CHAPTER 20

DAMIEN POV
As the days went by, I couldn't shake off the constant worry I felt whenever I saw Celestria. Her lively personality had faded, and she seemed lost in her thoughts most of the time. Smiling was rare for her now; instead, she often looked concerned and distant.
A small mistake made her really angry, and she'd lose her patience quickly. Even tiny problems would make her cry for no reason, tears streaming down her face.
I couldn't just watch her suffer quietly anymore. Even though she said she was okay, I knew she wasn't. I was going to figure out what was going on, no matter what she said.
I approached Celestria while she was watching a movie in the living room, gently placing my hand on her shoulder. "Celestria, my love, what's been troubling you? You seem so distant lately. Is there something you'd like to share with me?"
She looked away from the movie she pretended to watch, her eyes showing her inner turmoil. "I'm okay, Damien. Just tired, that's it."
Ignoring her weak excuse, I gently persisted, "Celestria, it's more than just being tired. I can see it in your eyes. Please, let me help you. Talk to me."
Her defenses crumbled under my sincere gaze, and with a heavy sigh, she admitted, "I don't know what's wrong, Damien. I feel... lost. Empty. And I can't shake this overwhelming sense of sadness that consumes me."
Holding her close, I reassured her, "You don't have to face this alone, my love. We'll get through this together. Whatever it is, we'll find a way to make sure you're."
Feeling troubled by her words, I understood that her problems were more serious than I had realized at first. "Maybe you should see a doctor, Celestria. It could be something physical causing these feelings."
Celestria paused, avoiding my eyes. "I don't think it's necessary, Damien. It's probably just stress or something."
I gently lifted her chin, encouraging her to look at me. "I know you're unsure, but looking after your body is as important as your feelings. Let's at least check if there's any physical problem, okay?"
She paused, looking uncertain. "Do you really think it's needed? I don't want to cause trouble for nothing."
I looked into her eyes, my voice filled with concern. "Celestria, your well-being is important to me. I want to make sure you're okay. Please, for my peace of mind, let's go and get you checked by the pack doctor."
With gentle coaxing, I persuaded her to go to the infirmary for a check-up. She agreed reluctantly, but her hesitation lingered between us.
We headed to the pack's medical center, where Dr. Evelyn, the pack doctor, was waiting for us. She was a knowledgeable and caring healer, respected for her kindness and skill.
Dr. Evelyn welcomed us with a friendly smile, noticing Celestria's nervousness. "Hello, Celestria and Alpha. Please, take a seat. What's troubling you?"
Celestria paused, sounding unsure. "Dr. Evelyn, I haven't been feeling right lately. I'm always sad, lost in my thoughts, and I get mad over small things. I cry for no reason. Damien wanted me to come for a check-up."
Dr. Evelyn nodded, showing understanding. "Thanks for telling us, Celestria. It's good to talk about it. Let's start with a check-up and some tests to see if there's any medical problem."
As the check-up went on, I observed Celestria nervously, hoping for answers that would make her feel better. Dr. Evelyn completed the tests and paused to look over the results.
A smile spread across her face, her eyes filled with delight. "Congratulations, Luna, Alpha. You're going to be parents. You're pregnant."
My heart raced with happiness and excitement. I couldn't hold back my joy and hugged Celestria tightly, tears of happiness running down my face. "Celestria, my love, we're going to have a baby. Our family is getting bigger."
But as I looked into Celestria's eyes, I saw no joy, no excitement. Instead, I saw fear, uncertainty, and sadness. Her tears were not tears of joy, but tears of something else entirely.
"I'm not ready, Damien," she whispered, her voice trembling. "I'm not ready to be a mother. I don't know if I can handle it."
Feeling disheartened, the happiness I had just felt turned into worry and care. Holding her tightly, I spoke with comfort. "Celestria, we'll work through this together. We'll learn, we'll improve, and we'll be great parents. I promise."
She glanced up at me, uncertainty clouding her eyes. "But what about my parents, Damien? They still haven't accepted us, our relationship. How can I bring a child into this world when my own family doesn't support us?"
I took a deep breath, knowing her fears and concerns. "Celestria, we shouldn't let what others think affect our happiness. We have each other, and now a baby is coming. We'll build our own family, our own love, and that will be all we need."
She nodded, her eyes showing a mix of emotions. "I want to believe that, Damien. I want to be happy about this, but right now, I'm just scared."
I held her tightly, my love for her overflowing. "It's okay to be scared, Celestria. We'll face this together, one step at a time. And I promise you, we'll create a beautiful life for our child."
As I realized we were going to be parents soon, I felt even more determined. I promised myself to make Celestria feel loved, supported, and secure. Being parents would be tough, but our love would help us navigate it.
And as we walked out of the infirmary holding hands, I understood that our lives were going to be different in ways we couldn't predict. It might be hard, but with love, patience, and some faith, we would face this new journey together.
I looked at Celestria, her eyes filled with a mix of fear and hope. "We'll be okay, Celestria. We'll be amazing parents, and our child will be surrounded by love."

She smiled weakly, her hand resting on her belly. "I hope so, Damien. I really do."
And at that time, as we moved towards what was to come, I realized that despite any difficulties ahead, our love would always show us the way. Together, we would build a life full of love, understanding, and joy. And that was all that counted.
