Chapter 20 Bare her emotion

Marvin cleared his throat to get Cameron’s attention back.  “Sir, what were you thinking earlier? Why did you say that you were Mitos?”
He shook his head. “It just slipped…”
“Sir, that's not how I knew you. You do not make decisions without careful thoughts. You yourself told me not to rush things because the problem will only get worse. ”
"I know!" He dropped himself on the couch and looked up at the ceiling. He was still confused about his actions earlier.  “I only did that because we didn’t have Mitos to face her. He is sick. And Love doesn't want to listen. If I didn’t do what I did, how would I be able to fulfill Mitos’ wishes?  How else can I tell her about Mitos' message?”
He understood Love's anger towards Mitos. He already knew the hardships she had gone through but it seemed like what she experienced was not that simple.  The pain was there. He could not see her eyes but he could clearly hear resentment in her voice. And it was as if he was being stabbed as he listened to her earlier.
She didn’t deserve to suffer like this.
Her boyfriend left her and never returned. Her mother died. She lost her sight.
She may never want to hear anything about Mitos, but it doesn't mean she had forgotten about his promises. Mitos' condition was getting worse. He just wanted to give him a small favor.
“I still think you should have just told her the truth, Sir.  That Mitos had an accident and may never be able to come back for her. That they may never meet again. You didn’t have to pretend.”
"No!" He felt a heavy burden in his chest every time he thought about telling Love the truth about Mitos’ condition. That was his original plan and the reason why he was at the Sky Garden. But he changed his mind when he saw her cry and confessed all her pains and sufferings. “I don’t want to hurt her, Marvin. She had been through a lot and I don’t want to add more things for her to carry on her own. It would hurt her more if she finds out that Mitos will never come back. She may lose hope completely. At least through me, Mitos was able to apologize to her. And whatever her problem is, I can now help her as Mitos. ”
And he wanted to give her eyesight back first. She said she could still see again.  He needed to arrange for that as soon as possible.
“She is angry at Mitos, Sir. She will not accept any help from you.”
“It will disappear when she feels my sincerity. She will appreciate my presence soon.  I will stay by her side no matter what, that’s the most important thing for now.”
Marvin nodded. “She is not like any other woman, Sir. He was too tough. Too stubborn. She has lost her eyesight but she still has fangs.”
“Yes. She is strong and fierce. I never met anything quite like her. ”
He couldn't help but smile when he saw how she had scared off Marvin earlier. His assistant only feared one thing. Cameron. But she rendered him speechless. She was not like other women who hid and pretended their feelings. Love could easily bare her emotion and she could touch him in so many ways.
And the braver she got, the more he wanted to protect her. No matter how much she showed her tough side, he knew deep inside her heart still resides a woman who was tired of being hurt.
“And will you accept her anger, Sir? You’re willing to receive all the punishment that was meant for Mitos?”
"Yes." He could endure it. Even his pride could endure it. Anything he could do to make Love feel a little better.  “It would be better if she could forgive Mitos. I will help Mitos make it up to her.”
"And how long are you going to pretend, Sir?"
"As long as it takes." Another one of his troubling plans. This was totally out of character for him. But he didn’t care. Love was more important now.
"That a stupid Mitos!" Marvin blurted out as he poured brandy from the bar. "This was all his fault."
“Let’s not blame Mitos anymore. He knew it himself.  Just call the detective. I want a thorough investigation on Love. Find out how we can help her further. ”
"ATE, WE STILL lack two thousand," Kulas said with mixed concern as they had their breakfast. He could hardly eat his food because he was too tense. He had been traumatized by the people whom Love’s father owed money.
“That’s okay. We can borrow from Ate Bham. We will meet later so we can still bring the payment to Epong.”
She was somehow relieved when Bham assured her that she had the money they lacked for the payment. It wasn't her father's debt that made her barely able to sleep last night. It was because of Mitos' impostor.
She could still feel the warmth of his embrace. That's why she hugged her pillow tightly and could not stay put on one side of the bed.
She wanted to know his real name. The next time they meet, she would definitely ask him who he really was. But what if he doesn’t show up anymore?
Her excitement dropped. It's a pity if she wouldn't be able to see him again.
Their relatively quiet breakfast was interrupted when they heard a commotion outside. She immediately had a bad feeling when the footsteps stopped right outside their house. She hurriedly picked up her shades and wore them.
Their door suddenly gave way and Epong and his men came in. “Now, where is your payment?”
Kulas squeezed right next to him and held her arm tightly. "Ate, we don’t have the money yet."
