“Yes, she is,” Kailua said. “I grew up with her.” “You went to the same high school and college,” Meni said. “Yes,” Kailua said. “We didn't attend the same junior school, but we have been friends ever since we were born.” Meni closed her eyes and sighed. “Your bond with Doula will be broken soon.” She said. “I know it will,” Kailua said. “I told her to trash and burn all my pictures.” “That's the first step,” Meni said smiling. “Whereas there is more to be done.” “Like what?” Kailua asked. “We are to make her scared,” Meni said. “How?” Kailua asked and Meni took in a deep breath. “I would like to tell you a story,” Meni said as memories came rushing down her memory. “I was just done with college when I got to know who I am.” Meni started. “I had two best friends whom I love dearly, but I was instructed to let them go. I told every one of them to burn everything they had concerning me, which they were adamant about but later did, but my memory was still with them.” Kailua nodded thinking of how sad it would have been for her leaving her two best friends. “Noticing that they didn't forget me,” Meni continued. “I had to commit all my atrocities in my street. They each saw me one day and our bond was broken.” Kailua sighed to this nodding her head. “You suggest that I also do the same?” She asked. “Yes, I do,” Kailua said. Minutes later, they walked to join the rest of their peers. “Come here!” They both heard and turned back. With a smile, Meni looked at Kailua. “Your master calls you.” She said letting go of Kailua. Kailua walked to her master and bent her head. “We didn't really know each other then, I only introduced you to this.” Kailua's master said. “So I guess we need to properly introduce ourselves.” Kailua looked at her master and smiled. “Can we do it another day?” She asked. Her master looked up and ground her teeth. “As you please.” She said and walked away. Kailua walked back to Meni who was waiting for her. “What did she say?” Meni asked. Kailua told her what her master said. “She might want to become your friend,” Meni said. “In here, we love being our friend.” Kailua nodded her head taking a deep breath. “Maybe, we can do that later.” She said and Meni smiled. “We live in harmony here and our operation is only at night,” Meni said. Together, they walked to the large round table where people sat. “Take a seat,” Meni said pulling out a chair for Kailua. They were all given some sets of cards. Kailua looked at the set of cards with her. They weren't the normal cards which she played with Doula. She smiled as she remembered telling someone to gift Doula some things in regard of her. Soon the chairs were occupied. The mother of the place cleared her throat taking up the cards with her. “This is the rule of the game.” She said with her eyes piercing through all of them. “For all who are just having their first game in the house, here are the rules.” The new people who were playing with them paid keen attention as the mother explained the rules of the game. “You will have no choice if you put down the same card with any of the people beside you than to kiss him or her vigorously.” The mother ended her explanation. Kailua looked at her sides, she had two females on each side. One was Meni and she didn't know the other. “Let's get to the game.” The mother said. They began playing and Kailua enjoyed every part of the game. Minutes later, she dropped the same card as Meni, and it was time for her to kiss Meni. Being a novice, Kailua allowed Meni to take the step. They kissed and then broke through. Some ladies were seated next to men and Kailua envied that. It was like the mother knew what Kailua was thinking about, She spoke up, “In here, we do not consider gender. Both male and female over there are the same here.” They all nodded to what the mother said and kept playing. Kailua kissed both people next to her, likewise everyone, including the mother. Some minutes later, the mother looked at her wrist. “End of game.” She said. “I have a mission to attend.” With this, everyone got up, and Kailua looked at her master, who walked away immediately. “Why is she rushing?” She asked, looking at Meni who shrugged. “I do not know,” Meni said. “Maybe she has a mission with Mother.” Kailua sighed nodding her head. “Alright, let's go.” She said, but Meni held her back. “It will soon be time for the new occupants to go to the art gallery,” Meni said. “Of which you are.” “Oh!” Kailua exclaimed. “So we have to move apart. You can find me in my room.” Meni said. “Alright,” Kailua said. “Aren't you going on a mission?” “No, Not today,” Meni said. “How do I get to the art gallery?” Kailua asked. “You will be guided,” Meni said. “I'm off.” Kailua looked around as a voice came through telling all the new occupants to go to the art gallery. Her legs moved swiftly until she got to the art gallery. She was amazed, seeing how beautiful the place was and the art on the wall. Some were paintings, some pictures, and others drawings. “I'm very proud of whoever did this.” She said. “Who did this!” Someone exclaimed, touching a painting. “It's mother.” A lady who walked in said. “Mother is talented,” Kailua said to herself. “She did all this.” The lady said making them all look at her. “The pictures, the paintings, and the drawings were all done by mother.” Everyone clapped to this, and the lady continued, “She placed me in charge of this place.”
