Xi Song's POV A lot of pressure had come to my mind. I was returning to the hospital after meeting her when I received a call from Ling Xiao. I picked up his call and was about to ask when I heard Xia Na's voice. She sounded horrific about something. Xia Na: Xi Song, can you check up on Xingyue? Me: What's wrong with her? Xia Na: Today, in a tragedy, Xingyue got kicked out of the office. She is dedicated to her work. I don't know what she would do? I got worried listening to her. My heart was also panicking. I instantly hung up the phone and tried to stop the taxi and reach home. When I got inside the taxi, I sought to call her countless times, but she didn't pick any. It frightened me to hell. I wanted to get her in my arms as soon as possible. Xingyue was an emotional person, and I could imagine her crying alone in a corner. .................................................. Xingyue's POV I could not catch anything while wandering here and there alone. It was as if, in a moment, I had lost everything. Taking steps towards a peaceful lake, I sat there for some time. Hugging my knees, I recalled moments when my dignity shattered in the air and became a joke. I didn't expect this from Han Shuo, and it hurt me. *Flashback* Author's POV Everyone started gathering when things started getting out of control. Then Han Shuo had to come there as well. The enhanced game of Tang Can be laid on the spot. All seemed to slip into her sticky words. She was a drama queen who tried to create problems for Xingyue from the day first. Her deep crocodile tears gained everyone's sympathy, that abandoned Xingyue in everyone's eyes. Her friends were not there to protect her. Thus, everyone teamed up to bully her emotionally. "She brought our company on the road." "Our boss pampered her a lot. She always used her charm to get her work done." "I hate ladies who seduce their bosses for money." She kept dumbly hearing their inane comments there. However, when Han Shuo came, everyone remained quiet. His heart ached to see her swollen red eyes filled with tears like pearls. He kept a straight poker face with no reaction and asked her to follow him. But before she moved, Tang Can went after him. She crossed over to stop him in a corner. He looked lousy with an annoyed face. "What do you want?" "I know you'll forgive her for this huge mistake." She took a step ahead with an intense, alluring look on her face. "I want to know what is in her that is not in me?" She started unbuttoning the buttons of her suit with one more step ahead. "The thing she can do, I can do it better. Then why is she your assistant and not me?" Their fierce faces were clashing with each other. But no one was ready to back down. He mockingly scoffed and buttoned her suit back. "Because she's not like you who played double mind games. I love her for her simplicity. Still, get one thing inside your head. When I'm working, no one matters to me." Saying, he moved away and walked towards his cabin while she remained there glaring at him. .................................................... He picked up his pen, and while signing the paper, he informed her. “Li Xingyue, because of you, our company is about to undergo a heavy loss. You know I want everything perfect. So, to compensate for your mistake..." He handed a letter and declared. "You're fired!" *Flashback ended* ......................................................... Xi Song’s POV By the time I reached home, it was evening. The sun was setting, and its rays had spread across the sky. Hastily opening the main door, I immediately headed to our shared bedroom and hurriedly opened the door. In search of her, my dreadful eyes scanned the entire room. Then, I rushed to the attached balcony and noticed her sitting alone, curved into a tiny ball. "Xingyue," I called her name out. She slowly turned to look at me, and I couldn't tell how I felt. Her eyes were engulfed. The glow on her face had gone off. I struggled to see anything in those eyes except sorrow and trouble. The tears that fell off her eyes dried over her cheeks. I opposed watching her being miserable. Quickly running, I held her close to my chest. She let out her tears while I stayed there, rubbing her back. "Xi Song... I did nothing," she said in a sobbing tone that pierced my heart. I caressed her head and agreed. "I know. You can never do such a thing. I believe in you, Xingyue." Her lips trembled as the corners of her mouth turned down. She broke the hug and wiped her tears off. "I'm disappointed with myself. Xi Song, will you leave me if I owned nothing? Xi Song, will you marry someone else who is-" "Shhh!" I put my finger on her lips and cupped her face. "No matter what, I'll still love you, Xingyue. I love your soul, not your profession. You're so hardworking and talented. You'll find a job anywhere. But I can't afford your tears." Xingyue's POV I stared at him like I never did before. His eyes spell honesty, and I could see genuine love in his core. He kissed the back of my hand and comforted me. All the time, he calmly showed me how worthy I was. I discovered if someone genuinely loved you, they would accept you with or without flaws. I thought he would blame me for being careless. I would turn into a burden for him. Though when he talked, he made me realize I was totally wrong. He was there as a shield to protect me from any problem. And I could only be thankful to him for being there in my bad times. .............................................. Han Shou's POV Sitting around the pool, I was gulping a bottle of wine. I had no control over my emotions. I wanted no one around. I was getting addicted to alcohol. Taking out her picture from my wallet, I held it in my hand. Those painful scenes were scattered around in front of my eyes. When I saw her in someone else's arms, I couldn't stop myself from sobbing. Today, I felt the agony of seeing tears in her eyes. My hands were tied in a handcuff. I watched her from afar and grieve. "Li Xingyue, what should I do to make you leave him and come to me?"
