CHAPTER SIX
DAMIEN POV
As I busied myself preparing the room for Celestria to stay in tonight, my thoughts were consumed by the events that had happened. I couldn't help but feel a sense of responsibility towards her, wanting to ensure her comfort and safety in our pack territory.
Just as I was placing fresh sheets on the bed, my best friend, Beta, entered the room with a curious expression on his face. He glanced around and then locked eyes with me, raising an eyebrow.
"Hey, Alpha. Who's the girl in your room?" Beta asked, his voice filled with curiosity.
I paused for a moment, trying to find the right words to explain the situation. "Her name is Celestria," I began, gesturing towards the room. "She's someone who ended up here by chance. I found her unconscious and decided to bring her under our protection."
Beta's eyes widened in surprise. "Wow, that's quite unexpected. Is she okay?"
I nodded, a small smile playing on my lips. "She's waking up now. I just wanted to make sure she has a comfortable place to stay for the night."
Beta walked over to the window and peered outside, his gaze distant. "The pack is going to be curious about her. Do you think they'll accept her?"
I sighed, realizing the potential challenges that lay ahead. "I can't say for certain, Beta. But I hope they'll see that she means no harm and welcome her into our pack with open arms."
Beta nodded in understanding, a serious expression on his face. "Just let me know if you need any help, Alpha. We're in this together."
His words warmed my heart, grateful for his unwavering support. "Thank you, Beta. Your friendship means a lot to me."
As we continued our conversation, Beta's curiosity took an unexpected turn. When he ask about my own relationship. His question about my girlfriend, Sarah, caught me off guard, and I paused to gather my thoughts before responding.
"Alpha," Beta began cautiously, "Speaking of relationships, what about Sarah? Your girlfriend? What will you do now that you've met your mate?" Beta asked, his voice filled with genuine curiosity.
I met Beta's gaze, appreciating his concern and interest in my personal life. Sarah had been a significant part of my life, providing love and support during challenging times. But now, I had met Celestria, my destined mate, and my heart felt torn.
"I... I don't know, Beta," I admitted, my voice was heavy with uncertainty. "It's complicated. I care about Sarah deeply, but Celestria... she's my mate. A bond like that can't be ignored or dismissed."
Beta nodded understandingly, his expression a mix of concern and support. "I understand, Alpha. It's a tough position to be in."
Silence settled between us, punctuated only by the distant sounds of the pack outside. My heart felt torn between two worlds, each with its own demands and expectations.
"I need time to figure things out," I finally said, breaking the silence. "But no matter what, I won't leave Sarah hanging. She deserves honesty and respect."
Beta placed a comforting hand on my shoulder. "You'll find a way, Alpha. Just remember, your mate comes first. It's a way of our kind. I'll be here for you, whatever you decide. Just remember, your happiness matters too."
His words offered a sliver of solace amidst the turmoil raging within me. With a heavy heart, I turned back to the task of preparing Celestria's room, knowing that the road ahead would be fraught with difficult choices and painful consequences. But for now, all I could do was focus on being true to myself and those I cared about most.

I walked into the kitchen, a mischievous glint in my eyes as I saw Celestria, standing by the counter. She was supposed to be in her room to rest, but I knew she had a knack for getting easily distracted.
I leaned against the doorway, a playful smirk playing on my lips. "Well, well, look who finally decided to grace the kitchen with their presence," I teased, my tone lighthearted."
She turned around, an annoyed expression plastered on her face. "Oh, spare me the dramatics," She scoffed, rolling her eyes.
I strolled over to her, getting in her personal space. "Come on. Time to put those lazy hands to work," I taunted, relishing in her bratty attitude.
She raised an eyebrow, a playful glint in her eyes. "Oh, Damien, you wish. I'm more of a taste tester than a chef."
I chuckled, enjoying our banter. "Come on, your royal highness, even alphas need help in the kitchen. Time to put those regal hands to work."
She pouted mockingly. "Fine, but only because I'm feeling generous today. Don't expect a feast fit for a king."
Handing her a spatula, I teased, "Let's see if the princess can handle the heat."
Celestria shot me with a piercing glare, her eyes filled with determination. "Don't push your luck, Alpha. I can ruin this meal in a heartbeat," she threatened, her voice dripping with bratty mischief.
I raised an eyebrow, unfazed by her words. "Please, as if you'd dare. We both know you secretly enjoy showing off your skills," I taunted, my confidence shining through.
"Damien, enough with the teasing. You can be useful too, so just set the table and let us finish cooking," my mom scolded, giving me a stern look.
I pouted dramatically, pretending innocence. "But! Why should I do something as boring as setting the table?" I whined.
My mom crossed her arms, unamused by my antics. "Because being helpful is an important trait for an Alpha, even if it means doing the simple tasks," she explained firmly.
I grumbled under my breath, but knew better than to argue with my mom. With a dramatic sigh, I reluctantly made my way to the dining table. But I couldn't resist getting in one last jab at Celestria.
As I arranged the plates and utensils, I glanced over at Celestria and smirked. "Looks like you're off the hook this time, mate. Mom wants me to do the easy work," I teased, unable to resist provoking her.
Celestria shot me a playful glare, rolling her eyes. "Oh, how noble of you, Alpha. You're really proving your worth," she retorted, her bratty attitude matching my own.
I chuckled, knowing she wasn't one to back down easily. "Don't worry, Celestria. I'll try not to show you up too much with my amazing table-setting skills," I replied, my tone dripping with sarcasm.
Just as we continued our playful exchange, the door swung open, and my father walked in. His presence commanded respect and instantly caught our attention. He had a serious look on his face, and I knew something important was about to be discussed.
"Alpha, may I have a moment with you in the study?" my father asked, his voice calm yet commanding. Curious and slightly concerned, I followed him, leaving my work behind momentarily.
Entering the study, I noticed that my father seemed deep in thought, his brows furrowed. "What's going on, Dad?" I asked, trying to hide my growing nervousness.
Without wasting any time, my father began, "Son, there have been reports of a rogue wolf spotted near our pack territory. We need to discuss the situation and come up with a plan to ensure the safety of our pack."
I felt a surge of concern for my packmates and a determination to protect them. "Of course, Dad. We need to act as soon as possible. What do we know about this rogue wolf so far?" I asked, eager to gather as much information as possible.
"I have gathered a team of skilled warriors to track down the rogue and eliminate the threat," my father continued. "But I need you to lead this and report any suspicious activities or sightings."
My Dad explained that the rogue wolf had been causing disturbances in neighboring territories and had a reputation for violence. "We can't afford to underestimate the threat it poses, Damien. We need to ensure the safety of our pack and take measures to prevent any harm," he emphasized, his voice filled with determination.
"Thank you, Dad," I said, my voice filled with gratitude and determination. "I won't let you down. Our pack's safety is our top priority."
My father smiled proudly at my determination. "That's my son. I have faith in your leadership. Let's work together to protect our pack, Alpha," he said, his words filled with both confidence and paternal pride.
As we left the study room, a sense of purpose filled the air. The rogue may have posed a threat,.I felt a surge of responsibility and determination. The safety of our pack was now in my hands, and I was ready to face the challenges ahead, not just for myself, but for the ones I cared about.Download Novelah App
