Tang Xue's POV
I came out of the office after working late at night. The last bus had left the stop, and I left with nothing except a taxi.
In search of the cab, I kept wandering around the road when I felt as if someone was following me.
I turned my head back, and the road seemed abandoned. The shadow that could be seen in the corner again had changed my belief into reality.
A drop of sweat escaping from my head fell on the ground, and I started quietly walking from there.
I boosted my speed and ran as fast as I could. The shadow chasing me sent chills down my spine.
I sensed a lack of breath but didn't stop myself from running.
Reaching the next turn, I bumped into someone.
"AGHH!" Suddenly a shocked voice as the air forced out of my lungs.
Before I hit the ground, a helping hand grabbed my hand, supporting my back.
My other hand caught the edge of his jacket, and my scared eyes clashed with his.
I looked deep down in his irresistible eyes that throbbed my heart with a sensual sentiment.
I scanned his almond-shaped eyes, a hawkish nose, and till reaching his glossy lips, he pulled me.
The blank expression I had after noticing he was none other than my boss, Han Shuo, dragged me to an awkward silence.
My fear was lost in the air for a moment until he asked me, "Tang Xue, what are you doing here?"
It reminded me of the person following me. I stuttered, while telling him the truth. "S-someone i-is following me."
He looked around, seeing me like this, and said, holding my hand. "Come with me."

We sat like this at the bus stop for quite some time.
Neither did he ask me, nor did I.
He offered me a bottle of water, and I gradually accepted it.
Then he asked me some questions, and I answered him.
Someone was following me for the past few days, but I never noticed. However, today I started getting scared seeing that shadow. Crime news around my area horrified me.
His reaction wasn't what I expected. He was more than likely furious to know this.
Raising his voice a little, he scolded me. "How can you be so careless? Why didn't you tell anyone about this, Tang Xue? It could be bigger than just following you around."
Honestly, I was glad to hear his scolding.
Even though my best friends cared for me, nowadays, they seemed too involved in their own life.
We rarely spent time together, which made me feel lonely day by day.
I felt as if we were getting departed.
He checked on his wristwatch and said. "It's been late already. Let me drop you home."
I nodded my head and quietly followed after him as he had a 'pissed' look plastered on his face and seemed in a mood of scolding me more.

He stopped his car outside my building, and we got off.
I waved my hand towards him and said, "Thank you for today. I'll see you tomorrow in the office."
He hummed and signaled me to go first.
I bowed to him and started climbing the stairs to my floor.
Han Shuo's POV
I watched her climbing the stairs.
Turning back, I was about to leave when I conceded someone's shadow.
My brows raised as I looked back and saw a person wearing a black hoodie going after her.
Wasting no time, I ran to chase him.
By the time I reached there, he had entered her place. I ran inside without any delay and saw him covering her mouth.
She struggled in his arms as my hands caught him from behind and saved her.
I grabbed his collar, and my fists smashed on his face. I kicked, putting a hole in his stomach.
I saw his eyes and assured myself not to meet them again.
I put my fist onto his nose, causing his nostril to bleed.
He seemed injured, but I kept ongoing. I ought to make sure he couldn't move by the time cop reached here.
Leaving him in an uncertain state, I turned towards Tang Xue, who shivered in fear.
Out of a sudden, her eyes widened, and she alerted me. "Move to the side."
When I shifted to the side, he missed his target.
And holding a sharp knife in his hand, he almost stabbed her, but I blocked him with my hands.
As a result, my hands started bleeding. The blood flooded like water flooding in a sea.
My eyes twitched as the pain was unimaginable. I groaned, moving and resting my back against the wall.
Her mouth was wide open.
No one knew from where she got so much strength as she picked up a flower vase kept nearby and hit it on his shoulder.
With his one arm, he supported his shoulder and had fallen on the ground on his knees.
Then the door opened, and everybody turned on the light in their house. The police officers had arrived and caught the guy while some looked after us.

While taking him, a cop came to us.
While greeting us, he conveyed. "Thank you, Mr. Han Shuo and Ms. Tang Xue. Because of you both, we were able to catch him today. He chases the girls and robs them. Many cases came to the fore, but we failed."
He bowed to us, and we bowed back.
Taking his leave, he walked away.
A sigh of relief escaped from my lips, and I caught a glimpse of her staring at my hand.
"Alright! Be careful from now on. I'll take my leave as well."
"Wait!"
I paused and waited for her to continue. However, she silently grabbed my hand and asked me to follow her.

She made me sit on a couch while taking out a medical kit from a drawer.
Sitting beside me, she took out a cotton ball and stopped my bleeding.
She headed to the bathroom and came out with water in a mug.
Gently, she cleaned my fist with her tiny hands. She put the ointment softly, trying not to make me feel any pain.
As she was busy caring about my wound, I was only staring at her.
For a moment, I seemed lost in my fantasy. It was the first time I had seen someone so close, with so much desire.
I felt relieved seeing her face. My anxiety was disappearing within time. She applied ointment to my hand, but it felt as if she healed the wounds of my heart.
All the sorrow had vanished in just one blink. I couldn't understand this misery.
She put on a bandage and glanced at me. "And it's done. Don't let your hand come in contact with water."
Shrugging my thoughts off, I hummed and stood up. We walked together till the doorway.
"Alright, lock the door and sleep now."
"Hmm! Then, see you tomorrow."
"Hmm."
Flashing her beautiful smile at me, she locked the door.
It took me a moment to finally get what I felt.
"Why did I just stare at her like that?"
