Chapter 6

Kailua looked back hearing this, and a smile erupted on her lip.
“Hi dear.” She said, looking at the one who introduced her.
She didn't know the lady's name but knew she was the one who introduced her to the business when she was looking for a job.
“Jacinta!” The lady replied and she nodded.
“Get into your room, change, and go down for prayer.” The lady said.
“Prayers?” Kailua asked with a shocked expression.
 “How can they pray here?”
She just nodded to Jacinta and left.
Getting into the room, she saw a king's size bed and smiled.
“The owner of this place is very wealthy.” She said to herself.
She jumped on the bed and laid her head on it to sleep. The bed was soft and she liked it.
Remembering what Jacinta told her, she immediately began to unpack her load keeping it in the large wardrobe in the room.
“This is only for me.” She said to herself, “How I wish Doula could also see this, but I do not want her anywhere near.”
Looking at the wall that stood back, Kailua saw a picture frame that had no one's picture in there.
“I will surely put in my picture.” She said to herself, then heard the ringing of a bell.
“What's this for?” She asked herself.
She immediately unpacked and then walked out of the room, locking the door.
She went down just as instructed by Jacinta.
Getting down, she met with a little crowd and thought of what was going on.
She was pushed forward and she moved.
A woman who was at the front stirring a bowl of water turned to face them. She had long hair, a beautiful smile, and a long nail.
They were ten in number who stood in the front and Kailua only could think of one thing, which is they were in front because of the same reason she was in front.
“Take this.” The person who was assisting the woman in stirring gave them each a cup to drink.
What they drank was nothing more than water, and Kailua thought about the reason it was important.
“Now, get on your knees and ask for a wish in your thought.” The woman said.
Kailua got down on her knees and also the nine people with her. She didn't have anything to ask on than for Doula.
“Make everything pleasant for Doula.” She said in her thoughts.
The woman looked at her and sighed, touching her hair.
“You like this Doula.” She said.
 “Yes, mother,” Kailua said.
“Then, why don't you bring her to be one of us?” The woman asked.
Kailua shook her head listening to the woman's question.
“I can't because she has a soft spirit.” She replied and the woman nodded.
“You may all get up.” The woman said.
They all got up and everyone bowed to the woman while she blessed them. They all left when she was done blessing them.
Kailua walked out with the nine people to her room.
“Do remember to come out for dinner by ten p.m.” She heard someone say to her and turned to see who it was but saw no one.
She continued walking to her room which she opened and got in.
“Hello!” She heard someone say to her immediately she got to her door.
This made her pause and look back.
“Meni!” She called on seeing Meni.
“Yes, it's me,” Meni said. “Next week, we will be having a meeting. Mate by mate.”
“Alright, I haven't seen any of my mates,” Kailua said, and she smiled. “Do you mean the nine people with me inside?”
“Not so,” Meni said. “Your mates are people who joined the same period you joined.”
“Really!” Kailua said, and she nodded.
“I am one of your mates,” Meni said and she smiled.
“That's great. I would like to sit with you during the meeting.” Kailua said smiling.
“Alright, I should get going,” Nisha said.
 “Hold on!” Kailua called.
She told Meni how the thing told her that the dinner was at nine p.m.
“Yes, our dinner is always nine p.m, I guess it's a system our lady put in place to instruct us,” Meni said.
“Alright,” Kailua said opening her door. “It's going to be boring here until next week.”
“No, it won't,” Meni said. “You are going to like your one week here.”
 “How?” Kailua asked.
"Tomorrow, you will be meeting with the elders, who are fun to meet, and you will be introduced to many things this week, like the art gallery,” Meni said.
Before Kailua could speak, someone already called Meni.
“That's my leader.” She said. “I will visit your room by seven p.m.”
With that said, Meni ran off.
Kailua walked into her room and shut the door

Doula, who was at her house, sat with her phone in her hand. Her hand trembled as she wanted to call her uncle in other to ask of her parents.
“Uncle!” She called, finally dialing his number.
“Is Kailua with you?” Her uncle asked, as he would rather not discuss it with her when Kailua is there.
“Kailua has gone.” She said. “She will return in some month's time.”
“Very good.” Her uncle said. “So, what is your request?”
“I would like to know how father and mother are doing.” She said.
“Very cool.” He said. “You can visit me to have a call with them.”
Ever since she had misplaced her phone, Doula had lost her parent's number but when she retrieved it after getting a new phone, they had already traveled giving her uncle their new number, and the man, although being kind to her chose not to give her the new number because of Kailua, but she cared less.
“Anyway, my parents do like Kailua because we have been friends ever since.” Doula had said to herself one day.
“Alright uncle, I will visit you tomorrow.” She said.
“Come by evening.” Her uncle said, and she nodded, giving a positive response.
