Natanie stood out in the open space, her hands lightly glued to the varender as the peaceful night breeze blew her hair back while Dave watched from behind. The bright light from the building spread across the fields, she sighed. Her favorite spot yet. Dave quietly approached her from behind. “Hey.” He greeted. She threw quick a glance at him and responded. “Hey.” He looks cool, she thought. “How have you been?” He asked calmly. But his voice pierced deep into her heart as it has always. “Sliced?” She replied as though a question. He nodded slightly. “It will pass.” He muttered as she shook her head negatively. “I doubt it will.” She said honestly. “My life seems to be a mess and everything is just…” She trailed off. “He nodded again. “Like I said, it'll pass. I believe in reality.” He blurted and came up with a certain kind of smile that made her head pop. “Or imagination?” She focused on him. “Uhm well, let's just say it's real imagination.” He chuckled as she let out a short laugh at his contrast. And then slowly and faintly, she winced. “I hope so.” She added. Their eyes locked for a moment and then he thought of ways to wiggle their way out of the silence that enveloped them. A part of him swore that he could be out of his mind because he suddenly reached for her face with his long and beautiful fingers and touched her cheek. She blinked at his touch, not at all surprised at his actions because she craved for more than that. He swallowed the lump in his throat as if willing himself to not do what he thought to do. Whereas, her heart seems to be crying and groaning and yearning for him in ultimate acceptance. “I know so.” He said softly and withrew his hand from her face. She felt slightly disappointed at his actions. “I have something for you.” Dave spoke as he held out a document to her as she took it. “What's this?” Her eyes glued to the documents. “Answers.” He responded as she rested her eyes on him. “To what?” She asked with utmost uncertainty. “To all your questions.” He said blankly and flashed her a small smile. Heavens! She was beginning to love this man. His kindness, his care, gosh! His tempting features… she thought, obviously distracted. “I guess I will leave you alone to that.” He said backing off. There he goes again trying to disappear from her sight. She was beginning to dislike his unavailability. She didn't want him to go, she didn't want him to leave her. Her lips trembled slowly at the sight of him walking away. “No, I want you to stay.” She said as he immediately stopped on his tracks, observing her face. His eyes were obviously asking questions, questions he wasn't sure he'd get the answer to. “Whatever…” She began and paused for a moment. “Whatever answer I get from these papers, I would like you to be here with me while that happens.” She said and he wasted no time to accept her proposal. “Alright, I'm here.” He spoke calmly and openheartedly as she nodded in his direction. Then she opened the file. *** Madina moved away from Kingsley, her eyes sparkled with doubt. “That can't be true, you're lying to me…” She mumbled at the verge of tears. “No.” He cut her off. “It's the truth.” Doubt and uncertainty pierced her heart. Over years that she's been suffering with the thought that Olivia was dead and gone, and now, it turns out that she lives? She focused on him. “If that's the truth, then where is she? I need to see Olivia, I need to see my daughter.” She said quickly as Kingsley stood up and approached her. He brought his hands to rub her arms in a soothing manner. But there's no calming an anxious Madina. Her heart heaved and pounded desperately against her chest. “Olivia is… here.” He spoke as she raised her brows in shock. “Right here in the Dance Palace.” He added as a small smile played at the corner of his lips. “You don't have to be nervous, everything is being taken care of.” He assured her but she shook her head in disbelief. “At least tell me Kingsley, do I know her?” She asked as her thoughts darted all over the faces of the dancers trying to figure out which of the dancers is her Olivia. “I'm not sure but I bet you do.” He said as she looked away from him and buried herself in thought again. “Her name is Natanie. Olivia is Natanie.” He said as her eyes shone with shock and disbelief. “No, it's not possible. How can it be?” Her heart literally failed. “It is.” He stated as he handed her a few papers. “That's the proof you need, she's our day.” Madina glared at the papers for a short moment as tears blurred her vision and rolled down her face, leaving her pale. “Natanie, our daughter?” She asked as she took the papers. “Yes.” He mumbled. The possibility of it struck her more and more until her legs became jelly. “This is a lot to take in.” “Yes I understand that.” He agreed. “So I must leave you to it.” He said softly and walked away slowly, a lone tear at the corner of his own eyes. “No, don't go. Stay with me.” She muttered under her breath as she slowly opened the the document. Her cries and screams were muffled and she covered her mouth at the sight of the proof she needed. “Natanie…” She breathed out.
