Xingyue's POV
We both slept in the lap of a calm night. Today, after days, both of us were able to spend time together. The last few days were so hectic departing us.
I rested my head over his chest while his arms cupped me from all sides.
All the time, we were relishing in harmony, no talks, no worries, just me and him silently enjoying each other's company.
I could feel his smiles without even looking at his lips. We could finally feel the love in the air.
Everything was wordlessly romantic until he looked at me with puzzled eyes and asked about something that left me speechless.
"Xingyue, I overheard your chat with Wen Reng. Umm... Do you think we should share our past now? Like, only if you want..."
I understood his words thoroughly. I knew what he meant, and it made me feel as if there was nothing left other than sharing another chapter of our life with each other.
I paused to gather my shattered courage.
"Xi Song, I'm left with nothing but a dark past of my life. I'm all yours, and I hide nothing from you." I looked deep down into his eyes to let him see the pain I once tried to overcome. "Before we got married, I was in a happy relationship with Li Yubing. He was a pure soul I used to love. He made me believe as if I was the luckiest girl in this world. But then, one day, he suddenly thought of doing his business abroad."
*Flashback*
I walked after him and had tears building up in my eyes.
I followed him. I tried to grab his arms and make him stare into my terrifying eyes.
"Yubing, I'm not ready for a long-distance relationship. What if we stop talking one day? What if we ended up alone?"
He tried to calm my nerves down, but my insecurities didn't let me breathe for a second. I felt he would find a girl there and forget me.
"Xingyue, listen to me. Nothing will happen to us, I swear. I'll be back in just one year, and we'll get married, okay? After that, I won't leave you alone. We'll happily enjoy our married life. But for now, try to understand. This deal can take my business to the next level."
I knew Yubing loved business a lot. I was happy to see his progress. But never imagine one day, it would depart me from him.
He cupped my cheeks and planted a kiss on my forehead. Somehow, he convinced me. And my eyes witnessed the worst phase of my life.

We reached the airport, holding a hand in hand.
He carried his suitcase with one hand and was together, backing me with the left hand.
He took a step ahead after listening to the airport announcement. Then stopped and turned towards me. I was still holding his hand with a begging look on my face.
I wished to stop the time there and cling to him.
I wanted to tell him, "please, don't go. I can't imagine living alone without you." But the words never got a chance to come out. They remained there inside my sealed lips.
He kissed my hand and rubbed my back as well.
"I'll call you every day and never let you feel lonely. Trust me, Xingyue."
My heart was telling me something else. Despite that, I hid all the anxiety behind a fake smile.
My hands rested over his shoulder and his around my waist. We shared a last kiss and then never saw each other again.
The next day, I kept my phone close to my heart and waited for his call.
It was midnight, but my phone didn't ring. When it rang, it was from someone else.
All my thoughts become reality day by day.
We saw less of each other. No calls for over ten minutes.
He only told me how he enjoyed the new world and didn't bother to ask about me. Yes, he stopped caring about me. And somehow, I expected it too.
Call me stupid. I still believed that he would come back to fulfill his promises to me.
Years passed, and my heart broke down. I now knew the guy I wished to spend my whole life with left me alone.
I had no one by my side other than my best friends and my mom.
I was stupid to argue for him with my mom. She was right, and I was always wrong.
He proved my mom's words were accurate. He showed I loved the wrong guy with my whole heart.
*Flashback ended*
"I don't care about him anymore because I got the best husband in this universe. I know my man will never leave me behind."
I leaned over and kissed his lips.
With him, I felt flawless, and all my pain disappeared. I believed he was the best doctor because he healed my old wounds, leaving no scars.
I tightened my grip and fell asleep in his arms.

Xi Song's POV
I patted her back gently. Also, I couldn't stop smiling seeing her getting lost in the world of dreams.
She was comforting my restless heart without an effort. I guess that's love.
Just by looking at her, I could feel my body getting relaxed all by itself.
I was engaged, staring at her when a notification on my phone blew my sleepless nights up.
With my trembling hands, I unlocked my phone and read the message.
It was from the only obstacle that existed in my life, Chen Ting.
Chen Ting: Meet me at the coffee shop if you don't want me to expose everything to your so-called wife.
I couldn't explain how terrified I felt at that time. Even my soul was shaking from her warning. I knew she could destroy my whole family.
I was aware of her evil side as well, and that's why it worried me.
She was an expert in making fake scenarios that could emotionally kill Xingyue.
The more I imagined, the more I felt uneasy.

My feet were not ready to stay in one place. I was just knocking my fingers on the table.
Somehow, I got a chance to talk with her and end this past with her.
It wasn't easy, and I prepared myself for it.
Fifteen minutes had elapsed, yet she was not there.
"Was this a joke?" I assumed because she loved horrifying me.
I thanked God when I noticed her at the entrance. She looked like she would make me compensate for all those days.
I sat straight when she approached me.
She waved her hair in the air and took off her sunglasses.
Her sassy smirk made me gulp.
"Long time no see Dr. Song. I'm wondering how your life is going without me. No drama, right?" She laughed like a loony while I had no reaction to give. "Sorry, I'm here to add spice to your love story. Of course, no one likes a sweet dessert till they eat a hot spicy meal."
"What do you mean?"
She put a file in front of me with her beloved mischief smile and replied.
"Meaning, if you want peace in your life, then surrender yourself in front of me. Otherwise, I love extra spice, Xi Song, and you know it too. I will put too much pepper in your love story that you cannot swallow even a single bite. If you want to see her happy, accept my one condition."
A drop of sweat fell from my forehead.
She scared me to hell.
"W- What is it?"
"Leave her and marry me."
