Chapter 2 Bidding Farewell with Furry Whispers -for now...
The morning of their flight arrived, and the house was buzzing with activity. Patresiah, however, found herself in her room, surrounded by her beloved pets. She stroked the soft fur of her fluffy cat, Mittens, and whispered a goodbye. She held her hamster, Hammy, in her cupped hands, promising to bring him back a special treat. But it was when she turned to her small, brown Chihuahua, Zhian, that the tears began to fall. "I'm going to miss you so much, Zhian," she sobbed, burying her face in the dog's soft fur. Zhian whined softly, licking away her tears. Patresiah knew she couldn't bring all her pets, but she had decided to take Zhian with her. He was her constant companion, her furry confidante, and she couldn't imagine leaving him behind. "Patresiah, honey, we need to leave soon!" her mother called from downstairs. "Coming, Mom!" Patresiah called back, wiping her tears. She carefully placed Zhian in his carrier, his little tail wagging excitedly. She knew he was happy to be going with her. "Patresiah, sweetie, are you ready?" her father asked, appearing in the doorway. "Almost, Dad," she said, taking a deep breath. She looked around her room, at all the familiar things she loved. She knew this was just a temporary goodbye. She would be back soon. As they walked down the stairs, Amelia and Richard, her parents, watched as she said her final goodbyes to her other pets, her voice thick with emotion. They understood her sadness, knowing how much she loved her furry friends. "Let's go, honey," her dad said, gently taking her hand. "We don't want to miss our flight." Patresiah nodded, her eyes still a little red. She took one last look at her pets, then turned to her parents, a small smile gracing her lips. She was ready for a new adventure, with Zhian by her side. On the way to the airport, Patresiah and Zhian played together happily. "Mom, look at Zhian! He's so happy, like he's never been out before," Patresiah said while playing with Zhian. Her parents laughed, and her mom said, "He'll be even happier when we get to the province." "But what if other dogs will bully him there, Mom," Patresiah worried. "Don't worry, dear. I can handle that," her dad said. "Your dad's right. So just enjoy yourself. We still have a long way to go to the airport," her mom said. Patresiah and Zhian, both looking out the car window the been the center of attention. Many people smiled at them and took pictures. "Daddy, please close my window. There are so many people taking pictures of us." Patresiah said. "Just let them be, honey," her dad said. "I'm shy, Daddy," Patresiah replied. "Don't be shy. Just let them," her mom said. After an hour, they arrived at the airport. Patresiah held Zhian close while her dad followed behind. "Daddy, which way we go? Here?" she asked. "No, honey. Just follow your mom," her dad said. Once inside the airplane, they were comfortably settled in their high-class seats. Patresiah and Zhian were both enjoying the flight. After a few hours, they arrived in Manila. They had dinner and booked a hotel room so they could rest. "Mom, this place is really nice, isn't it? This hotel is perfect," Patresiah said. "Now you know, you were still little the last time we came back here, honey. That's why you weren't excited about this vacation before." her mom said while applying skin care on her face. "True, but I want to explore here with Zhian. Let's go sightseeing, Mom, Dad. Please!" Patresiah pleaded. "Honey, I'm tired from the flight," her dad said, already lying down on the bed. "Right, let's rest first. Go take a shower. I'll bathe Zhian later when you're done," her mom said. "Is there a hairdryer here?" Patresiah asked. "Yes, I brought one because I knew you'd need it," her mom replied. "Stay here, Zhian. I'll just take a quick shower," Patresiah said, giving her dog a gentle pat. After Patresiah finished showering, her mom bathed Zhian. Once Zhian was dry, Patresiah asked her mom if she could blow dry his fur. "Okay, honey. Your dad and I will relax first. You can relax after that because we're going out later. And you, Zhian, go to sleep too, Don't be naughty," her mom said. "Okay, Mom. Wait, where's Zhian's clothes? I can't find them," She asked. "They're in the suitcase with your dad. Go look for them. I need to rest. I'm tired," her mom said. "Okay, Mom. Sleep well," Patresiah replied. Patresiah dressed Zhian, then she sanitized her hands, after that she applied her skincare routine. Then lay down on her bed, with Zhian snuggled up beside her. "Zhian, go to sleep now. We're going out later. We'll have lots of fun then," Patresiah said to her dog, while she was busy scrolling through her phone, uploading pictures of her and Zhian. Patresiah drifted off to sleep while hugging Zhian. When she woke up, food was already prepared. They ate together. "Mom, are we going out after this?" Patresiah asked, giving Zhian some food. "Yes, so finish your food. We're going to go sightseeing with your dad later," her mom said, while giving her husband more food. "Where do you guys want to go?" her dad asked. "Anywhere with a nice view, Daddy," she replied. "Okay then as you wish. Finish your food honey, later we will go somewhere her dad said.
