Then Natanie smiled awkwardly. “Yeah right, of course. We are.” She didn't get why it sounded stupid, so stupid. With Dave screwing holes inside her head and her heart thumping awkwardly against her chest, she was starting to lose it. It's even more awkward she feels that way even with Fred around. What was this feeling? Why was Dave just staring at her without saying anything? What's his problem? I smiled more at Fred and he reciprocated. “Oh my God, she's blushing.” Isabelle blurted much to Natanie's annoyance. Blushing? Can she see that she was forcing her smile through the awkwardness, and she thinks she's blushing? Can she differentiate a smile from an actual blush? “Isabelle.” Natanie eyed her as Isabelle dramatically surrendered her hands in the air. “I believe there's no doubt about that.” Dave finally spoke up and Natanie looked at him like he's grown another head. “You two definitely look good together.” Dave added as a pang weighed on Natanie's chest. She felt disappointed for some reason but what was she expecting him to say? Dave straightened himself as if it was hard to contain. Seeing Natanie approach them and seeing her smile at Fred, made his nerves crack for some reason. But he could agree that they were meant for each other. Natanie's smile was slowly falling but she willed her lips to remain perked up and not make it obvious that she was disappointed by his response. Dave's eyes were still on her, never looking away and Natanie felt exposed trying to pretend that those eyes of his weren't mesmerizing enough to peer into despite her awkward state. Then Fredrick got a quick call and decided to leave. “I uhm_ should be on my way now.” Fred's gaze moved from Natanie to Isabelle whose smile didn't fall or tried to fall unlike Natanie’s. “I should see you off.” Natanie managed to say as Fred gave a slight nod. “Alright guys, see you soon.” Fred said his goodbyes as he pecked Isabelle on her cheek and gave Dave a warm handshake. Then he held Natanie's hand and departed with her. “I hope they won't split up again.” Isabelle muttered as Dave stared intently at her. “What's that supposed to mean?” He asked curiously. Isabelle waved him off. “Don't worry about it, what matters now is that they're together.” Dave tried to keep his curiosity at bay and Isabelle watched the couples walk further away. “I'm curious, what's the cause of their separation?” Dave asked as Isabelle perked a brow strangely annoyed by his interest. “Look Dave, I don't get why you're so concerned. What happened is all in the past, bringing it up won't solve a thing.” Isabelle stated as Dave slightly nodded at her. “You're right.” He said simply. “Let's go in.” She said as he shook his head. “No, no, you go ahead. I'll be fine here.” He muttered and looked away. Isabelle's chest heaved up and down. She hates that she isn't getting her way when it comes to him. Why did she grow upset with the way his eyes blazed with curiosity? She became teary for some reason and she just stood there defenseless and ironing out her patience. She finally decided to walk away and head into the building. She sighed, blinking back the tears. No doubt she likes him, and she's finding time to tell him because he's successfully made her head beat drums. Dave stood there staring at the sight of Fred and Natanie. He watched Fred kiss her and he immediately looked away with clenched jaw. He never wanted to see that. But then again, he wondered that with that kind of kiss, who would have thought they had problems? When Fred left, Natanie's gaze found Dave's a little distanced away. She stared as if struggling to get a glimpse of his bright blue eyes. Dave stared back, dimly. ** At Dusk, Dave drove peacefully to Harnik’s apartment. He's Dave's best friend who works partly in a registry court and partly as a private detective. Dave found him strangely arranging different documents. Dave pressed his lips, so typical of Harnik. He's always sneaking around. “Hey Harnik.” Dave greeted. “Hey man, what's up?” Harnik said as they both shook hands. “You look like you've lost focus, what're you up to?” Dave inquired and settled himself on a small chair opposite his friend. “Not really, just warming up for work.” Harnik said looking uncomfortable. “Are you alright?” Dave asked his friend. “I wouldn't say I am.” “Wanna talk about it?” “Not sure I should.” Harnik's face revealed a certain level of unstableness. “Are you sure you don't wanna talk about it?” Harnik shook his head. “I confidential.” Dave nodded. “Alright.” “So what brings our newest dance director here? I'm pretty sure you didn't come with a clear head.” Harnik chuckled as Dave facepalmed himself. “You're right, I'm not with a clear head. Look man, I came here because I know I can count on you.” Dave lowered his head and appeared serious. “Yeah you can, so what's up?” Harnik asked looking intently at his friend. Harnik pressed his lips into a thin line as his hair covered one of his eyes, giving him a cute appearance. “Do you have a clue about a woman named Madina Sorris?” Dave muttered. “Madina Sorris?” "Yeah, you know her?" Dave asked in hopes. Harnik furrowed his brows in thought. "I'm not sure, but the name sounds familiar." "How do you know her, you've seen her before or_" Dave blinked severally. "I'm not sure but I remember a woman who came here asking for the same person. Her name is Cathera Mordrid. I remember her say she needed to find her to clear things up with her." Harnik shrugged. "Cathera Mordrid?"
