CHAPTER FIVE
CELESTRIA POV
So, there I was, dragged to the river by this crazy guy, the self-proclaimed romantic of the century. Ugh, mate talk? Seriously? As if life wasn't complicated enough.
He sits on a rock, looking all serious. "Ever think about us being mates?" he asks, like it's the most profound question ever.
I rolled my eyes, leaning against a tree. "Mate? Please, spare me the fairy tale nonsense. I'm not buying into some lovey-dovey daydream."
"Maybe it's about finding someone who just gets you, you know?" He smirk hinted at a deeper truth
I scoff, pretending to gag. "Please, spare me the cheesy lines. This whole 'mate' thing is so overrated."
He raised an eyebrow, looking all mysterious. "You never know until you try. Maybe you're just scared to believe in something real."
I shot him a glare. "Scared? Please. I'm not scared of anything, especially not some cheesy love story."
He leans in, undeterred. "Maybe it's about finding someone who complements your bratty self, someone who can handle your eye rolls."
I narrow my eyes at him, but he grins. "How do you even know when you've found this so-called 'mate? .
He shrugs, all cool and composed. "You just feel it. It's like a connection that goes beyond your bratty attitude."
I stare at the water, trying not to let his words mess with my brat vibes. The river flowed, and the sun started to set, casting a glow over everything. "This whole mate thing is still dumb, Mr. Delusional."
He smirks again, "Maybe you just need to stop being so stubborn and admit there might be something to it. And you can call me Damien, stop calling me Mr. Delusional."
I snorted, giving him a dismissive wave. "Whatever. I'll pass on the whole mate drama. I don't need someone to complete me or whatever. I'm perfectly fine on my own," I said while getting up so that I could go home.
"I know you don't believe me, so let me show you that everything I'm saying is true," Damien said, determination evident in his voice.
I raised an eyebrow, unsure but curious. "Oh really? And how exactly are you planning to do that?"
"Follow me," he said, grabbing my hand and leading me away from the river.
We walked through the forest, surrounded by the sounds of nature. I felt a mix of curiosity and nervousness. What was Damien planning?
After a while, we reached a quiet clearing. Damien turned to face me, his expression serious.
"Get ready," he said, his voice filled with intensity.
"What you're about to see is beyond your imagination."
With a determined expression, Alpha closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Suddenly, his body began to change. Muscles shifted, bones cracked, and in a matter of moments, he transformed into a magnificent wolf before my eyes.
I gasped, my jaw dropping in astonishment. It was unbelievable, like something out of a fairy tale. The wolf stood there, majestic and powerful, its eyes filled with a knowing gaze.
The wolf approached me cautiously, his eyes gentle and comforting. I felt a strange connection, a bond that went beyond words. It was as if he was trying to communicate something to me.
But before I could fully understand, dizziness overwhelmed me. The world spun, and I lost consciousness, falling into a deep sleep.
I slowly opened my eyes, feeling disoriented and confused. The last thing I remembered was witnessing Damien's shocking transformation into a majestic wolf. And now, I found myself waking up in an unfamiliar room.
My head throbbed, and I struggled to make sense of my surroundings. The room was dimly lit, with cold stone walls and ancient tapestries hanging on them. It felt like I had stepped into a different world altogether.
As I tried to sit up, a surge of dizziness washed over me, causing me to groan in discomfort. Suddenly, I heard Damien's voice, filled with playful teasing. "Well, well, well. Look who's finally waking up from her beauty sleep."
Confusion and annoyance mingled within me as I turned my head to see Damien leaning casually against the doorway. His smirked widened as our eyes met, revealing a glint of mischievousness.
I groaned, feeling a mix of embarrassment and annoyance. "Oh, please. It's not like I asked to pass out. Your little wolf show was just too much for me to handle."
Damien chuckled, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "I must admit, I didn't expect you to faint at the sight of me shifting. I guess I'm just too irresistible."
"You could have warned me about the whole wolf thing," I retorted, feeling a need to defend my dignity.
He chuckled, unapologetic. "Where's the fun in that? Besides, it's not every day someone gets to witness an alpha in action."
I rolled my eyes, trying to hide the blush creeping up my cheeks. "Don't flatter yourself, Damien. It was a shock, that's all."
"But seriously," he continued, his tone softening. "You fainted, Celestria. So I brought you to my room to rest. Couldn't leave you all alone and passed out, now could I?. I wanted you to wake up somewhere cozy, you know?"
"I appreciate your concern. But Damien, why did you bring me to your room? And where exactly are we?" I asked, a hint of curiosity in my voice.
Damien let out a sigh, his gaze fixed on his hands. "I brought you here because I thought it would be safer. Safer than leaving you unconscious in the forest where others could find you. We're in the hidden sanctuary, a place only a few know about."
The hidden sanctuary? It was difficult for me to comprehend. How did I end up here? And what did Damien mean by it being safer for me?
"What? Hidden sanctuary? What do you mean by that?" I stammered, confusion written on my face.
Damien chuckled, "Welcome to the pack. You're in the heart of the wolf's territory now."
"The pack? Like, a wolf pack?" I asked, confusion evident on my face.
"Exactly. You witnessed my little transformation, and now you're part of our secret world," Damien explained, his wolfish eyes gleaming. "What utter nonsense is this? Seriously, I just witnessed it, and now I'm magically part of it? Like, what kind of logic is this?".
I blinked, processing the revelation. "So, I'm in a place surrounded by werewolves?"
Damien nodded, "Yep, you're in the midst of the pack. Don't worry, they're friendly – well, most of the time."
I took a deep breath, trying to understand the uncanny situation. "Why did you bring me here?" I said in a scary tone.
Damien must have sensed my unease because he spoke up again, his tone softer this time. "You're safe here, Celestria. No harm will come to you."
"You better make sure! I'm leaving before my grandma comes looking for me! She'll be mad at me!" I insisted, my eyes darting towards the door.
I already took care of that, Celestria. I called your grandma and explained the situation. She wants you to stay here for tonight," he reassured me."
With a deep breath, I made a decision. "Alright, Damien. I'll stay. And thank you, by the way." I shyly said.
A knock on the door interrupted us,the door swung open, revealing Damien's mother. She entered the room, carrying a tray of food. Her warm smile instantly put me at ease.
"I thought you might be hungry, dear," she said kindly, placing the tray on the table beside me. "Welcome to our home, Dear. We're happy to have you here."
"Thank you, ma'am. I really appreciate it." I thanked her, grateful for the gesture.
She patted my hand gently and nodded. "You're welcome, dear. Just take a good rest, and I know you're still confused about what's happening."
Before leaving Damien's mother, with a gentle tone, looked at him and said, "Be a good host, Damien.
Damien nodded, a hint of pride in his eyes. "Of course, Mom," he replied, his mischievous grin softening into a more genuine smile. "I'll make sure Celestria feels right at home."
Damien excused himself with a smile. "I'll give you some time to adjust, Celestria. I'll prepare a room for you to spend the night," he said, his mischievous grin softening into a more caring expression.
I nodded, a mix of curiosity and unease swirling stirring with me. "Thank you, Damien," I replied softly, my voice filled with a hint of uncertainty.
As Damien left the room, I took a moment to look around, trying to familiarize myself to the unfamiliar surroundings. The room was simple yet cozy, with hints of nature and warmth that seemed to echo the presence of the wolves.
My mind was filled with questions, but also a sense of intrigue. What did it mean to be part of this wolf pack? How would my life change from this moment forward? Download Novelah App
