CHAPTER 16
DAMIEN POV
I stood outside the pack's house, the morning sun casting a warm glow on the surroundings. As I prepared for the day ahead, my mind filled with thoughts of our Luna, Celestria. Little did I know that this day would bring an unexpected sight that would leave me stunned.
As I turned the corner, my eyes widened in disbelief. There she was, Celestria, entering the pack's house with tears streaming down her face. My heart sank, and a knot formed in my stomach. What could have happened to bring such sorrow to our strong and resilient Luna?
Without hesitation, I rushed towards her, my concern overriding any other thoughts. "Celestria!" I called out, my voice filled with worry.
She turned towards me, her eyes red and puffy. It was clear that she had been crying for some time. "Damien," she whispered, her voice choked with emotion. "I... I couldn't bear it anymore."
Confusion and concern mingled within me as I reached out to comfort her. "What happened, Celestria? Please, tell me."
She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. "It's Grandma," she said, her voice trembling. "We had a huge fight, and she couldn't accept my choice to be with the pack. It broke my heart, Damien."
I felt really sad when I heard her words. I saw how close Celestria and her Grandma were, and the thought of them breaking apart was really painful. "I'm so sorry, Celestria," I gently said, my voice showing that I get it. "It must be hurting a lot."
Tears welled up in her eyes once again, and she nodded, her voice barely a whisper. "It hurts, Damien. I never wanted to hurt her, but I couldn't abandon the pack. They're my family too."
Gently, I reached out and took her hand, squeezing it lightly. It was a small gesture, but I hoped it conveyed my support and understanding. Celestria nodded, her voice barely a whisper as she spoke, the weight of her words reflecting the heaviness she carried.
"It hurts, Damien," she murmured, her voice trembling with emotion. "I never wanted to hurt her, but I couldn't abandon the pack. They're my family too."
I listened carefully, understanding the mixed feelings she was going through. It's tough when we have to decide between different things that matter to us in life.
"You made a difficult choice." I responded, my voice gentle and filled with empathy. "Sometimes, life presents us with situations where there are no easy answers. It's understandable that it hurts, but remember, we're here for you. We'll support you through this."
She looked at me, showing both thanks and sadness in her eyes. She was happy that I understood her difficult situation and was willing to help.
"Thanks, Damien," she whispered, her voice filled with sincerity. "Your help really matters to me."
I was surprised by how sincere Celestria sounded when she thanked me. It made me happy to know that my help really mattered to her. Times like these strengthened our connection and reminded us how crucial it is to be there for one another.
I smiled softly, wanting to convey that she could always rely on me for support. The pack wasn't just a group of individuals; we were a family, bonded by love and unshakeable loyalty. In moments like these, it was crucial to remind each other of the strength we found in our unity.
"You don't have to thank me, Celestria," I replied, my voice warm and comforting. "We're facing this together, and we'll figure out how to deal with these problems. Your health matters to me, and I'll always be here for you."
I wished my words made her feel better at that time. Celestria's eyes got a bit gentler, and I saw a tiny bit of hope in her sadness. It felt good to know I could help her and have a reason that made me feel satisfied.
As we walked back to our house, Mom looked worried. She saw Celestria's cheeks wet with tears and could tell something was bothering her. Dad came over too, his eyes showing concern.
"What happened, my dear?" Mother asked gently, her voice full of compassion.
Celestria breathed in deeply, her voice shaky as she talked about the sad argument with her Grandma. She told the story of having to pick between her family and the pack, her voice sounding both sad and determined.
Dad's eyes got softer, and he put a reassuring hand on Celestria's shoulder. "You made a tough decision, my child," he said, understanding in his voice. "But keep in mind, family isn't just about blood. The pack is your family now too, and we'll support you."
Mother nodded, her eyes showing kindness. "We're here for you, Celestria," she said, speaking gently but with determination. "You're not by yourself in this journey. Count on us whenever you need help."
A feeling of relief swept across Celestria's face as she understood how much our family cared. The burden on her shoulders seemed to get lighter, knowing she had people to lean on. In that moment, the pack's house truly felt like a home, a safe place where love and understanding were strong.
As we sat around the table, the smell of breakfast filling the air, I felt a urge to lighten the mood. "Let's forget about the serious stuff for now and enjoy our meal," I suggested, a playful smile appearing. "Starting the day with laughter is much better than tears."
Celestria's eyes sparkled with a bit of amusement, and a small smile appeared on her face. "You're right, Damien," she said, her voice sounding a bit cheerful. "Let's concentrate on the now and have fun together."
The room filled with laughter as we shared stories and playfully teased each other. The weight on our hearts seemed to disappear, and we felt a stronger sense of friendship and warmth. It showed us that even when things are tough, being together can bring comfort in the little moments.
With the morning sun casting a golden light, our breakfast turned into a joyful gathering. Each bite felt special, reminding us of the connections that kept us close. In that instant, I was sure that our family, whether by blood or pack, could handle any challenges that crossed our path.
With our tummies satisfied and our moods lifted, we started the day feeling more determined. We understood that problems might still come, but we confronted them knowing we had each other. Our family, made stronger by love and knowing each other, would keep helping and encouraging, no matter what challenges were in store.Download Novelah App
