Narrator's POV
Chester was busy with his laptop as usual when the power went out and darkness filled everywhere.
“That's odd.” He mumbled to himself. He tried turning on his laptop, but it didn't turn on.
“ Ugh! Why?” he yelled, looked out the window and noticed that, literally, everywhere was dark. ' Solar eclipse? But this wasn't meant to happen this year' he thought as he turned on his phone.
“Shit! No cell service,” He cursed. ' Let's check on Charlie first,' he thought as he left his room. On his way to Charlie's room, he heard a knock on the door,' who could that be? Why would anyone knock on our door?' he thought.
“I will check on Charlie later, let's see who's at the door” He said as he walked towards the door and checked the whole to see who it was. But no one was there.
“ odd? However Someone knocked just now, ” Chester mumbled to himself' don't tell me some kind of ghost is toiling with me' he thought.
“ Bullshit! Let's go check on Charlie” Chester said, when he was about to leave someone knocked again. ' I'm curious, though, ' he thought as he rushed to open the door. It was his dad!
“ Dad? ” Chester mumbled as he stared at his father, whose head was down.
Charlie's POV
I was lying idle on my bed with nothing to do, all of a sudden, everywhere became dark.
' It is time' my inner consciousness spoke.
“Time for what ?” I asked as I rose from my bed and I wore an oversized blue hoodie.
' The curse *laughs maniacally* more of me are coming to life' it replied.
“What the fuck? ” I asked,' I have to warn Chester' I thought, as I was about to leave my room, but something made my body stiff.
' Do you really want to save that brother of yours I thought you wanted him dead' it asked.
“ Since when did I ever say I wanted him dead? Let me go” Charlie mumbled.
'Really? Well, it's too late your brother will die once he opens that door, let's see if you can stop his death, if you do, then I'm going to help you survive this cursed city without pulling any tricks and I won't ever ask for you to form a contract with me ' it said.
' Fine, I will do it,' I replied.
' It's a deal then' it said, and I was about to walk again.
“ What the hell? ” I heard a scream,
“ Chester!” I called as I rushed out of my room.
Narrator's POV
“ Hey! Seon Hye, Dante, Kayla, come see this" Owen called.
“ Ugh! What is it? Owen, just when I was about to get some sleep” Dante asked as he rose from the bed. Seon Hye and Kayla quickly stood up and rushed to the window.
“ Why is a solar eclipse occuring? It's not meant to happen this year, ” Seon Hye said.
“ Everywhere is so dark” Kayla said, almost looking at the sky.
“ Hey! Don't look directly at the sky, ” Seon Hye said to Kayla and Dante.
“ I told Maddie I had a bad feeling about this city,” Owen mumbled.
“ Let's not jump into conclusions, ok, maybe NASA had it all wrong, ” Kayla said.
“ That's unlikely” Seon Hye replied and Kayla rolled her eyes.
“ So what do we do? ” Dante asked.
“ We wait, I guess,” Seon Hye said, unsure of what to say.
Meanwhile …
Maddie and Annie walked down the hallway leading to the reception of the hotel. When they got there, they couldn't find the receptionist who was there earlier.
' That's weird' Maddie thought.
“ Ugh! Why is it suddenly dark here? And still no cell service, come on!!” Annie yelled as she and Maddie both turned on their phone torchlight.
“ Why are you still following me?” Maddie asked.
“ Don't worry I only wanted to follow you out, we will go our separate ways from there ” Annie said, still trying to get at least a bar.
“ You know, I don't understand how you and Owen are twins or even related ” Maddie said
“ Why don't you shut your…” Annie was about to complete her sentence when Maddie gestured for her to be quiet because she heard footsteps.
“ Shhh! I heard something” Maddie whispered as she covered Annie's mouth. Luckily, it was just Mrs. Harper coming down from the stairs with her phone touch light on.
“ The elevator wasn't working, so I had to use the stairs. Anyway, what are you guys doing down here all by yourselves? I ordered everyone to stay in their rooms” Mrs. Harper said.
“ We were just curious as to what was making everywhere dark” Annie replied.
“ It's an unannounced solar eclipse, nothing serious, but suddenly the lights went out and there's no cell service, so I'm uncertain if this is happening all over the world.” Mrs. Harper said. ' Solar eclipse?' Maddie thought.
“ But they didn't tell us that a solar eclipse will occur, ” Annie replied.
“ I know. About the lights, where's the receptionist?” Mrs. Harper asked. Both Maddie and Annie shrugged.
“ We don't know, when we arrived she wasn't here” Maddie replied. Just then, the receptionist walked in. The receptionist had her head down, and she walked towards them in a weird manner.
“*Sigh* oh. There she is, you two go back to your rooms, okay?” Mrs. Harper said to Maddie and Annie, they nodded and began to walk towards the stairs. Suddenly, the receptionist fell to the ground breathing heavily, Mrs. Harper rushed to her and began to ask questions.
' What's wrong with her?' both Maddie and Annie thought. “ Wait, that woman doesn't look normal, is she even human?” Maddie mumbled. To Mrs. Harper the woman looked like a normal human being but Maddie and Annie could only see a odd looking creature, and they could perceive the foul smell coming from it' it smells like a dead corpse' Annie thought as she covered her nose. Maddie and Annie began to move backwards.
“ Mrs. Harper, I doubt that's the receptionist” Maddie said.
“What are you guys talking about, she looks as if she's in great pain, you guys should go back up. Hey, miss, are you okay? I just wanted to know what's wrong with …” Mrs. Harper couldn't complete her sentence because The receptionist suddenly opened her eyes, bounced onto her and began to bite her neck off.
“ What the fuck?” Maddie exclaimed.
