My brain doesn't quickly register what I was seeing in front of me at the moment. I look away, and then look back at Mark, flirting with the girl that he was holding, and that was when it finally registered. How could he possibly threaten Beth and I to stay away from each other but then he's out doing what he likes with other women. Pushing Enid's arm off mine, I walk towards Mark with only one intention in my mind. "Hey!" I say loudly and tap him on his shoulder. He turns back with a questioning look, but when he sees me, the side of his lips turn up in a smirk. "Oh, wow. I didn't expect to see you here Ted. What a pleasant surprise." He lets go of the woman he was holding and she stands beside him. "What the fuck do you think you're doing?" I frown. "What does it seem like? I'm here to enjoy myself." "Who exactly do you think you are to think you can play Beth and I that way? You threatened us to stay away from each other, because you wanted Beth, but here you are are with shamelessly holding some other woman." I gesture to the woman by his side. "Hey, Ted. What I do is my business. I can choose to go out with who ever I like, and it should not concern you in any way." By this time, most of the eyes in the hall had turned to look at us. Most of them were curious as to what was going on, while others were just irritated by the noise. "Then why should I have to stay away from Beth? I let Beth go because of your silly games, and now you can't even hold unto you end of the bargain." I go closer to him. "Like I said, it's not your business what I choose to do." He walks closer till we're standing face to face then whispers the next part. "Besides, I really don't know what you see in that whore of a girl." He says and leans back, a satisfied smile on his face. I stand there with my eyes wide, blood rushing past my ears as all I can see is red. I run towards him and ram into him with all the force I can gather as he hits the table behind him and falls to the ground. Gasps ring out all around us as I walk towards his groaning figure lying on the floor, trying to get up. I squat down and straddle him before getting on the same level with his face. "Next time, you'll know not to talk about Beth like that." I say through clenched teeth before I draw my fist back and bring it down on his face. He can hardly fight back, because I have him pinned down firmly to the ground. I don't hesitate to land more punches on his face, not stopping even when blood starts seeping out of the wounds that were appearing on his face, or when I hear screams all around me. I know I might not be making the best decision for myself, because there were reporters around, but I would worry about that later. I continue punching Mark till there's no clean spot on his face. He's bleeding all over, but I'm still not satisfied, so I keep going until I'm pulled back by some guards that had been called in. I struggle against them to get back to Mark, but there are about three of them holdinge back, so I can't break free. I watch as mark lies on the floor, groaning in pain and unable to stand up. I smile at the satisfaction I feel inside watching him on the floor before I hear the sirens coming from outside. I really didn't care that I had basically ruined Enid's parent's anniversary. It was their daughter that forced me to come. Medics with a stretcher come in and place Mark on the stretcher, before carrying him out. Serves you right, fucker. I'm that confident because Mark is a poor nobody. The only reason I chose to do as he said was because of what he held against Beth. I sneer internally at him as he was being carried away, before pulling my arms forcefully out from the ones that were holding me. Everyone was watching me with scared eyes and the reporters that were there were taking as many pictures as they could and recording whatever could be recorded. I paid no mind to them. I turn around to see Enid standing there, frozen with either shock or fear. I watch her swallow hard as she stared at me. I scoff and walk past her, going to my car. I hear footspets behind me and by the time I get into the driver's side, Enid is already there. I pull out of the parking lot and start the drive home. I stared at my knuckles that were hurting and stained with blood as I remember Mark's bloody face. I smirk and then start to laugh like a maniac. Through my peripheral vision, I can see Enid press herself up against the side of the car as she stares at me like I have gone mad. Why is she even here? But deep down, I like the fact that she is quiet and scared of me, because having to listen to her siren-like voice at the moment will only get my more provoked. I turn towards the window on my side and smile. I've never been so satisfied with myself. We finally reach the house, and I park my car and walk towards the front door with Enid running to catch up with me. I dig one of my hands into my pockets as I open the door with the other to a confusing sight. My mother is seated on the couch crying seriously, while my dad is right beside her consoling her.
