kailua, who smiled at the mother.
"Hello, Kailua!" She immediately said when she answered it.
"Hi, Doula," Kailua said acting frightened.
"What is wrong with you, Kailua?" She asked.
"Call me later," Kailua said and gave out a high cry then ended the call.
"She is being tortured." Doula cried.
Nisha, who was teary, walked to Doula, whose hand was shaking.
"Did she tell you where she is?" She asked.
  "No, she didn't," Doula replied.
Holding on to his knees, Mr. Claus looked at his niece.
"I will look for what to do." He said.
 "What?" Doula asked.
 "As my repentance." He said.
Both Doula and Nisha looked at him shaking their head.
"What if the evil spirit gets to hold you?" Nisha asked.
"I will gladly accept defeat." He said.
"No uncle, you can't," Doula said. "Who is going to take care of Nisha and Douglas?"
The name Douglas rang in his ear, and he remembered his son, who he had seen a week ago.
Before he could speak up, a call came in.
"Pick it up, elder brother." Mrs. Soma said seeing her brother stare at the phone.
"Hello, Douglas." He said, picking up the call and keeping it on speaker.
"Dad, our house has been bulged," Douglas said.
"I do not understand you." He said.
"Some thieves are in the house," Douglas said.
"You invited them in so deal with it." He said harshly and everyone stared at him as he ended the call.
"Douglas is in trouble." Mrs. Soma said.
"His new way of planning to kill me." He said to his sister then got up. "Let's end this meeting here."
"Alright." Doula's father said not wanting to interfere in the matter. "It was nice to be here."
The men shook their hands and left afterward.
Doula walked out with her parents who stared at her.
"Would you like to stay the night in our house or yours?" Her mother asked.
"Of course, our house." She replied. "I have missed our house for all these years. I only go there to water the floor outside so that the government won't take it."
"Thank you, dear." Mr. Soma said and opened the car.
The mother and daughter got into the back seat, leaving Mr. Soma to sit in front.
"What of the driver?" Doula asked.
"Doula Soma!" Her mother said. "It's been years since we've been away. We didn't take the driver along and I am sure by now, he has a work doing."
"Oh, yeah," Doula said. "So, Dad will get a new driver."
"Yes, dear." Her father, who was driving, said.
 "Alright, Dad," Doula said.
The mother and daughter started discussing catching up on the times they met.
Soon later, they got home and pulled out of the car.
Doula ran into the house immediately after it was open.
The house was now dusty as it had been a long time someone had been in the house.
"Are you going to choose a new cleaner?" Doula asked her father who sighed.
"I would hire one." He said. "We aren't staying here long so they must agree to work with us for two weeks."
"Alright, Dad." She said placing her head on her father's chest. "I will miss you."
"Not for so long, dear." He said touching her cheek.
Doula stared into her father's face.
"You will be coming soon?" She asked and could see her father smile.
"I can see you getting married soon." He said laughing.
Mrs. Soma walked to the other side of her husband and put her hand across his neck.
"Why do you like saying that?" She asked placing a kiss on her husband's forehead.
"I am not just doing anything wrong." He said smiling. "I am just saying how I feel."
"Mother!" Doula called and they laughed.
Doula took it upon herself to dust some parts of the house because there was no cleaner.
"We should help." Mr. Soma said and his wife nodded.
"Do not worry." She said. "You just returned today."
"Alright." They both said leaving Doula to continue the cleaning.
After some minutes, Mrs. Soma remembered how fun it was going out with Kailua's mother.
"I wonder how sad it will be for Kailua when she finds out about her parents." She said.
"It's really going to be sad." Her husband said.
"She is being captured by some evil forces," Doula said. "I will surely go to the cathedral just to pray for her. I will pray that the Lord comforts her."
"I am glad you now pray." Mr. Soma said.
"I am not really deep in it but I guess Kailua is." She said. "I am sure I will be answered because of her faith."
"She taught me about faith." She continued, "She told me to speak any word with faith and it will come to be."
 Mr. Soma nodded his head.
"She was such a good friend to you." He said. "I wonder why people called her a witch."
 "I also do." She said.
"That aside," Mrs. Soma said trying to change the topic of discussion, "I made an order for us all."
"What is it?" Doula asked but her mother refused to answer.
Walking to her mother, she began tickling her.
"Alright, I will say." Her mother said laughing. "Pizza."
Doula smiled, shaking her head, and gave her mother a peck.
"Thank you, mother." She said. "You are the best."
Soon later, they heard a knock on the door and Mrs. Soma walked out.
"Here is your pizza and ice cream." She said walking in with a polythene.
"Thank you, mother." Doula said taking one.
She took an ice cream and pizza for herself then handed her husband the last one.
 Joyfully, they ate and drank.
When they were done, they kept discussing into the night.
"Alright, Father, I would like to go into my room," Doula said.
