CHAPTER THREE
CELESTRIA POV
Ugh, like, I just got to this lame village to, like, learn and grow alongside trees and grass. But seriously, on my very first day, Grandma, with her super judgy eyes, totally called me out for, like, starting a dumb fight. She was all like, "We don't bring trouble here." How lame is that?
Seriously, Grandma? Can't you loosen up a bit? I didn't come to this shabby place to follow all these lame rules, always with your old-fashioned rules and regulations. I wanted excitement and adventure, not some peaceful, do-nothing existence. But Grandma just couldn't handle my wild spirit.
She went on and on about how my actions affected the community. Blah, blah, blah. Like, seriously, who cares? It's not like anyone got seriously hurt. Can't they handle a little drama?
I couldn't help but roll my eyes as she lectured me about peace and harmony. Like, come on, Grandma, where's the fun in that? But no, she had to be all serious and ruin my vibe.
I gave her a half-hearted apology, promising to "change" my ways, but let's be honest, I'm not about to become some goody-two-shoes overnight.
Grandma's stern expression softened, but I could tell she wasn't convinced. She gave me a hug, but I could practically feel her disappointment in the air. Whatever. I don't need her approval or her boring lectures.
After the scolding, I stormed off to my room, slamming the door behind me. Ugh, I needed some time alone to process this unfair treatment. Who was Grandma to tell me how to live my life? I didn't need her boring lectures or her strict rules.
As I flopped onto my bed, I couldn't help but feel a mix of frustration and defiance. Sure, I messed up, but that's what happens when you live life on the edge. I didn't come here to conform or be like everyone else.
I pulled out my phone and started scrolling through social media, looking for some excitement to distract myself. Who needs this village anyway? I'll find my own fun, my own adventures, and show them what they're missing out on.
***
I woke up to the sun peeking through my bedroom window, casting a warm glow on my face. As I stretched and yawned,my heart sank as I saw Grandma standing there, her stern eyes fixed on me. She had a determined look on her face, and I knew I was in for another lecture.
"Get up, young lady," she said firmly. "It's time for your punishment."
I groaned, pulling the covers over my head, hoping to escape the consequences of my actions. But Grandma was having none of it. She pulled the covers off me and motioned for me to get dressed.
Reluctantly, I dragged myself out of bed and stumbled downstairs. The morning was still dark, and I wondered what kind of punishment awaited me. As I entered the kitchen, I saw a basket sitting on the counter, filled with gardening tools.
Ugh, seriously? This was my punishment? I expected something way more exciting and daring. But of course, Grandma had to ruin my day with her lame idea of discipline.
With a dramatic sigh, I reluctantly grabbed the stupid basket and dragged myself outside, trying not to let my frustration show. The air was so annoyingly fresh and crisp, and the whole village was still stuck in dreamland. It felt like a cruel joke to be up so early, all because of my little fight.
As we made our way to the garden, Grandma thought she could make this whole experience more bearable by giving me a lesson about nurturing the earth and appreciating nature's gifts. Blah, blah, blah. I just wanted this punishment to be over already. I mean, who cares about fruits and vegetables anyway?.
I grudgingly started picking the stupid tomatoes, cucumbers, and strawberries. The morning dew made my fingers all wet and gross, and I had to be careful not to squish the stupid produce. It was such a tedious and mind-numbing task
But as the sky slowly brightened, a tiny flicker of realization started to seep in. Maybe, just maybe, this punishment wasn't just about picking boring old produce. Maybe it was about teaching me something deeper, something about hard work and responsibility. Ugh, I hated when Grandma was right.
By the time I finished, the stupid basket was full of vibrant and colorful fruits and vegetables. I couldn't help but feel a tiny glimmer of pride. Maybe, just maybe, there was a tiny lesson hidden in this painfully dull chore.
Just when I was about to leave, a figure appeared before me. It was the guy I had a heated conflict with yesterday, the one who seemed to have a knack for pushing my buttons.
My annoyance flared up instantly. "Oh great, it's you again. What do you want now? Can't you just leave me alone?"
"Mate," he said, his voice firm and unwavering.
I blinked, certain I had misheard him. "What did you just say?"
His intense gaze bore into mine, his expression serious. "You heard me. You're my mate."
I couldn't help but burst out laughing, a smirk forming on my lips. "Oh, please. Is this some kind of joke? Are you trying to mess with me?"
He shook his head, his eyes filled with a mix of anger and determination. "I wish it were a joke, but it's the truth. Fate has a twisted sense of humor, it seems."
I let out a sarcastic laugh, my voice dripping with disdain. "Well, I hate to break it to you, but I have no intention of being your so-called mate. And don't know what kind of sick joke you're playing, but I'm not falling for it," I snapped, my voice filled with disbelief.
"There's no way I would ever be connected to someone like you, you're the last person I'd ever choose to be connected to. So save your delusions for someone who actually believes in fairy tales, because I certainly don't." With a dismissive wave of my hand, I turned my back on him, determined to focus on the task at hand and ignore his absurd declaration. "Mate? Seriously? Is he delusional, thinking I'd believe that nonsense? Am I supposed to be a fool?". I had no desire to entertain his crazy fantasies.
"Do you think I want you to be my mate? Well, honestly, I don't. Someone like you doesn't deserve to be a Luna. Maybe the Moon Goddess made a mistake in choosing my mate. I don't like you. If I could choose, I want Sarah to be my Luna, not someone like you who doesn't have proper manners!" He said with great anger and disappointment.
As his words echoed in my mind, I couldn't help but let out an exaggerated sigh of annoyance. Mate? Luna? Was he serious? It sounded like something straight out of a cheesy romance novel.
I turned back to face him, my arms crossed and a smirk written on my face. "Oh, Mr. Delusional, please. Are you trying to impress me with your made-up fairy tales? I've got better things to do than listen to your delusions of grandeur."
This guy frustration was evident, but I didn't care. I was in no mood to entertain his fantasies. "Look, I know you're living in your own little world, but I'm not buying into it. I have no interest in being your so-called partner or leading your pack. I've got my own life to live."
He let out an exasperated sigh, running a hand through his hair. "You just don't understand, do you? There's something special between us, a connection that goes beyond what you can comprehend."
I rolled my eyes, my voice dripping with sarcasm. "Oh, please enlighten me, Mr. Delusional. I'm dying to hear about this extraordinary connection that only you seem to believe in."
He looked frustrated, but I could see a hint of doubt in his eyes. "You may not believe it now, but someday you'll see. You'll realize that there's more to this world than you think."
I smirked, feeling a sense of victory in getting under his skin. "Sure, Mr. Keep living in your fantasy land. But don't expect me to join you on your little journey of make-believe. I've got better things to do than waste my time on your imaginary titles and roles."
With that, I turned on my heel and walked away, leaving him standing there with his bewildered expression. As I made my way home, I couldn't help but think, "Why am I so unlucky today? Why are so many things happening? Early in the morning, I'm already experiencing misfortune."Download Novelah App
