I frown as I watch my mother, her hands over her face, bawling her eyes out. I walk closer to them and stand in front of them. "Mom, Dad what's wrong? Did something happen?" I ask and my father looks up at me but doesn't say a word. Rather he stares at me with an angry look in his eyes. "Mom, what is the problem?" I ask my mom. Enid is by my side by this time. "How could you ask me what the problem is when you're the problem?" My mom looks up, her eyes are puffy. My eyes narrow. "What do you mean?" She stands up from the couch. "You want to know what I mean? Well, I'll tell you. We just received a call from Enid's parent's saying that you basically ruined their anniversary party by fighting with someone. Why would you fight with someone out in public?" "Why do you make it compulsory to always put our family name out in the public. We have a name and a company under that name to manage, don't you think it would put our business in jeopardy if you keep up with this attitude!" She screamed. "Mom, it wasn't my fault. The guy is a bastard and spoke to me disrespectfully, I had to deal with the fucker. I will not let anyone walk over me, especially not that fool." "What if he chooses to sue you? What will happen then? Have you even thought of that? There will be so many rumours that could tint our family's name!" I wonder how she doesn't have a headache from all the yelling. I roll my eyes. "He won't, mom. Trust me, I'll handle him, plus I can take care of myself." I scoff. "Ted, do you understand the gravity of what could happen if this got out?" My father spoke for the first time. Enid decides to speak up. "It wasn't Ted's fault, Mr Young. The guy provoked him by talking about his stupid girlfriend.." Enid stops herself just in time and my head snaps in her direction, my brows furrowed as I stare daggers at her. "What? Did you just say a girlfriend?" My mom screams and I shut my eyes, trying to stop myself from wrapping my hands around Enid's neck and strangling her. "You put the family business on the line over some unknown girl? How could you possibly be so stupid? I never expected this from you, Ted." I look away and sigh. "Mom, I really don't care, neither am I in the mood, so I'll just go upstairs to my room and when you're done, you guys can leave my house." I walk past her and my dad and start ascending the stairs. I am so not in the mood. I push my hands into my pockets as my parents call me back, but I ignore them. I make my way to my room and shut my door behind me and sit in my bed, closing my eyes to try to calm my nerves. Someone knocks on my door and it opens then Enid sticks her head in. I sigh, irritated by her presence. Why does she have to follow me around everywhere? "What is it that you want now, Enid? Aren't you satisfied now that you've accomplished your goal?" She walks into the room and closes the door behind her. "No, Ted. I didn't mean to. I was trying to calm your parents down and it slipped out mistakingly. I'm really sorry." She sits beside me. This girl's really annoying the hell out of me. "It doesn't matter now, Enid. Does it?" I turn to her. "I should be grateful to you for letting my parents know that I have a girl in my life, because she's the only one I love and the only one I'm prepared to spend the rest of my life with." I grab her by her arm and pull her to her feet. I walk towards the door and open it pushing her out. "You should know by now that you don't and will never have a chance, now get out of my house." I slam the door shut in her face and lock it. She starts banging on my door and screaming profanities at me. I try my best to block her out as I take off my clothes and walk into the bathroom to take my bath. I turn on the shower and as the water flows down my body and into the drainage, so does my tense nerves. I sigh as the hot water relaxes my muscles. I look down at my bruised knuckles and smirk, still feeling satisfied with myself. I finish up and wrap my towel around my body before walking into my room and changing into my pajamas. By now, I can no longer hear Enid's squeaks, so I feel that she gone home. I jump into my bed, closing my eyes and waiting for sleep when my phone ring, disturbing the peaceful air. I pick it up to see Theo's name on the screen. I wonder why he's calling. Or does he have news on Beth already. "Hey, Theo. What's up? Why are you aclling this late?" I ask as I sit up. "Dude, have you watched the news? It's a ruckus on there." I frown. "The news? Why? What's going on?" "You're on the news. It's a clip of you beating this shit out of some guy. It's all over the social media too. Dude, I think this is a big problem." I jump out of my bed and hurry to find my remote and then turn on the tv on my wall. I had seen the reporters taking pictures and vid is, but I didn't expect that it would already be on the news, and blow up this big. I switch the channel to the news channel, and to my surprise and to back up what Theo an said, was a video of me at Enid's parent's anniversary straddling Mark while punching him.
