Chapter 8 Patresiah's moment with her cousins

When they arrived in proper dawis , there were many vendors selling things along the roadside.
"Okay, we're here," patresiah said Larah said they are almost there.
"Where should I park?" Patresiah asked.
"Right side, next to the new wall of the barangay gate," Brian instructed.
"There's no parking lot here," she said.
"Yeah, this is the province," Brian replied.
"I know, I thought there would be a parking lot," she said and carefully parked the car, then her cousins and Brian all jumped out. She followed, carrying Zhian, and locked the car door.
"Larah!" Patresiah called out, spotting her cousins. Brian walked towards them. "Where should we sit?" Patresiah asked.
"There's no space," Brian said, looking around. "How about we sit on top of the car? We can watch the game clearly from there."
"Really?" Patresiah asked Brian.
"Yes, there will be a lot of people later, it will be hard to find a spot. But if we're on top of the car, it's no problem," Brian replied.
Patresiah was confused, but she agreed. Her cousins were already on the roof of the car, laughing and joking with Larah. Patresiah gently placed Zhian on the top and Brian helped her up.
Once she was comfortably settled, Patresiah noticed some people filming her and whispering. She couldn't understand what they were saying.
"What are they saying?" she asked Brian.
"They're saying you look like a celebrity," Brian explained with a smile. "They're asking if you're a famous actress."
Patresiah laughed. "I'm not famous, just a regular girl," she said. "But thanks for translating."
"You're half, that's why they're all admiring you," Brian said with a chuckle. "No problem." He added
"When does the game start?" Patresiah asked Brian.
"It's a bit early, the players are still arriving," Brian replied.
"Zhian seems bored here, good thing it's not too hot," Patresiah said.
"he's seems thirsty," Brian agreed.
"Is there any ice here?" Patresiah asked,
"Yeah, why?" Brian's as back.
"Let's buy 2, I'll put it in his tumbler so he can drink something cold," Patresiah said.
"Okay," Brian said. "Larah, watch over our cousins for a bit, Patresiah and I are going to buy some ice."
"Okay," Larah said.
"Piliti mig pagkaon" yelled of patresiah's younger cousin Paulo.
"Ateh i you back something for me" pea yelled at patresiah and because she understands she say yes then they leave.
As they were walking to buy ice, Brian's friend came up to them and started teasing him.
"Parttttt grabi gwapa MN kaayog mapingwit hahhaa , Ako na²" the guy wears a black t-shirt said.
"Hilom diha part hahaha" Brian respond while patresiah was just continue walking with him silently coz she didn't understand.
"Taga ASA na part? The other guy said
"New Zealand, ageh Rami Kay palit cyag ice "
"Sigeh part ipa ila² pd mi " they said together to Brian.
"Papaak kas iyang ero hahaha" he responded.
A few minutes later, Patresiah asked Brian, "Who were they? You guys seemed so happy just now."
"Just some friends, don't mind them. I was just joining in," Brian said.
"Okay. So where can we buy ice?" Patresiah asked.
"Over there, at the yellow paint," Brian pointed.
"Good! I'm going to get some ice cream too," Patresiah said.
When they got to the store, the seller was admiring Patresiah and teasing Brian about their relationship.
"She's my cousin. She's Tita Amelia's daughter," Brian said, adding, "Two ice, please."
"She's a beautiful girl, just like Amelia's. She's so tall," the seller said as they reached for the ice.
"You're buying some too?" Brian asked Patresiah.
"Yes," she answered kindly. "Eight ice creams, please," she told the seller.
"Okay, dear. Which ones are you getting? The ones for 35 or the ones for 100 plus?" the seller asked.
"The 35 lang manang. We're sharing with our friends, one each," Brian replied.
"Thanks for helping me," Patresiah said.
"No worries," Brian replied.
They walked back to their cousins, Brian carrying the ice and ice's cream they bought and Patresiah carrying Zhian.
As they were getting close, Zhian saw a dog and started barking at it. Luckily, she understood Patresiah quickly and didn't get too wild.
"Naa n Sila " Paulo said
"Hoy Paulo dapat mag English ka Kay dli mka sabot ug bisaya SI ateh patresiah, you should be like me" pea said confidently.
"Di man pd ko kasabot Gani niya may ka Kay English nka Daan kami dli" Paulo response.
"Maskin na! " Pea said angrily which looks like they are already arguing to each other and lucky to say that Larah is there and she make them quit.
"Hilom mo" she said, "you pea stop saying that to Paulo he wasn't grow like how you does so be friendly don't bully him just because he didn't speak English ok." She added.
"Maldit Kay Siya ateh" Paulo said.
"Fine sorry I'm just kidding" pea said.
They were beside patresiah's car, and Patresiah told Brian to give each of them ice cream, so he did.
After that, Patresiah opened her car and got Zhian's tumbler to put the ice on it.
"Hold this, Larah," she said giving the tumbler to Larah.
"Should I put ices in it?" Larah asked.
"Yes, please," she said.
She put Zhian on top of the car, and Brian helped her climb up.
Once they were all on top of the car, they enjoyed their ice cream, even Zhian. A few minutes later, the game started.
Her cousins were shouting and yelling, while she just sat quietly because she couldn't understand them. They were speaking Bisaya.
After the game, they went for a walk, ate street food, and played at the carnival. She was having a great time bonding with them, and she realize she hadn't updated her mom about their arrival at the barangay hall. It was already 6 pm and getting dark when her mom called, so they rushed home.
