Tonight was My last day in there home and he is allowing me to take with me whatever I call mine in his home, the clothes he got for me, my footwears, the phone, everything that he got for me, he said I can go with it, not even trying to stop me or anything.
Everyone wanted me to go back to Mother superior, I guess their prayers have been answered, I will be leaving early tomorrow morning with no one ever going to see me back here again.
I heard a knock on my door before he lets himself in, it was David and there wasn't any sign of pain or sadness in his face, he's just looking as bright as always and we haven't spoken to each other since that day, not that we was avoiding each other or something, just that we haven't been coming across each other and he never wanted to come look for me just the way I never went to him, so it's all mutual.
“ I guess you're done parking, probably leaving tomorrow like you promised my Dad....”, he said, lying down on my bed beside me.
“ Uncle Dale wanted me to leave, this is his house, who am I to challenge his order....?”, I asked, not as if I meant that as a question but it was a question by the words. “ Wow... Did he say that?....”, he asked me, eyes turning to look at me, “ Not actually, but his actions says everything out loud....”, I said to him.
“ You know I can tell when he's happy about something and when he's not..... Let me tell you this, right now, my Dad is really happy, not because you're leaving, but because you're making a decision, a man is meant to lead and he is responsible for every decision he makes ”, David said, looking back up at the ceiling just as I was doing, but this time, I was now the one looking at him.
“ I don't understand.... What if I am making a wrong decision?....”, I asked him, quite curious on what his answer was going to be, “ A man knows when he's about to make a mistake and when he should risk it, it's all like a gamble, you have to play with caution... A man must make a decision because he should, when it turns out right, he's happy, but when it turns out wrong, he will learn, it's a win win if you ask me.....”.
The More I speak with him, the weirder he sounds, I can't get to catch the meaning of his words plainly. “ If I say that I understood you, I would be lying, but does this mean you're not even concerned or making any effort to stop me from leaving?.....”, I asked as my curiosity increased.
“ I wouldn't be having this conversation with you if I know you will never understand, I know the Willy I have lived with and admired, you sure understand me but doesn't want to place the meaning on the right box, you have understood that your decision doesn't have a standing and by putting all I have said into it, it goes against your decision, making you wrong, but the situation here is that, you don't want to be wrong, not in your eyes, not in anyone else..... As a friend and brother, I wouldn't want you to leave, but as a Man who got to make a decision about his life, stopping you would make me a bad person, you have to make whatever decision you want, the end of the decision you made will teach you a lesson, whether it's a good one or a bad one, there must be a lesson to learn....”.
As well as I can admit, David is really uncle Dale's son, both of them shares the same mindset, equal mentality, both believe that a man have to suffer to progress in life, I have heard Uncle Dale say before, if you want to progress in life, you must choose pain, when God wants you to progress, he will make you uncomfortable, that way, you will decide whether you should go after the discomfort or look for another comfortable zone to keep yourself in.
“ Uncle Dale's words were brutal and intense, he should be comforting me as a father rather than criticizing me....”, I said to David. He smiled by my words which made me rose from the bed, how come is he finding this funny?, He rose up with me too before speaking.
“ A man doesn't bring comfort Jones, what a man brings on the table is discipline, the Mothers are the one who brings comfort, God created them that way to bring peace and the men for struggle and war, you can't tell me you're expecting my father to train you like that of a woman, you grew up under a woman Jones, all you have known is peace, now you have lived with my Dad and got to realize that the world is not a bed of roses..... This is what I will tell you brother, if what my Dad said to you then were all lies, I advice you to run away from here as fast as you can, but if the other way you have realized that you're making the wrong decision, advice yourself before it's too late, life is too short to live the same day twice.....”, he stood up and left my room.
Speaking with David is no difference to speaking with Uncle Dale but in a different version, Uncle Dale was the one with the iron fist but David, David is the water who brings peace to the table, yet with the same violent nature, he's a boy like me too, we boys are just like woman and offers the same thing they do until we grow into becoming a Man.
