Now gathering at our reservation area, everyone was enjoying themselves, my men continuously drinking themselves out, just like the enjoyment they had yesterday was not yet enough for them. Wine was the only thing I drink if it ain't water, I was drinking just wine yesterday on my bachelor's night, now the consuming of wine continues while I sat next to my beautiful wife.
“ I want to make a toast.... To my brother and friend whom we grew up with side by side,he helped us a lot because he was older at the Orphanage, he shows us the right path to take, the right decision to make and even the right food to eat, ( everyone laughs), out of all the beautiful ladies in this world, he happened to set his goal for the most beautiful of all, my twin sister who never left my side, she was always there in good and in bad, she's a lady who knows what she wants, evidently submissive to her new master and the boss lady who doesn't take sh*t from the others out here, I make this toast for both of you.... You'll live a long and happy life together!, You'll enjoy the fruit of this marriage!, And nothing will ever separate you guys as long as there's life to live!..... Cheers!”.
Everyone cheered happily with Jack's toast and the merriment continues, few others made their cheers, wishing all of us well until I saw the figure I was looking out for, having a conversation with Mother superior with Grace standing right next to her, “ Give me some minutes My Queen, I will be right back....”, I kissed her cheek and left the table we sat together on.
“ Looks like you got my invitation after all?!”, I said to him whilst he was still speaking with Mother superior and Grace, my biological mother, she was also invited by me, she has missed most of her son's life, I won't just walk away without giving her this opportunity to be here on my most favorable day.
“ I believe you guys can give us a minute here, let me speak with my son....”, Mr Caleb said to Mother superior and Grace as they gently obliged and walk away, Mr Caleb began leaving the sight of the crowd while I followed him.
“ Start talking!....”, I said to him, not sure of what I am feeling now, I am trying to make myself look angry and feel sad, but I just can't get myself to, for reasons I don't know. “ You'll have to ask me questions son for me to reply....”. I wanted to grab his collar and push him to the wall, but I couldn't, it doesn't feel right.
“ Didn't you for once feel like I have to know?....”, I asked him, “ No.... I didn't feel for once, I feel everyday that you have to know, but yet, you of all people experienced how distance I kept myself away from you, watching in silence, never allowing you leave my sight, bearing the most horrible punishment of all, watching my son and yet can't do anything about it....”.
Yeah, that's it exactly, this was things I know of that makes it hard for me to blame him, if that was a role he was playing, it was a 101% of excellent, I knew he was the one suffering most in all this, Grace was in pains too, but she had something else to look onto for her future, but for Mr Caleb, he was the one in torture, watched his son grow for sixteen years, but never for once losed his guard, he was here smiling like one who never went so many nights feeling alone and depressed, he made the hardest decision just to make sure that he was watching his kid grow.
“ You should have told me then, I mean when I came to that city your brother was planning on selling his Gym, we saw each other, yet you left without telling me that I was your son!.....”, this time I sounded angry, but he never let go of that calm look on his face.
“ Parents made the most difficult decisions when it comes to there kid, you would never understand my reasons even if I explain to you, but one day, when that the come, you will be thankful for my decision and would believe that's the only way to get your son on the right path.... I know you needed my help then, I trusted you more than anyone, I know the kind of man you're, the man you had grew up to become, and I know that your decision to work on a gym has a lot of benefits to provide for your needs, as a father who's decision determines his child's next decision, I made the one that feels like it was the best and until now still the best.... I decided to give you the gym, believing you'll do right with it....”.
I would have said that Mr Caleb was sounding like a lunatic or something, but haven seen the way my life has been revolving around his informations, I believe he's trying to sell me a hint here, one that would be beneficial to my future.
“ I don't know why I am doing this really, but at this point, I am somehow grateful that it all went this way, your actions brought me here, made me into the man I am today, realized that the advices you've given me all this while were the best of all, what a small world it really is....”.
I hugged him, holding him tight as he gently reciprocated with the hug, his hand moving around my back, “ I sure felt like I never knew what I was doing, but here we are today....”, he said gently, right next to my ear.
