Chapter 14 A heartfelt plea

Because they had so much fun at the beach, Patresiah wake up late in the next morning because she was tired. Her mom told her to take a bath first and then enjoy her snack.
So, she took a bath and after she was done, she and Zhian enjoyed their snack together. Meanwhile, her parents were outside to spend time with their relatives.
While they were eating, Patresiah played video games, while Zhian just focused on eating. He was probably still hungry from all the fun they had yesterday! And when she still playing video games, Zhian was already done eating. It's a good thing he's such a well-behaved dog and didn't try to eat the food that wasn't meant for him.
Zhian kept bothering her, and when she looked, she saw his mouth was dirty. Since she knew Zhian was a smart dog who could follow commands, she told him to get the handkerchief from the table.
Zhian grabbed his mom's handkerchief, so she told him to put it back because his mom would get mad. After he put it back, he came back with a different handkerchief.
When Zhian gave her the handkerchief, she looked at it and realized it wasn't for her. She told him to put it back on the table because it wasn't his dad's. It sounds like Zhian was trying to be helpful, but maybe a little confused about whose handkerchief was whose so Patresiah let Zhian stay on the bed and she up to get her handkerchief.
She searched everywhere, even in the bathroom, but couldn't find it. So, she opened the door and called out to her mom, asking if they had seen a handkerchief downstairs.
Her mom said she hadn't seen it, so Patresiah searched again, but it was still nowhere to be found. Then, she suddenly remembered that when they were walking with Zhian during Christmas Eve, someone tried to get Zhian and tried to scared her that time, and she might have dropped the handkerchief then.
Since she could just buy a new one, she stopped worrying about who picked it up. Instead, she open her phone and just and enjoyed chatting with her friends rather than to continue playing her video game. It's always nice to connect with people and forget about little things like a missing handkerchief. They talk a lot, shared a lot, and she and her friends had a great time reminiscing about their Christmas Eve experiences. Her friends said they went out all night.
One of her friends said she met a guy and they're now a couple. It seemed like most of her friends were only focused on finding boyfriends; that was their main goal.
Since she couldn't relate coz she and Deo hadn't seen each other again—she just scrolled through her feed, watching different posts go by.
As she kept scrolling, she saw a shared video post. When she watched it, it was from the time she was at the 7-Eleven with her mom and dad. She saw the cashier she recognized from before walking out with a handkerchief. She quickly took a screenshot of the handkerchief so she could zoom in on it.
Because the image was blurry, she used an image enhancement app. When she saw the results, she was shocked and screamed. It was her handkerchief that the cashier was holding!
She watched the shared video again and took a screenshot of the guy. Then, she used a photo enhancer to get a clearer look at his face.
When she finally saw the guy's face, she couldn't describe what she felt. It was a mix of happiness, sadness, and regret all at the same time.
She suddenly realized that the cashier must have been the stranger guy from before. That's why she felt like she'd seen him before and why she felt so comfortable around him. She regretted not waiting for the cashier to come back that time .
She watched the video again, focusing on the part where the cashier walked out with the handkerchief outside the 7 eleven. She suddenly realized that at the moment he left while she's about to pay it's because he took the handkerchief somewhere where ever he put it, maybe that's why he really said to wait.
Patricia just stared, then she said to herself, "Why haven't have chance to talk before, even though he's right here in front of me?, why I didn't recognize him right away!"

She always thought maybe he has relatives in Dawis. That's probably why she didn't see him when they stopped at the barangay hall with her mom and dad.
But she also thought maybe he's from Bayawan, or maybe he worked there.

She wondered if that guy was a working student, or if he wasn't studying anymore.
She plan to tell to her parents that she wanna go back at Bayawan to have some fun again, and do a shopping, because that's the only way she can, because she wanted to go back at the 7-Eleven to see the stranger again coz she had so many questions.
She wanted to know for sure if he was the one who save her, or if he was just the one who who saw her handkerchief.
She wanted to know how the stranger found her handkerchief and why he didn't throw it away but gave it back to her.
So many questions kept circling in her mind, she was starting to get confused if her suspicions were right or not.
"Honey, open up," her mom said.
"Coming mom," she replied.
"Why didn't you come out? Aren't you hungry?" her mom asked.
"Nooooooo," she answered in a sweet tone.
"Come on, come out for a while. Your cousins are downstairs, spend some time with them," her mom said.
"Okay, mom, I'll be right down," she said.
"Okay, I will take Zhian  downstairs. They want to see him," her mom said.
"Okay mom," she said. "Just make sure they won't be hurt plss" she added.
A little while later, Patricia came out to talk to her cousins, even though in her mind, she couldn't understand some of them.
