Xingyue's POV
By the time I reached the office, everything was in a rush. The telephones were constantly buzzing. Taking a step forward, I went to Xia Na's desk. She seemed engaged in attending others' calls.
Hanging up the phone call, she glanced at me timidly. "What to do, Xingyue? The entire company is in a mess. Clients are calling to verify the rumour. And more than that, I think Tang Xue is stressed."
"Don't worry. You handle the media and press. I'll go and check on them."
Under the plan, she sat back and continued to reply to emails.
I let out a sigh, walking towards his cabin.
I was about to knock on the door when I heard Tang Xue's voice. Peeking from a tiny open space, I saw them screeching at each other.
The entire company was in amazement when a press company leaked a photo of Han Shuo and Tang Xue hugging each other.
Within five minutes, it went viral, and people started talking sh*t about her.
Some said she seduced her boss. While others pointed out her character, calling her ugly, a gold digger, and whatnot.
I snapped out of my thoughts when I saw Han Shuo approaching her with a pitiful look.
"Ms. Tang, it was my fault. I apologise for this inconvenience. I'll clarify and make sure no one says anything nasty about you. I'll clear up our dating rumour too."
Upon hearing it, she scoffed in irritation. "Why can't it be true?"
He was as stunned as I was. He couldn't even utter a word. "Huh?"
It was too unexpected for him to accept her impulsive confession.
She approached him with a poker face. "I'm not sure if you're pretending or blind. You're with me while not even reciprocating my feelings. You said I comforted you." Pausing, she took another step towards him. "But then, why can't you look at me the way you look at Xingyue?"
I choked on my breath.
What was she saying? Did he like me?
It was getting uneasy to keep tuning in to their talk.
"Did... You know about this?" He asked with his wide eyes popping out.
Scoffing again, she replied, "Aren't you making it too obvious? Your eyes are filled with love and loneliness at the same time."
She looked up, trying to stop her tears from coming out.
"I can't stand it anymore. I'm a human too. My feelings got hurt too." She squinted, taking heavy sighs, until she declared the hardest decision of her life.
She stretched her lips, forming a tight smile. "You'll soon receive my resignation letter, Mr. Han."
Bowing, she approached the door as I moved back to hide. Without even glancing around, she walked straight out of the corridor.
I remained there, concerned about them, as I noticed his silence.

Author's POV
Working on his table, he paused to massage his eyes. His eyes shifted to the clock as he saw the time slip away.
He glanced at Xingyue, who was too focused on her work. Clearing his throat, he gained her attention. "Don't you have to go somewhere?"
She nodded her head as a 'no' made him impatient.
"Wait, are you sure about this?" He wanted to tell her badly, but he was stopping himself.
Flashback
Soon as he opened the door, a punch landed on Xi Song's cheek.
Groaning in pain, he rubbed his cheek and gazed at him.
"You bastard deserve another punch."
Clenching his jaw, he yelled, "ARE YOU CALLING YOURSELF OUT? DO YOU WANT ME TO CALL THE POLICE?"
"What the heck did you do to Xingyue? How come you ended up divorcing her?"
He took support from the wall and got up.
"I did what she wanted. I let her go because she deserves better than me. Wait, aren't you here to tell me you're about to chase her again?" He lightly scoffed, continuing to mock him. "Congratulations, Han Shuo. You'll finally have her."
He clenched his fist, rushing to grab his collar. He held him tightly and shot glares at him. "You're an asshole. You don't know how much I'm trying to control myself from hitting someone I used to see as a brother. The day you walked away from the band, I forgave you. But the day you broke my best friend Li Shing's heart, I couldn't stop but hate you. And now you've hurt the woman I adore. Why is it always you, Xi Song?"
He kept eye contact, jerking off his hands. "Because not even once did you try to hear my side of the story. You're wrong, Han Shuo. You haven't forgiven me for that. Instead, you kept adding new things to break our ties. I still believe you're my brother. No matter what you did, for me, we didn't change a single bit. You're still the sunshine the Han Shuo girls screamed for."
He could do nothing but laugh at it. "You still remember it?"
Nodding his head, he passed a smile as he calmed down. They finally had their long-awaited talk. If only people chose to communicate instead of pressing their emotions down, it could save many relationships.
"I saw your press conference. When are you leaving?"
"Next week's Monday at 11 PM."
"Then, what about Xingyue?"
He lowered his head. "Maybe you can take care of her from now on."
"Are you kidding me?"
"Weren't you in love with her?"
"I was until I discovered she was your wife."
"What do you mean? You don't love her anymore?" Watching him press his lips together to hide his mocking laugh, he grimaced. "Wait, were you pretending the whole time?"
"Sorry, but I didn't want her to suffer like Li Shing. I do indeed adore her. But I don't have romantic feelings for her."
Raising his brows, he sneered. "You should give an audition for movies. Your acting was too real for me."
"Thanks for the compliment." He winked.
Flashback ended
Xi Song's POV
Standing outside the boarding pass, I continued peeking at the entrance gate for a long time.
I know it would be a miracle if she came. Deep inside, I wanted to see her one last time.
"Sir, the flight is about to take off. Please, check-in." 
Turning back, I requested, "Can you please spare me two more minutes? My wife is yet to come."
As she nodded, I looked back with eager eyes. I kept praying to let me see her.
"Sir, it's already time."
Drained from expectations, I had to turn back.
I handed her my ticket and almost walked in when I heard someone calling my name.
"Xi Song!"
