55: Missing Little Girl

Beth
The sound of the music booms in the space of the club as people dance around on the dance floor, while some sat in front of my pole, watching me. I twirl around, smiling and doing every style that there is in the book because of how excited I was.
The men seated around me cheer me on as they throw tips unto the stage for me. I didn't really care about them as it was as if the whole world had faded away and it was just my pole and I left.
I think it was the excitement for being back at work and also happiness from having made up with Ted. I couldn't feel anymore happy. My heart was over pouring with joy. I didn't even feel like leaving the pole even wgen I was tired, until Harvey called my name to tell me that it was time for me to go home.
I get down from the stage as the men groan and I wave them goodbye, giving them the sweetest smile I can. I make my way to the locker room and changeu clothes before stepping out to look for Celine.
I see her sitting at the counter, talking to a guy. I had noticed her talking to him for a while now and it seemed she was really interested in him, so I didn't want to disturb them.
I wait a little bit for them to be done, so that Celine and I can go home together, but they were really wasting a lot of time. I check the time before I looked outside, and it was dark and seemed like it was about to rain. I wait for about thirty minutes, but when she didn't seem like she was any close to being done, I walk up to her.
"Hi, sorry for interrupting your conversation." I say to the guy, then I turn to Celine. "I really need to be getting home now. It's really late."
She's about to say something, but I interrupt her.
"Don't worry, I can get home myself. Goodbye, see you tomorrow." I wave at them and the guy waves back.
I smile as I walk towards the door, bidding goodbye to the bartender and the bouncer at the front of the bar. I feel kind of happy for Celine because she finally found interest in a guy. She had been alone for too long.
I call a taxi and get in and tell the driver the address. I smile as I stare out the window, humming a tune and bopping my head to it.
I pay the driver as we reach my home and I go into my house. I step into the house and walk to the kitchen immediately to look for something to eat.
I didn't want to go upstairs and come back down again because I was feeling lazy. My body was already weak from the amount of dancing that I had done. I bring out some leftover pasta in the refrigerator and put it in the microwave to heat up, while I wait on the couch.
After about ten minutes, I hear the sing from the microwave and I go to remove the pasta, taking it up to my room. When I get to my room, I put the pasta down on my table and decide to wash up before eating, so that the food would also get a little cooler.
I quickly take off my clothes and go into the bathroom and take a quick shower, because all I wanted to do was sleep. I come out and put on my night wear and start eating my food immediately.
When I'm done, I keep my plate back on the table, too lazy to take it downstairs to wash it. I wanted to rest a little before taking it down.
So, I pull out my phone and play with it for a while before deciding to finally take the plates down. I drop my phone and carry the plate down to the kitchen and wash it. I place it on the rack to dry, happy that I could finally have the rest that I deserve, when my movement freezes.
I suddenly remember that I hadn't heard Elle's voice since I stepped into the house. I frown, because normally, she would have come out of her room to dmsay something, to she would be playing music out for everyone to hear.
I slowly walk towards her room, different thoughts creeping into my mind. I shake my head, trying to get them out, but one refuses to go away.
I remember the threats that Mark had been making to me if I didn't comply with his orders, and my heart skipped a beat, as my body quivered in fear.
I really hope that I am wrong on this one
What if she had sneaked out to a party?
I would rather she did that than for it to be Mark.
I get to her room and throw the door open. I walk inside, bit I still see no signs of Elle. I walk to her bathroom, but she's still not in there, I check her closet, maybe she could be messing with me, but she still isn't there.
I leave her room, running to the phone book we had in the living room. The phone book contained numbers of some of her classmates and friends, so I decided to call all of the yo ask if anyone had seen her.
I wlvall each and every one of the numbers, but they all don't seem to know where Elle could be. They say that there's no party, so there's no way she could be with any one of them.
One of them said that the last time they saw her was when they walked back home together.
I sit on the couch, my shoulders sagged as I wonder what I could do. I stand up and dial the police number. I tell them that I want to file a missing persons complaint, but they said I could only do that after twenty four hours.
Confused, I walk upstairs to her room and sit on her bed, because I don't know what else I could do. I lie on it as tears threaten to leave my eyes. As I move on the bed, I hear the sound of paper crumpling under me.
I sit up and pick it up and the words written on it were 'i warned you'.
My heart rate speeds up as I read it. It confirmedy suspicions. Mark had taken Elle. I stand up from the bed and start to dial Mark's number, but there's no answer. I call him multiple times, but there's still no answer.
I could see the tears start to drop down my face as I frantically try to call Mark. After a while of no answer from Mark, I decide to call Ted. I try to val down, so that my words would be coherent enough for Ted.
The phone rings for a while, but there's no answer. The call goes straight to voicemail. I try again, but I figure out that it's late, he could be asleep, so I resort to leaving a voice message.
I try not to sob too much, so that he would understand what I was saying. I explain everything that had happened to him and put my phone down hoping that by some miracle, he would wake up to my voice message.
After a while of pacing, my phone rings and I run to it, and see Ted's name on the caller ID. I pick it up immediately.
"Hello, Ted. Ted, I really don't know what to do…… Elle's been taken… what if something happens to her?" I rambled before Ted shushes me.
"Hey, Beth. It's going to be okay. I listened to your voicemail, and I will be at your house very soon, okay? Just wait for me." He says and I nod.
"Okay, I'll wait." The call cuts off, as I sit still, waiting for Ted to come.
The only thought in my mind is what Elle would possibly be going through.
