It's the Next Day at school and I was expecting yesterday's issues to follow me into the new day, not as if my worries will get swallowed up overnight.
Though I haven't done anything about the issues, it now feels quite relaxing than that of yesterday. I always go to my locker immediately I came to school, so today wasn't going to be any different, just have to go swap my books and pick today's own. On my locker was written GO & APOLOGIZE. I touched the ink and saw that it wasn't permanent, I could just remove it by cleaning it with a piece of clothing, Nice that I wore a brown long sleeved leather jacket to school, just placed my forearm on it and made few movements, scrubbing it out and left the locker way.
The Day have been going normal without a lot of dramas, somehow I am thankful that all that has already gone past me yesterday rather than coming to disturb my peace today, it was all a lovely and peaceful day until the very end, no eyes on me, no headlines on the school website and absolutely no misunderstanding or bad energy on the basketball training ground.
A day became two, two turned to three, and from three, it's already a week, everything was going like they never happened, I haven't spoken to Stella all this while, not like I had the urge to but it felt like something we usually do was no off, I don't look her way in the gym and she never approached me, I walk past her in school like we never kissed before, and I haven't spoken with Jack or Jackie after what happened between us. David too has returned to his normal energy, laughing and putting on a smile around each other like we never had some quiet of a silent stint, Francis and the others wasn't hanging around like they used to, they now feels quite distant, I haven't seen them around David or David around them, but for me, I usually speak with them on occasions.
“ Hey Jack..... I know that you're still pissed at me, I'm here to apologize to you, could you at least forgive me for old time sake?.... Please I have been trying to handle the situation and I believe that it's all going to be alright but a quarrel between us?, I don't support that...”, I pleaded with him, wearing a smile to soften the hardness of his look.
“ Have you gone back to Mother superior?...”, he quarries, Automatically, I saw myself scratching the top of my head knowing that it will continue being an issue for a long run until I do something about it. I actually wasn't planning to though, I believe that David's beliefs can give me some luck, time will solve that for me, I don't hope so, I know so, but for now, I believe Mother superior will continuously be healing gently.
“ I know you won't.... You're always persistent, I don't even know why I should feel Sorry for you, but here's what I want you to know, somethings have happened on the past days and by looking at it, you know nothing about it.... The matter is no longer in my hands, I should have said that you have gotten away with my threats, but knowing that you're still quarrelling with her, I think you're now in more trouble than you were the last time....”, he said, signs of pity in his eyes, is he being sympathetic of me right now?, What did I miss?.
“ I'm still clueless on what you're talking about Jack, can you please explain more...”, I requested from him, my hands holding his shoulders, towering him with my bigger look right now as I pressed for answers.
“ Your girlfriend Stella, Stella Phillips.... She came.... She came after my sister again, threatening her with something else, I begged them to leave her alone but they were more powerful over us, they bullied me and Jackie, pouring out the content of our school bags, that's when one of them saw the picture, the picture of your old self, she made the others know the story on the news about that picture, including Stella herself who was also present, they asked what the picture was doing with me, they threatened that if I didn't tell them, that they'll put up a New headline about my sister, framing her about something she didn't do, I couldn't keep protecting you instead of my sister, so I.... I... I told them... I told them everything....”.
Sh*t!... I shouted, getting my hands of his shoulders, F**k!.. I kicked the wall over and over again with my foot, knowing that I have just gotten myself into much worse trouble without knowing it, both of my hands were now on my hair, scratching them continuously in confusion, I looked at Jack who was now having tears in his eyes, acting weak like how we all were trained, I don't know what to do with this, I am really overtaken with anger right now.
I couldn't have expected him to lie, I know that I am now a renowned liar in the sight of God, a renowned liar with so much secrets, much more than those who already live in the City before me, I was now worse, worse than many. What should I do?, This wasn't Jack and Jackie's faults, they believe that lying is a sin, but I believe that Jack would still lie to keep me safe, but this time, his lies will affect her sister's well-being and emotional health, something I truly understand, but why?.
I took a last glance at him, seeing how broken he was watching me act out of control, he's like a little brother to me, I know that stabbing me on the back wasn't something he would consider if his sister's image wasn't in the line, I went to him and hugged him, “ I'm sorry Jack, I'm sorry for putting you in such a terrible situation, forgive me....”, I apologized to my little brother for making him choose between me and his twin.
