Chapter 15

Taking Meni's hand off her shoulder, Kailua walked away.
 "Kailua!!" Meni called.
She stopped moving as tears fell off her face.
Meni walked and stood in front of Kailua.
"You should be happy." She said touching Kailua's face. "When you are done, you will officially become one of us."
"What is there to be happy of?" Kailua asked, her eyes becoming dark.
"I will leave you until you come here," Meni said walking off. "I have a mission to prepare for."
Kailua watched as Meni walked out.
"She isn't to be blamed. She has done it before." She said consoling herself.
She walked up to her room and began packing some clothes.
"I need not to weep." She said to herself. "I can do it if Meni can."
She heard a knock on her door and thought it was Meni.
"You may come in." She said.
Her master walked in and sat on her bed.
"You should ensure you do your duty well." She said.
"Yes, master." She said packing her bag.
 "Have this," Jacinta said.
Kailua looked at what was with Jacinta.
"What is it for?" She asked.
"This will make your journey easier," Jacinta replied.
Bringing out another thing, she handed it to Kailua.
"You should have this." She said.
"What's this also for?" Kailua asked.
"When you get to earth, it will change into gifts which you will give your parents," Jacinta said.
"Alright, I will do so," Kailua said taking it.
Jacinta walked out of the room leaving Kailua all to herself.
Minutes later, Kailua was done packing. She walked to Meni's door with her load and knocked on it but it was locked from inside.
"Is she really angry with me?" She asked herself.
After knocking for some minutes without getting a response, Kailua walked away.
Meni, who was in her room, knew it was Kailua but didn't want to open it. She sighed walking to the door.
"Kailua!" She called Kailua who turned around.
"Meni!" Kailua called with a smile and walked to her.
 The friends hugged each other.
"I will miss you," Kailua said.
 "I also will," Meni said.
"Take this," Meni said pointing out a stick to Kailua.
"What is it for?" Kailua asked.
"To guide you every step of the way," Meni said to Kailua who nodded.
"Alright, I will be going," Kailua said and left.
Meni watched her friend's step and hoped for an easy task.
Kailua got out of the gate as instructed and appeared to the human world at the cathedral.
She looked around and walked with all she had to the bus terminal.
"Where are you heading to?" She was asked before she entered the bus.
Looking into the bus, she shook her head seeing Doula.
She walked to another bus and entered.
The bus drove and stopped by her house side.
She got down dropping the thing Jacinta gave her as gift down and immediately it changed to a basket of fruit.
She walked to the door with everything she had with her including the stick. She knocked on the door waiting for someone to reply.
Soon, her sister opened the door and smiled seeing her.
"Welcome Kailua!" Nisha said taking up the basket. "What's up with the stick?"
"It's a part of my membership." She said knowing her sister won't understand.
"Who is that?" She heard her mother ask.
 "It's Kailua," Nisha said.
Kailua felt sad seeing her mother, who didn't know that in one or two days, she would be dead.
 "Where is father?" She asked.
"In his room, dear." Her mother said. "Come take your seat."
Kailua walked to the couch pretending to be tired.
"I will get you some water," Nisha said and walked away.
Kailua looked at her mother wearing a faint smile.
"You don't need to smile." Her mother said. "I know you are tired."
"Mother!" Kailua called placing her head on her mother's lap.
"Have you informed Doula of your presence?" Her mother asked touching her hair.
 "No, I haven't." She replied.
"I will get to my room to inform her." Nisha, who just dropped the cup said.
"Do not try it," Kailua said.
"Why?" Both Nisha and her mother asked.
"I would like it to be a surprise to her," Kailua said.
"Alright, how many days are you staying here?" Nisha asked.
"For three days," Kailua replied. "I was given a week's break from work, so I will spend three days with Doula and then leave the next day."
 "Okay," Nisha said.
Her father woke up from sleep and walked to the living room.
 "Kailua!" He called.
Kailua looked at her father with tears. It was tears of sadness but they all thought it was tears of joy.
 "My first daughter." He said.
 He sat on another couch.
Kailua drank the cup of water and felt like floating but she had to caution herself.
"Is anything wrong with the water?" Nisha asked.
"Nothing is wrong with the water ." She said. "I haven't drank water since last night."
 "Oh, so sorry," Nisha said.
"There is nothing to be worried about," Kailua said smiling.
"I will like you to liberate us from poverty." Her father said.
"Father, I told you that we aren't poor," Nisha said.
"Truth be told, we are." Her father said.
Nisha opened her mouth wide looking at her father.
"Doula's father paid for Kailua's schooling since junior high and your primary education. We are just managing to take care of your junior high education." Her father said.
With a sigh, Kailua thought of it being good to murder her parents as they no longer would suffer. She was determined to take care of Nisha's schooling until she became something in life.
"Father!" She called. "Listen to Nisha, we are poor. You both have a job which fetches you little income."
"Our income is not enough to feed but we leave out some parts for Nisha's schooling." He said boldly and his wife nodded in support of it.
