But in the past week, that had proven too difficult to handle. Natanie was restless as she served herself a glass of lemonade in Madina's quarters. Her head was spinning and her heart, aching. She wandered in and out of her thoughts thinking about why Dave and Isabelle were fit and unfit for each other. It was truly daunting. ‘He’s not supposed to be with her, he's meant to be with me’ were her reoccurring thoughts which made her hand tremble a bit and caused her glass of lemonade to fall to the floor and shattered into bits and pieces. It was indeed frustrating. Her was so heavy that a lone tear rolled down her cheek as she sat on the nearest couch and held herself tightly. She wants him. No, she needs him. “Natanie?” Madina called from the door and seeing the broken glass scattered on the floor and a sulking Natanie, made her drop her bags of groceries in a hurry and approached Natanie. “Natanie? Are you okay?” Madina held her hand. Natanie looked up slowly and met Madina's eyes and shook her head. “No Madina, I'm not okay.” Natanie sobbed as Madina hugged her to her chest tightly. Natanie closed her eyes and refused to open them again. ** Kingsley Pain finally found his way to Cathera's apartment and walked briskly to her door. He knew her to be Madina's sister and his daughter's Aunt. So he thought Cathera would be of help for the search of his daughter. He thought to knock but decided against it. He didn't know how to face her after so many years of almost falling into her trap and after she had confessed her love for him. He sighed and decided to knock. Not long after knocking, Cathera opened up and he was faced with her shocked expression. “Hi, do you mind if I come in?” He managed to say as her face flushed a bit at the sight of him. She let him in. When he strolled in, his eyes read his environment. “Can't believe I will get to see you again after such a long time?” Cathera said as she gestured for him to sit. It was obvious that she couldn't hide her amusement on seeing him again. “Me too.” He said as he settled himself on her couch. “Certainly, you aren't here to just say ‘hello', what do you want?” She asked. He wasted no time to respond. “Answers_” She scoffed and leaned back into her seat. “To what?” “To my questions certainly but I don't get why you're in such a rush.” He raised a brow. “I know you don't just show up anywhere for nothing and certainly not my house after so many years, so I think the rush is necessary to get things over with.” She stated simply. Kingsley scoffed at her and stood up to pace around for a moment. “Where's my daughter?” He asked bluntly. Cathera looked away from him. “I don't know what you're talking about. Besides, I'm not your daughter's keeper.” “Don't play dumb with me Cathera! You know I don't do well with silly jokes. I know you know where my daughter is, so tell me, where is Olivia?” He demanded. Cathera rolled her eyes. “I don't know, why won't you just go and ask your beloved Madina where she is?” “I don't know where to find her.” He blurted as he raked his hair with his hand. He remembered how daunting it was trying to find her. She scoffed. “ But you definitely know where to find me? How awesome!” He ignored her. “If you know where I can find Madina, you might as well tell me and not make this any harder than it is already.” She eyed him and hissed. “I also have spent so much time searching for her but to no avail.” He became silent for a moment. “Maybe she's dead.” She blurted. “No!” He snapped. The actual thought of the possibility pierced daggers into his heart. “She isn't and can't be.” He added. She rolled her eyes. “Well, maybe she isn't but if and only we find out that she is, then _” “Don't you dare say that!” He rebuked her. She plainly ignored his rebuke. “You'll have to find her remains in the grave which after all, is where she truly belongs!” She raised her voice and then he moved towards her and grabbed her neck. “If it turns out that she truly is, I'll certain you end up there too!” He threatened as he let go of her and walked out of the house. She tried to catch her breath. “We'll have to see about that.” She muttered under her breath. ** Dave and Harnik were silent for a long period of time before Dave broke the silence. “I still can't believe this.” Dave said like he was trying to wrap his head around the situation. “Me too, obviously.” Harnik added. “Just at the verge of finding Natanie's real mother, the supposed father appears.” Dave sighed. “Indeed a headache.” Harnik said faintly. “If Cathera is not Natanie's real mother, why did she keep her and raise her without Natanie's adoption papers?” Dave was trying to connect the dots. “In one of Kingsley's articles, he mentioned that his daughter was stolen.” Harnik said. “So, Cathera had stolen Natanie?” Dave mumbled. Harnik slightly nodded. “Which is why there are no adoption papers. She was stolen, not adopted.” Dave sighed heavily. “We have to dig into it further. My gut tells me we're obviously missing out on something.” “True, we have to get to the bottom of this.” Harnik added.
