A whole week has passed after my row with Uncle Dale, he treats me like there was never a misunderstanding between us, like all of that were all in the past. It's in the past though, put even in that past, he never showed the sign of it happening.
It's all getting to the end already, our last days in highschool, prom was around the corner and time went so fast that I never knew that I have been with Uncle Dale and David for a few months already, there's no sign of attraction between me and Stella too, she acts like I don't even exist and that was good for me, she never wanted me, why would she then show any attraction?, No reason.
I have already begun to speak with Jack and Jackie, I can still see how they hold back when chatting with me, Jack holding back because he still believes that he did something unforgivable and unsolved while Jackie holding back because she was a lady, that's how she was trained by Mother superior, looking feminine and weak in nature but quite stable mentally depending on the situation.
My relationship with Francis and the others were like a thread, more like we were no longer even friends but still speaks for old time sake. I don't know the issue they had with David, I don't know how they came to stop being friends, but the fact is that, they're no longer friends like those I knew when I got here, and looking by their physical nature, they're no longer consistent in the Gym, they have lots a lot of gains and mass and I now tower over them, I was already tall when we were being compared with in heights, but now, my mass too, they look quite like kids compared to me, maybe I should be thankful for my genetics or be sorry for them for indulging in taking some hard drugs lately, it was as if David saw all this long ago before it all began happening, maybe I should speak to him about this later.
“ Can you tell me the truth about what's going on with you and your friends?....”, I asked him, sitting on his bed while he laid down, he turned off his phone to give me his full attention.
“ My friends?.... They're your friends too if you ask me....”, he replied, if he thinks that I will fall into the trap of discussing about whether they're my friends or not and let him to successfully change the topic, he has definitely hit rock bottom.
“ Whatever..... What's going on between you and them, you guys have been quite distant for a long time now, both at school and in the gym....”, I pressed. By the way he moved his head and eyes down in thought, it looks like he's trying to think up another escape thoughts.
“ I believe you too no longer see them as good companions, they changed a lot or I can say they're growing just like us but in a different path....”. Does that mean that there separation was quite mutual than because of an argument?, I asked myself, considering whether his answer was acceptable or not, it's actually the truth though, they have been growing apart and I can see signs of them indulging in hard drugs, guess I wasn't observant enough after all, I was about to walk away when he called me back.
“ Actually Jones, it got something to do with you, last time I requested you should dump Stella and go your way, you see, I never wanted to say this things to you then because looking at how close you have gotten with her, the information will break you for a moment, then you will develop a defensive reason to forgive her about this and then still give away your power as a man, I decided not to get involved anymore about it, I know it was going to teach you a lesson and stopping you from learning wouldn't be brother like from me, so I decided not to intervene with your life and natural education, allowing what was coming from happening.... If you didn't learn it now, then you will have to learn it in the future and then, we might not be there to pick you right back up, or you won't even be able to pick yourself up.....”.
That was really an interesting narrative which I remembered, but after all that, he never said what truly was that, just giving me hints that he was already watching what was coming and wanted me to learn from it, he wasn't a seer, so I won't blame him for not stopping that from happening, but as he said, what I have learnt from experience now, I wouldn't have learnt it have he told me about it. I went back to his bed and sat down, the gesture signalling him that I was waiting for him to get on with the full details.
“ You see..... Your beloved girl then Stella was hitting on the guys behind your back, and by guys I mean our so called friends, she was hanging out with them, cheating on you behind your back when you was drunken in love Jones, I saw that and advised them that I knew that's their way of living, thinking they're teaching the simps guys a lesson that relationships are toxic, I let them know that they shouldn't do that to their closed friend too, but they insisted, I don't regret not telling you then, because I believed that I also wanted you to learn, but what they never saw coming was I was preparing for you to see how bad a friend we all were for you, you trusted us with your heart and believed that we would never hurt you, but here's the hidden truth Jones, betrayal doesn't come from enemies, they come from friends....”.
