“My name is Ciara, and as we all know, we are all but one witch.” The lady said laughing. “Over there.” She said pointing to a sculpture. “It was made years ago by mother.” Everyone looked at the sculpture, then back to Ciara. “Do you know what it is?” Ciara asked laughing. She walked to a table and rested her hair on it while they all shook their head. “Imperial momentous.” She chanted, then laughed, pulling out a hair from the table. “It's a human.” She said. “Human!” They all exclaimed and Ciara nodded. Walking away from the table, Ciara began to tell the story of the sculpture. “Long years ago, a hunter joined us, saying she wants to be part of us,” Ciara said, then bent, laughing as she moved around. “Do you know what she wanted?” They all shook their head and she took a deep breath. “We found out that her true intention was to hunt us down. She became close to her mother so she won't be suspected.” Ciara said, then paused to know if they were all attentive, “When mother got to know, a war broke out, and eventually, mother froze he,r, turning her into a sculpture.” Ciara looked at them and then pointed to the table. “That's her hair.” She said. Walking back to the table, she chanted, “Imperial demo Tous.” and the hair disappeared. “Every six months, new members are brought to the art gallery, and this story is told to them so that they don't become like her,” Ciara said, pointing to the sculpture. Everyone blinked as they knew what it meant. They mustn't trespass with mother. “Have a good time in this gallery,” Ciara said and left. Seeing that Ciara had left, one of them walked to the sculpture and touched it. Tears began to drop from its eyes. “It's regretting betraying mother.” He said. “No, it's not.” Another said. “It's regretting its mission.” “Yes, that's right,” Kailua said. They all focused their attention on the arts ignoring the weeping sculpture. Minutes later, they all walked out of the gallery and gathered together waiting for their next task. “You all may go take some rest.” They heard and Kailua smiled. She bounced off to her room and then remembered that Meni would be in her room. “Meni.” She said opening the door to Meni's room. “Oh, Kailua,” Meni said as she saw Kailua walk into her room. “Meni, where are you?” Kailua asked as the room was dark. Instantly, light filled the room, and she could see Meni. “You aren't used to the dark,” Meni said moving Kailua to her bed. “Yes.” Kailua hesitated to say. Meni smiled looking at Kailua. “Undress.” She said with authority. Kailua looked at her, not understanding what she was saying, but like someone being controlled by a smell, she got up and began to undress. “A ritual has to be done on you by your first friend which I am,” Meni said. “It is meant to be done by your master, but you aren't friends so it is my right to do.” With a smile, Meni took hold of a bowl of water and poured it on Kailua, who was lying on the bed. She then brought out a cigarette and gave to Kailua. “This won't make you feel cold,” Meni said. The water poured on Kailua's body sank into her, but she felt warm due to the cigarette. “Get dressed!” Meni commanded when the water had dried Kailua's body. They kissed again and Kailua smiled. “Is this the new initiation,” Kailua asked. “No, it isn't,” Meni said. “You have been initiated long ago by your master.” Kailua nodded to this, and they kept looking. “If I get to initiate my best friend, I will be her master,” Kailua said the thought that came to her mind. “Yes, you will,” Meni said smiling. She held on to Kailua's hand looking into her eyes. “I actually thought you were against bringing her.” She said. “Yes, I am against bringing her here, but I would like to be the witch to initiate her and not another,” Kailua said in response. “That can only be possible after your bond breaks,” Meni said. “I will do everything to break our bond,” Kailua said with determination. Although determined to make it happen, she feared one thing. “I will do it anyway.” She said. “As from next week, I will plead with Mother to allow me to start my mission from the street I lived in with Doula.” “That's very good,” Meni said. “What I did will empower you to float.” Kailua smiled hearing this and nodded. “That will be good.” She said. Meni took a deep breath and nodded. “But be careful.” She said. “About?” Kailua asked. “Floating beside fire likewise smoking beside water.” Meni said. “It will kill you permanently, and you won't be able to live again.” Kailua took a deep breath, looking at Meni, “Then I would like to go to hell.” Meni shook her head smiling. “Then your soul will wander between the human world and our world.” She said. “That is a hard punishment,” Kailua said. “One that you won't like,” Meni said, looking at her friend. She knew the fact that Kailua couldn't stand the truth as there were many things she would need to learn in the house. Looking at her wrist, she let out a sigh. “Kailua, you need to leave for the exhibition.” She said. “Exhibition!” Kailua exclaimed excitedly. “Like the one I have always done?” “Kind of,” Meni said. “But it isn't.” “Then how does it look like?” Kailua asked. “Go out to get an idea of it,” Meni replied. Excited, Kailua walked out of the room. She walked to the first floor and could see people whom she saw at the art gallery standing in a queue. She joined the queue, eagerly waiting for her turn. “Good day, we are all here for the exhibition.” She heard. “Let's all wait for our queen mother.”
