CHAPTER TWO
DAMIEN POV
I woke up feeling excited because today was a special day. I had planned a romantic date with my girlfriend, Sarah, in our small village. The sun was shining brightly, making everything look beautiful.
I quickly got dressed in my favorite jeans and a nice shirt. I wanted to look good for Sarah. As I walked to her house, I felt butterflies in my stomach. The village was busy with people going about their day.
When I arrived at Sarah's house, she greeted me with a big smile. Her eyes sparkled with happiness. We held hands and started walking through the village. It was peaceful and quiet, with pretty houses and colorful flowers.
"I love how peaceful our village is," Sarah said, her eyes shining with joy.
"Me too," I agreed, squeezing her hand.
We walked down the small streets, passing cute shops and cozy cafes. I could smell the delicious aroma of fresh bread coming from a bakery. We decided to buy some pastries to enjoy later.
Shall we get some pastries for later?" I asked, pointing at the bakery. Sarah's eyes lit up, and she nodded eagerly. We entered the bakery and chose our favorite treats, savoring the anticipation of enjoying them later.
As we continued walking, we found a lovely park in the middle of the village. It had beautiful flowers and a small pond with ducks swimming. We sat on a bench and enjoyed the peacefulness.
"Let's take a break here," I suggested, leading Sarah to a cozy bench. We sat down, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.
"This park is so lovely," Sarah remarked, watching the ducks swimming in the pond. "It really is," I replied, wrapping my arm around her.
As Sarah and I enjoyed our date in the village, she decided to go out and pick some flowers from a nearby garden. I found a comfortable spot to wait, admiring the beauty of the blooming flowers around me.
Suddenly, I heard a loud noise coming from the garden entrance. I turned my head and saw a girl, dressed in fancy clothes, barging in with an air of arrogance.
As I stepped into the chaotic scene, the air filled with tension, I couldn't help but feel a surge of protective instinct for my girlfriend, Sarah. Her eyes flashed with frustration, and her fists were clenched at her sides as she faced off against the bratty girl who seemed determined to pick a fight.
"Enough," I said firmly, my voice carrying the weight of command. "What's going on here?
The bratty girl bristled, her gaze defiant. "Who asked you to butt in?" she spat, clearly unaccustomed to being challenged.
"I am Damien" I replied, my tone brooking no argument. "And our village, we resolve conflicts with respect, not petty squabbles.
"Hey, let's all take a step back," I urged, trying to diffuse the situation. "We don't need this drama right now."
The bratty girl shot me a defiant look, but I focused on my girlfriend, trying to gauge her emotions. "Babe, what's going on?" I whispered, attempting to bring a sense of calm.
Sarah stepped closer to me, her hand finding mine as she sought reassurance in my presence. "Damien" She sighed, frustration evident in her eyes. "She bumped into me and didn't even bother to apologize, and she's saying all sorts of things to me even though she's new here."
I nodded, understanding the weight of the situation. "Let's talk about it later. Right now, let's just walk away from this mess" I squeezed her hand gently, silently conveying my support.
Turning back to the bratty girl, I spoke again, my voice firm but not unkind. "Whatever issue you have with Sarah, it ends here. We are not your enemies, and we will not be drawn into your drama." I said with a stern expression, my posture radiating authority as I approached the bratty girl.
But the bratty girl wasn't about to back down, her own temper flaring in response to my challenge. "Who do you think you are, stepping in like you own the place?" she spat, her eyes blazing with defiance.
I took a deep breath, attempting to remain calm despite the rising anger within me. "Look, we don't want any trouble. Let's just put an end to this and move on," I suggested, hoping reason would prevail.
"Move on? "We're not going any further until your girlfriend apologizes to me and admits it's her fault for this mess!" She declared with a smirk on her face.
"What makes you happ-." I couldn't finish my words when an old lady came in with a confused expression.
" Celestria! What did you do?" she demanded, her voice cutting through the tension like a knife. Her steely gaze shifted between us, assessing the situation with a shrewd eye.
I took a deep breath, attempting to maintain my composure despite the added complication. "We're just trying to leave," I explained, gesturing towards my girlfriend beside me. "There's been a misunderstanding, and we don't want any trouble."
The grandmother's expression softened slightly as she turned to her granddaughter. "Is this true, Celestria?"
Tiffany hesitated for a moment before nodding reluctantly. "But she did not apologize to me!"
The grandmother sighed, shaking her head in frustration. "That's no excuse for your behavior, young lady. Apologize to these nice people right now."
Tiffany mumbled a half-hearted apology, clearly unhappy about being reprimanded in front of everyone.
The tension finally dissipated as the grandmother guided her granddaughter away, shooting us an intense look over her shoulder. I breathed a sigh of relief, grateful that the situation had been resolved without any further drama.
Turning to Lily, I smiled. "Well, that was certainly unexpected."
She grinned back at me, her anger dissipating. "Yeah, thanks for stepping in, Alpha. I don't know what I would've done without you." I pulled her into a tight hug, feeling relieved that I could protect her when she needed me the most.
After the chaotic events in the village, Sarah and I walked back home in silence. The tension from the encounter with the bratty girl still lingered, but we were both grateful that it was already resolved.
We walked in silence for a while, the weight of the day's events gradually dissipating. I glanced at Sarah, seeing a hint of a smile playing on her lips. It was in moments like these that I recognized the strength of our connection, in each other's company.
As the familiar sights of the village passed us by, we began to exchange glances filled with understanding and support. It was as if we had formed an unspoken bond, a shared experience that brought us closer together.
I reached out and took her hand in mine, giving it a gentle squeeze. "You did great back there," I said softly, breaking the silence between us.
Sarah smiled, her eyes meeting mine. "Thanks, Damien. I couldn't have done it without you by my side."
We continued walking, the familiar streets of our neighborhood soon coming into view. The sun was setting, casting a warm glow over the houses and trees.
As we approached her home, I couldn't shake the feeling of relief, hesitant to say goodbye just yet. We both knew that the events of the day had taken a toll on us, but, after all, we were safe, and the ordeal was finally over.
Opening the door, we stepped inside, greeted by the comforting warmth of her home. Sarah let out a content sigh, kicking off her shoes and collapsing onto the couch.
I joined her, wrapping my arm around her shoulders. "Do you want anything? Tea, maybe?"She asked, wanting to do something to make me feel better after the stressful afternoon.
I shook my head, leaning into Sarah's embrace. "No, I'm okay. Just being here with you is enough."
We sat in comfortable silence for a while, letting the events of the day sink in.
Standing up, I offered my hand to Lily. "I should head home. If you need anything, just let me know, I'll see you tomorrow," I said, leaning in to place a soft kiss on her forehead.
Lily nodded. "Take care, Alpha."

As I entered my home, the familiar scent of dinner greeted me, eith the warmth of the evening. I kicked off my shoes and hung up my jacket, preparing to relax after the eventful day. However, as soon as I stepped into the living room, I was met with a concerned look on my mother's face.
"Damien, dear, what happened in the village today?" she asked, her voice filled with worry.
I sighed, knowing that I couldn't avoid the topic. "There was a bit of a commotion, Mom," I began, trying to find the right words to explain the situation.
My mother's eyes widened in concern. "Are you alright? Did something happen to you?"
I reassured her quickly. "I'm fine, Mom. It wasn't anything too serious. Just some disagreement between people."
My mother studied me for a moment, her expression softening with understanding. "Well, I'm glad you're okay. But what about Sarah? Is she alright?"
I nodded, a small smile forming on my lips. "She's okay, too."
"I'm glad to hear that. You two always seem to have each other's backs," my mother said with relief.
I nodded, grateful for my mother's understanding. "Yeah, we do."
My mother smiled, a hint of satisfaction in her eyes. "It sounds like you both handled yourselves well. Just remember to always look out for each other."
I nodded, feeling a surge of gratitude for my mother's wisdom. "I will, Mom. Thanks."Download Novelah App
