47: I Need An Answer!

Elle shouts after me as I leave Beth's hospital room without saying anything. The blood rushing past my ears make it hard for me to hear anything as I dash down the stairs, not wanting to wait for the elevator as there were many people there.
I rush to my car and start the engine, speeding out of the parking lot, almost hitting someone. Adrenaline pushing my foot down on the accelerator.
I couldn't hardly concentrate on the road because of how angry I was. The amount of anger I feel isn't like anything I have ever felt before. I start to imagine the things that I could do to Enid if I got to the house. I drive past the speed limit this time, not caring about if I got caught or not.
I drive into the parking lot, not caring to take out my keys from the car or even shutting the door. I stomp up to the front door and slam it open, the noise resounding in the room. I walk inside and my mom that's seated on the couch stands up, startled by the noise. I didn't even know why she was staying at my house.
"What's wrong?" She asks me as she walks towards me, but I ignore her, my mind set on my goal.
"Where is Enid?" I seeth, trying to control myself, so I wouldn't take it out on mom.
"Why? Is there a problem?" She comes closer to me, touching my arm. I pull my arm away from her and repeat my question.
"Let go of me, mom. Where is Enid?!" I shout suddenly and she steps back, startled.
"Enid!!!" I shout, making sure my voice was loud enough to reach her wherever she was.
Before long, I see her majestically walking down the stairs, a confused look on her face as she approaches me. The innocent look she has on her face annoys me even more.
"What's wrong, Ted?" She says and I grab her by her neck and push her back till her back hits the wall, and I tighten my grip on her neck.
"Ted!!" My mom screams. " What's wrong with you? Let her go!" She pulls at my hand, but I refuse to let go.
"Ted….Ted." Enid tries to say through her squeezed throat as her hands come up to grab unto my arm to pull it away.
"What did you do to Beth?" I ask, tightening my grip.
"I…don't…know…" She denies and I tighten my hand even more.
If she didn't start speaking, I'll really kill her.
"You better tell me the truth before I kill you!!" I shout, she flinches and my mom shouts at me again, but I brush her off.
"Okay…let go first." I study her as she struggles before slowly letting go, trying to calm myself down.
She puts one hand on her knee and the other on her neck, trying to catch her breath.
"Now, tell me what you did to Beth? I won't repeat myself, Enid." I ask her.
"Well, I did what I had to. She was making your life hell and you were letting her. In just a matter of a few days you've done so many irrational things all because of that girl. I only did what I thought was right for you." She spits.
"Which girl? What are you talking about?" My mom asks Enid and she smirks.
"Well, Mrs Young, this girl is the reason why Ted has been making so many irrational decisions. She is the reason he beat up that guy at my parents anniversary…" I move to grab Enid to shut her mouth, but she dodges me and hides behind my mom. I was trying to stop her from saying too much.
"Stop, let her speak." My mom drags her away from me and looks at me with stern eyes.
"She is also the one that went to the news station and falsely accused Beth and now that I did something good for him he's here trying to kill me after running to her." She says as she moves close to my mother.
Is it okay for me to strangle this whore right now?
"This has been going on for a while, I just didn't want to say anything. He has been cheating on me with a stripper and even after I caught them he still didn't stop."
"Ted, is what she said true?" She asks me as her eyebrows crease.
I have to to leave, but my mom holds my arm to stop me.
"Ted, I need an answer, right now." She says, the expression on her face showing how serious she is.
"Yes, mom. It's true." I sigh.
She lets go of my arm and steps back, clearly shocked.
"So you're trying to tell me that you did all of this because of a girl." I start to panic, knowing what my mom could do if she was really angry.
She starts walking away, going up the stairs and I follow her, thinking of a way to possibly change her mind.
"Mom, it's not what you think?"
"How could it not be what I think, Ted? You put yourself and the company at stake because a girl, a nobody. You embarrassed our family in public by behaving like a gangster, beating someone up." She stops to catch her breath.
"Do you only care about yourself? Do you know what could happen if we lose the company?" She says, looking at me, her face showed only disappointment.
"Mom, let me explain."
"I want to hear nothing from you, Ted. You've spoken enough." She puts her hand up to stop me from talking.
"Your father is going to hear about this when he returns. You better prepare yourself, because I am not going to let this go."
"There's just one thing I have to tell you. It would be over my dead body that I would let you marry any other girl apart from Enid."
