Madina handed Natanie a glass of lemonade. Natanie held her glass firmly and stared into the content. What Sharon said made her weak on her knees. Even at practice, she observed Sharon with remorse. She just hated her? With absolutely no reason? Sharon had only wanted to be friends with her. “Natanie.” Madina shook her out of her thoughts. “Are you okay?” Then Natanie felt she'd never be okay. After coming to terms with Sharon's situation, she'd never be okay with herself for acting the way she did. “Everything I've done _ Madina.” Natanie began. “Everything I've done, just turned out to be so wrong.” Natanie mumbled the last part. “What do you mean?” Madina was confused. “Sharon.” She looked at Madina in the eye. “ I treated her badly. I hated her without clear reasons. I ignored her, snubbed her, insulted her _ and after she confronted me to stop, I felt I was going to pay dearly for treating her badly.” “I feel so horrible Madina.” Natanie added. “No, don't talk like that. You're a good person.” Natanie shook her head. “Not after what I did to her, I feel so stupid.” “You know what I think?” Madina slowly took her hand, Natanie blinked back her tears. “You're a good woman and you always know the right thing to do.” Madina smiled at her. “You think so? Cause I'm not so sure.” She sniffled. “I know so.” Madina rubbed her hand and moved away from her. “Now, finish your drink so that you can calm down and afterwards, you can tell me about your meeting with Fred.” Madina smiled as she put away some clothes. Natanie was surprised. “Fred?” “Yes Fred or didn't you meet up with him today?” “No, of course not. I didn't meet up with him.” Natanie mumbled under her breath. “Are you sure about that? I'm certain I saw him around today.” “I'm sure I didn't see him today.” Natanie furrowed her brows in thought. “Then maybe he wasn't here to see you.” Madina said. Natanie nodded. “I'm pretty sure he came for something else.” She pressed her lips into a thin line. ** "So, the both women are related?" Harnik paced slowly in his sitting room. "Siblings." Dave straightened up. "That reveals a lot of things, you know," Harnik said. "Yes, and it could be something serious other than ‘long time no see’," Dave blurted. "I agree with you, but I have to call Cathera and tell her we've found her sister.” Harnik said thickly. “No_ I suggest we wait. If she's so keen on finding her sister, I say we find out why.” Dave said. Harnik didn't look convinced. “But they're sisters, right? I believe she's waited so long to find her sister and now that we have, why keep it away from her, and for how long?” Dave was silent for a moment. “You see man_” Harnik began to say as Dave cut him off. “Why do you look so impatient? You're acting weird and I'm curious.” Dave paused. “I hope this has nothing to do with your dirty business Harnik, or does it?” Dave raised a brow and Harnik's silence to his question immediately confirmed his thoughts. “I assure you that this is the last time _” Harnik said dejectedly. “Damn Harnik! That was what you said the last time and you're still filling me up with the same bullshit!” Dave said angrily. Harnik facepalmed himself, he had promised Dave that he won't tread down that dirty path. Dave looked disappointed. “Thought you've left it all behind, thought you'd changed.” “I did man_ it's just that _” Harnik paused. “Look Dave, it's something I've begun already and I definitely have to finish up and deliver.” “Tell me Harnik, how much were you paid this time? Or better still, what business is your hands dirty with? False identity? Or _ damn! I'm pretty sure you don't wanna get caught?” Dave said as Harnik sighed and adjusted himself awkwardly. “Fake marriage documents.” Harnik blurted as Dave scoffed in surprise. “What? You've obviously gone nuts!” Dave raised his voice as Harnik shrugged. “It looked like a good pay.” Harnik said airily. “There you go again, your freaking love for money!” “I know it's crazy _” “And you still go ahead with it?” “I couldn't control myself man, immediately I heard they'd pay good money, I jumped right in.” Dave raked his hair with his hand. “Anything else you got to confess? Before I break your pretty face.” Harnik furrowed his brows and raised his hands in surrender. ** “Isabelle!” Natanie shouted out of her sleep, seeing that she'd slept off at Madina's quarters. She had a pretty weird dream about Isabelle trying to kill her in her dreams. It was too scary to even think about. It was dusk and she groped her way out and into the vast space. She pushed back the sadness that accompanied her dream. Is Isabelle capable of hurting her? It's almost midnight and being half awake and half asleep made her head hurt a little. Then the wind blew her hair back, flushing her face. She let herself soak into the peace of the night. Dave came up behind her without her notice. He watched her run her shaky hands through her hair as she abruptly turned and the sight of Dave startled her. “Geez Dave!” She held her chest as if her heart was going to jump out of her skin. “Sorry _” “How long have you been there for?” She held the varender for support. “Not long.” He replied. “I'm sorry to have startled you.” He apologized as she bit her lip and ignored him. Then he slowly came up beside her, searching for her face. “You're shivering.” He said but she didn't notice she was until he said it. “Are you cold?” He asked. “No not really, it's all thanks to the fact that you sneaked up on me.” She muttered. He bit his lip. “Sorry about that.”
